  • Yesterday I got my day off. I waited for the washing machine repair man and got the news it'd be a week waiting for parts. I managed to drop off some stuff to the charity shop, pick up a prescription, get it filled, leave in the dry cleaning along with a service wash that I collected. I walked the dog and got some tidying away of outstanding Christmas decorations. Today I was in work and actually got some stuff off my desk.

And now, continuing my theme of being careful what you wish for, on Tuesday, I was walking back to the office from a meeting. Happily I was wearing a full length coat as, due to my weightloss, my skirt slipped down. It was one of those moments where I grabbed it, walked on and then burst into peals of laughter. It was so ridiculous.

This evening, I printed out vouchers earned from surveys that will fund a food shop inc a 2 dine in.

Today I am grateful for being able to laugh at absurdities

  • Today I transferred just over £500 to my mortgage. Unfortunately, I left details of the balance elsewhere so haven't yet updated my sig. Work went ok and I caught up with some clients which is always good. Went to pick up the 2 dine in offer at lunchtime and ended up having to wait 25 mins as the cash register froze just as my credit card was being processed. Upshot is that I may be charged or I may have been gifted my shopping by m&s. Fingers crossed everyone.
This evening I finally cashed in my £5 winning scratch card. That was part of my OP. It is so so cold here at present but that, in part, is to my living in a house that is 100 years old this year.

Anyhow, today I am grateful for a new start, for an olive branch being accepted and for the possibility of a free shop.

Am now off to get under covers as I'm so cold.

Btw, the skirt incident happened on a main city centre road. Keep laughing peeps, I do when I think of it.

  • Today will be a ridiculously spendy day that I'm not looking forward to. It's a good friend's hen party and I'm going as I believe that if someone invites you to something wedding related, it's because they want you to be part of what will hopefully be a one off in their lives. Total cost will be £150 but due to the lingering cough etc I won't be participating in the thermal spa part but will be hanging around for a few hours while the others do. A book is def called for. Apart from the bride to be. I don't know anyone and will probably be the fattest and def the oldest in attendance. Still, I've committed to the time and the money and will hopefully get to know some nice people. Just need to figure out what to wear and brave the frost as the spa is some 30 miles away. I did buy something new on Thursday as I had a gift voucher that coincided with a good sale. Thanks to ms kondo, I realised that the purchases were more to do with joy that they fitted than joy at the thought of wearing so they are being returned.
