Hi INOD,
I know it's not the same but I spent a long time (11 years) in destructive behaviour because I was afraid to reach out for help as I could 'fix' it myself. The best thing I ever did was to finally reach out for help. You are not a failure and we all need help now and again:).0 -
Well, another Monday and need to get a wiggle on. Not sure what kind of day I will have but I will be sustained by the positive thoughts from the good people on here. Won't be an NSD as I'm meeting a friend for lunch. Yesterday, I transferred some money to the mortgage, avoided a Sunday night takeaway and sent one thing to the charity shop bag. I also watched two slightly kookie movies back to back though my concentration wasn't great. Anyhow, need to go and slay a few dragons in the office

Late...as usual! But echoing everyone else and I've been under a CPN before and it helped me no end. Absolutely not a failure, it's infact the opposite - get a stuck wiring system and it needs a bit of help detangling, that's all.
Free downloads of relaxation (20 mins out of life max) and mindfulness (seconds) might be useful.

I'm really pleased to hear that you are getting support. Sadly there's still a taboo about mental health but it really is exactly the same as having a physical health problem and I found that thinking of it like that really helped me to recover. I wasn't rubbish or a failure, I was just ill, and needed to get treatment to recover.
It is lovely that your kids are so close. I don't get to see my little brother much lately but we had a lovely long chat yesterday and it's so nice to have someone you can talk to or hang out with without putting on airs and graces.Mortgage (Start Sep 2014)- £70,295/£0 - 100%

So, one day closer to the weekend. On the MSE front, met my friend for lunch and she paid and I just covered the tip. Also, just drank water with my panini as she disapproves of anything fizzy and it does make sense. She doesn't judge but you know what she's thinking.
On the work front, boosted by the comments on here, I emailed my boss and advised him that things weren't great and that I didn't feel equipped to deal with unnecessary changes in the office. He didn't pry but just thanked me for letting him know. I just hope that he remembers.
I've realised that for me it's not so much the stigma that deters me from telling people but rather that I can't see a reason for how I feel. Also, as I suffer from emotional incontinence, it would be embarrassing for all parties if I launched into a discussion and ended up with people worrying that they had upset me when it's just how I feel.
Anyhow, onwards and upwards. In my case to bed. Not overly tired but at a bit of a loose end and that keeps me away from the cupboard of loveliness in the kitchen. Hope everyone's week got off to a good start.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. Another day and the highlight is lunch with one of my team and the boss almost by way of an apology to her for the flack she endured that lead to my complaint about a staff member. Am on the road for the next three days so need to get fully prepped for that. Also, need to get a report written to be discussed at nine in dublin on Friday. Feels like I will need an intravenous energy drink. I'm on the road at seven tomorrow, stay over wed night, get back hopefully around eight on Thursday, go to concert with OH (tix were a birthday present from him) then on the road at six on Friday. Fun and games.
Today I'm gonna see if I can get a late evening appt for a cut and colour. Not only do I need it but it'll mean that I get an extra 10 mins in bed tomorrow morning. Hope things are going well for everyone.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. When I hear of 'Black Dog' I always think of Led Zeppelin but that's probably just an age thing
.
You are sometimes very modest about your mortgage busting but your progress is absolutely fab and you will be MF in literally no time!! You also perform great with a responsible job and raised two loving parasites
!!
I know women are women but go easy with yourself INOD and pat yourself on the back. A lot of people are not up to doing what you can do and have done!! You know that anyway so with your abilities and achievements let yourself feel satisfied and happy now and then
