Good on you for not working overtime for no money! I used to do the same - I'd get in early, have a shorter lunch and leave late, but then they treated us all so badly that I decided to stop.

  • Wedding went very well. Bride was radiant, groom was bursting with bride, weather wasn't great but no one cared. OH and I spent a full day together and it seems ages since that happened. Was lovely. Really glad I went as I caught up with some people I hadn't expected to be there. Also, the bride's family were ridiculously lavish with their hospitality so not too much money was spent. Today however need to get to makro as we are running low on essentials so today will be a bit of a spendy day. Also need to get on top of house stuff and work stuff. Hope everyone's having a good weekend.

  • Stumbled across your diary and wanted to thank you for visiting mine regularly and being helpful and supportive despite how much you are dealing with, a true demonstration of strength of character and genuine kindness.

Nothing like a good wedding to lift your spirits. Good for you regarding not letting work take the water, I learn't the hard way last year that you really do have to look out for yourself. I don't even check emails any more on weekends.

Take care of you and yours

  • Two out of four items on the bay have just sold. Another £35 to go off the mortgage. Apart from that, didn't get out of my pjs today. Will go to makro after work tomorrow. Am worried that I am back to drifting so tomorrow will get myself back into gear. Put on 2lbs last week which edged me back into the 14s. Needless misery snacking, etc. got word on Friday that my next surgery on my leg will be within three months. Really need to get on top of sugar control before that.
    Today I am grateful for
A lazy afternoon with the dog watching the rugby
Watching a good game even if the result wasn't what I would have liked
Having sufficient stores to avoid going out

Don't get derailed INOD, it's even more important to look after your health now.

Make sure you have healthy snacks ready-prepared in the fridge, and that there's a glass of water already poured.

Often we are thirsty rather than hungry. Often we are scared or frustrated. Don't stuff the emotions back down with food.

Three months to your leg operation? Your recovery will be easier if your weight is nearer to your goal. You can totally do this!
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

Satchmo, thanks to my team at work, I'm rather good with the water mon to fri. If anyone goes to the kitchen, they top up water bottles and place within arms reach. Accordingly, I'm prompted to drink at weekends as I feel thirsty otherwise.
Beanie, the need for this surgery was identified in 2013 when I picked up a knee injury and was fortunate enough to be covered for private treatment. I had the main surgery in 2014 but needed to be fully recovered from that which took about 8 months in all. I kinda let things drift until I was kicked off a park run programme last year and told not to come back until cleared by a doctor as the whole knee area was badly swollen, hot and sore. I got really depressed about it then as I was trying the running to help with my diabetes and depression and felt like I'd been bitten in the bum! Anyhow, eventually got back to my gp who has clearly kicked up a whole person type stink so surgery by end of April or sooner if there are cancellations. Aim is then to restart running program in sept and do a 5k by year end. I'll be a year late achieving that goal but better late and all that.

Anyhow, the work week beckons. I really can't be bothered but needs must. Both ebay items have paid which is good so these will be in the post tomorrow. Hope everyone's week gets off to a good start.

  • So, more than half way through the week. Work continues to be manic but such is life. Got half of my non working day yesterday and dd and I went to the cinema. We then observed one of my two annual religious observances and got fish and chips for dinner. Also picked up some for my mum and OH though, given he is in the doghouse, he didn't deserve it. Also went to see my sister who is going downhill fast. This sounds really selfish but we had planned a September holiday this year. I'm now dubious about booking it. Today I am chairing a panel for a client which is likely to be a full day affair. In a way, it'll be good not to be in the office and I can also nip round to boots and stock up on some toiletries to be paid for with my points.
Hope everyone has a good day.
