  • INOD - I'm very late to the party, but just wanted to add my voice to the CHORUS that is here to say that there is nothing, nothing remotely resembling failure in attending counselling sessions. Most people need assistance at some point in their lives for a wide variety of reasons - only a proportion go on to actually seek out that assistance, and usually, with the help of a good guide, their lives are transformed.

I trust that you are teamed with a gifted counsellor to work with :D

And whilst i'm a bit of a flop at the minute, I remain on Team INOD - waving my pom-poms with as much vigour as I can muster :D

Keep on keeping on INOD - you're BRILL!! :D

  • Back in the land of the internet and caught up with diaries. Will be back to update later as have a massage at nine to dekink post what are for me rather massive road trips. Hope everyone's weekend is off to a good start.

  • So a hectic week that had highs and lows. The lows mainly relating to being away from home and driving through multiple roadworks plus dealing with a psycho client who believes that there are conspiracies everywhere. We are talking really really paranoid. The high was making it home Thursday evening to see Paloma faith. That lady knows how to put on a show. What I'd give to be able to walk in her heels never mind prance about in them for an hour and a half. At least we got some good stuff cleared and some good client meetings done.
On other matters, having had my meltdown about the counselling, it turns out my first session won't be until October. I was originally referred to the in house counsellor in my surgery. After three weeks got a letter saying the wait would be too long so I was being referred onto the regional team. Of course, being me I read that as saying I was a total fruit loop who needed something urgently. Turns out that it was just the nhs in action. Thanks again to all those who put up with me. Satchmo, you'll be pleased to hear that while I had dessert one night I was away, sugar intake has reduced considerably. Since I can't really burn it off until I get my surgery, I just have to reduce what's going in.
Had my massage this morning and now hurt all over but now I'll waken tomorrow feeling a lot better than I have recently. Stopped in at a local grocery chain who are doing £5 voucher of a £25 spend earned by spending £25 or over. I ended up spending £30 as there were some whoopsied stables that I couldn't resist. At least, when I use my voucher, it'll be an op en route to the mortgage.

Having said that, while working away we visited a local outlet where money was spent. Some on presents including a new shirt for OH which was pricey (even in euros, at an outlet and with a 10% reduction I blagged) but he does put up with a lot and he is so lovely. I also bought myself a scrumptious jumper but asked him to take it away and I only get it back with a good sugar reading.

Anyhow, thanks again for all the loveliness. I am somewhat back on track even if still a bit wobbley. I just need to reprogram my thinking into realising that I need investment in terms of time, care and watchfulness rather than going with knee jerk reactions and seeking comfort in sugar.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend and enjoying better weather than our gloom!

  • Another Monday morning and another week where I won't get my day off. A number of jobs should be brought to a conclusion this week. Who knows, I may even manage an invoice or two. Today I've two meetings that are forty miles apart and will then hopefully manage some office time. Also need to prep a presentation for Friday.

On the MSE side, I light lunch planned and that's it with no evenings out scheduled either. So fingers crossed for a light spend eating from the freezer week.

Hope everyone's week gets off to a good start.

That's a bit rubbish, not getting your day off. OH's job is the same in that respect. If things are busy, he just has to work extra for no extra money. He does like it though mostly.

My week has started with some important adoption paperwork, which is exciting and scary. :)

Ashame you can't get your due day off, but hopefully work fruitful and not too stressy.

  • We'll hump day today and we will soon be heading for the weekend. Yesterday I was in dublin which was a NSD bar tolls that are reclaimable. Three of us were on site and we got a significant amount done so a good day. Today I am office based and hope to get on top of so many things. I've clients currently chasing me for stuff and I don't like being in that position. Still, I have a wonderfully efficient junior in today who is more than happy to nag to keep me on track.
Will have to go to the post office at lunchtime to send an item back but that will get me a £9 refund.
OH was unwell Monday, better yesterday and is fully recovered today. Am so relieved as he can be quite neglectful of his health.

Anyhow, gotta get a wiggle on. Another task for today is an expenses claim which should be around £350 so definitely a must do.

    Today I am grateful for
A short journey to work, it's grey and horrible out there
OH straightening an irritatingly crooked picture

  • Didn't get my expenses done but did get the item in the post. Went to m&s for lunch and they had a three for two on so am sorted for the rest of the week. They also gave me a £5 voucher off a £30 spend in September. That's the month when I'm allowed to start prepping for the December c day so if they have gifty type things on offer, I can pick those up. Also noticed that the dine in is on this weekend so the largest chook I can find will be picked up on my way home from dublin on Friday.

We got a lot of stuff out the door yesterday which was great. Two more pieces to go by this weekend and the pressure will be off. I'm thinking of taking next Monday to keep my OH company on his bank holiday.

Really need to get going but I was working intermittently at home last night until 9.30 so am struggling. Also need to put a face on today as I have a pass photo to be taken.

This evening, I have finally managed a hairdressers appt so it will be an early finish. Yay.

  • Omg, so hair lighter than ever and eyebrows fuller and darker than ever. I don't cope well with change and now see Denis Healy every time I catch a glimpse in a mirror. Still, the eyebrows and eye lashes were comped and I filled my loyalty card so a free blow dry now available for me. Not something I'd normally go for but handy if I've an evening work do to go to.

Apart from the faffing about that needs done, today will of necessity be a fairly light day just long. Still the sooner it's underway, the sooner the weekend arrives. Have to put some diesel in the car on my way to dublin. Am quite annoyed as I'll have to pay more than £1 a litre as I'll be buying in the north. Will only do a small top up and fill before coming home.

Anyhow, gotta get a wiggle on. Yay to the start of the weekend
