Spent the day doing very little other than calling to see my mum. She is talking about my sister in terms of years. I tried to disabuse her but she doesn't want to see how bad things are. Given her age, I can't push it too far as we haven't had a proper prognosis yet. I then had to pick her up from mass this evening and we had a wild goose chase until she got the optimum takeaway, a pastie which, in NI, is a potato based patty that is battered and deep fried and ridiculously tasty. She insisted that I keep the £5 change so that will go to the mortgage. We are doing quite well today. Minimum of £12 to go tomorrow plus whatever kind of TT that's needed. I spoke to my sis on the phone today. I'm struggling with this. We haven't been close for years and conversations are superficial but the contact is there. Today I am grateful for

Another Monday has rolled round. Have a team briefing today followed by a manic rush to get a report out the door. Then am meeting two long time friends for dinner this evening. Won't be a spendy one as no one will be drinking and it'll just be one course of pub grub. I will drive in theory cos I have the biggest car. In truth it's cos one of my dining companions is the worst driver that the other two of us know. I'm no great shakes but she is woeful and only takes routes she's familiar with even if it takes us miles from where we need to be. We do love her though and can't tell her so generally rely on the size excuse! Got bits and pieces done yesterday but nowt earth shattering. 5 items were listed on the bay by OH which was good. Fingers crossed they go so there will be another op to be made. I'm so close to 50% of my target ops that I'm getting very impatient. Called and spoke to brother in law yesterday. Suggested that he needs to have a think about what support would be of help. Not sure how that will pan out but the offer has been made.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. To quote Greying, visitors, how nice. Last night was good. Food was ok but we sat and burbled on catching up with each other's lives and families etc. today I will be in the office all day as things are backlogged. Tomorrow and Thursday in dublin. It's still wet and windy here but I suppose it's only to be expected for the start of feb. Mortgage payment goes out today and credit card needs to be paid so I will update later. Isn't it odd how one bad thing happening can derail you in so many ways. Since I heard about my sis, I have wanted to spend and eat. I said this to my canada sister and she's exactly the same so we have to confess to each other if offences are committed.
Today I am grateful for

did my two days in dublin and between meetings stumbled upon an aldi. bought 5 of the super 6, can't believe how cheap these were. also picked up various bits and pieces like a 60c Haggis that was received with great joy. am having my day off today much to the shock of my boss. he became too accustomed to paying me for 4 days while getting 5 if i was needed on a wednesday. my wake up call re pay is his wake up call re attendance. called up to my sister's on tuesday with made by me food from the freezer. i think that's probably the way forward. anytime i batch cook, i'll through something up and if she wants to talk, we can. her speech is becoming increasingly slurred. i have a wedding to go to tomorrow so a large part of today will be a cut and colour with other necessary ablutions. fingers crossed it stays dry for the bride. did my overpayment transfer, a TT and took account of the mortgage payment that has gone out to update my sig. whoop, whoop, whoop i'm more than half way to my target. anyhow, gotsda go. all you in work today, please remember the true meaning of POETS day!Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes.
