  • Well yesterday was a bit of a mixed bag spend wise. To thank the team for the v long Thursday, I brought in treats from the local bakery but cost was £7 and well worth the good will generated. Had to attend a lunchtime presentation where Sarnies were provided. So no spends throughout the day. Was out for dinner last night which required the withdrawal of my weekly spends. These are due each Monday but I try to defer as much as possible. Dinner cost a lot less than expected which is always good so total spends for yesterday were approx £30. This morning was a deep tissue massage costing £40. You really feel that you've been worked over but I'm expecting a good night's sleep and to feel so much better tomorrow. Stopped off on way home and got a top up grocery shop for £27 which included on offer mushrooms and broccoli along with bread, etc and the luxury that is clonakilty black pudding for OH. Am without any new vouchers for grocery shopping but am still gonna go to sainsburys later to purchase from the tu clothing range while it's on offer. That however will have to wait until after Ireland hopefully triumph at twickenham. Whoop whoop!

  • So much for saving money. Went to sainsburys, bought 2 blouses that at least cost less than £30. Also got a really reduced bed sheet and a cooked chicken reduced to £2.50. So tomorrow night's dinner is taken care off. I do however seem to be incapable of entering a supermarket and leaving with only the items I intended to buy.

  • Managed an NSD today. It's easier to do when you have a close to pj day. Ok so the positives. I used up some on their way out veg to make soup which is now in the fridge. Also did a monster batch of bolognese which is currently cooling in six containers. Five will go to freezer and one is for tomorrow night. We had the chicken for dinner tonight. It was so good. Had the money update chat with OH. Not sure he's that on board but seems to like my new little hobby. I'm just hoping that by forcing the subject into discussion every month, he may come round. Got various housey things done and managed to get into the garden to start the post winter tidy up. Today I'm grateful for

  • Loving your monthly discussion with OH - I think this is a great idea. Again, it's 'walking the walk' isn't it? So much easier to just wish people would take on board how we are thinking or feeling, but you're actually putting this into action. Go you!

I agree. At least you are not shoving it down his throat every day. Once a month will be much easier for him to deal with if he's not quite as on board as he could be.

  • Your massage sounds amazing. I might set that as a quit smoking goal as it could be a treat with the money saved.

Money discussions with the OH sounds like a good idea to get you both on message. If I ever find someone foolish enough to date me its a good way to make sure we're on the same page. I would of course wait until things were serious, I wouldn't want to scare the poor bloke on a second date.
