Have you ever actually wanted to kill someone? Asked OH what pick up arrangements are for his parents. Was greeted with a blank look followed by an I'll give them a call. Asked if he had their mobile number and the answer was that he would mention it as they don't always carry one. Begs the question how we will know when to get them after their concert on Sunday. DD has been an absolute star sorting out bits and pieces but I think it's a case of familiarity breeding contempt with OH who doesn't see the need to make an effort as it's just his parents.
Anyhow, to other matters, the plus point of the interview is that I wouldn't be embarrassed if I saw the panel members in the street. The minus is that based on how some of the questions were phrased, I think it will go to an internal candidate. Still, it was one that I'd have kicked myself if I hadn't gone for it.
It did clearly demonstrate that I have a great network of friends who don't mind offering and giving help. The take away for me has to be that I should be more willing to ask for this where appropriate.
I was also impressed by someone I'm not particularly close to who was a bit all over the process and keeping in constant touch etc. until yesterday. Within two hours I got a text asking for details of the nature and type of question as they may be of use to her in the future. I just wish that she'd mentioned that still the outset.
Anyhow, gotta get myself into gear. I'm going to witness a business continuity test at nine and then drop Friday treats into my team. Anyone who believes in prayer can pray that I don't attempt the murder of my OH before his parents' departure on Tuesday.
Today I am grateful for

Am just back from the airport drop off. Sigh of relief while feeling mean from being glad that they have gone. Bit of a spendy weekend due to meals out but we did get some nice food. The parents also donated approx €80 left over currency before they departed. We also have a lot of meat and chicken that will keep oh and dd going this week along with some salad bits. On other news, I still haven't found my finances book or my logins. I'm feeling a bit adrift without it. I think I'm going to go to the bank and get a mini statement and maybe start another book. Hope things are going well for everyone.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. The job is in the public sector so I've no idea how long it will take for the wheels to turn. I'm not overly hopeful which is a shame as I'd really like the post. It has helped to give me a kick where it was most needed and I've decided it's time to move on for a variety of reasons. One was that I interviewed someone I didn't think was suitable last Monday but got an email from the staff partner on Thursday saying she had accepted his offer. I'm fed up having to fit square pegs into round holes while having to cover recruitment agency fees from my budget. Still, I'm going in for a half day today as I may need extra leave to concentrate on other job opportunities.
This evening I am going to jog club. It's killing my knee but I feel better for sticking with it. Am now half way through the programme. On other news, I forgot to mention that I was grateful that my double crown only dislodged in my mouth about two hours after my interview! Must book a dental appt.
Anyhow, need to get started though my love affair with my bed grows ever stronger. Happy hump day everyone.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. Some good news, some bad. Didn't get the job but am considered appointable. While I'd have liked the post, I'm quite pleased that the interview went so well. I have asked for additional feedback. Have been to jog club and am getting able to run further for longer. My knee is sore but sometimes it gets sore when I'm sleeping so I might as well keep moving. Am now off to drown my sorrows in apple crumble and custard.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes.
