Sorry you didn't get the job, but really positive that they were impressed with you. I had to apply for my current job twice and the first time they encouraged me to try again as I was so close to getting it. This was back when there were jobs in the council...
Well done on your running! I've had knee problems in the past. It's very hard to work out exactly what's wrong with them. I used to run a lot (I was never fast but really enjoyed it) and found that I loved events, even if I came last. I miss it actually but haven't got enough time to commit to it at the moment.Mortgage (Start Sep 2014)- £70,295/£0 - 100%

Hi INOD
Just catching up with a few diaries. Sorry I wasn't here to wish you luck for the interview. Well done on surviving that and the in(competent)-laws - I am not sure I would have fared very well. I don't even do so well with my own parents!!
Sorry you didn't get the job but good feedback and glad it has pointed you in a new direction and given you energy to find a place that suits you rather than where you are now. Best of luck for your search. That is the thing I detest about job-hunting. More than the interviews.
Also impressed with your running. I am sitting with an ice pack under my knee from straining it too hard just walking more than usual  don't do yourself too much damage, you need your knees
Big hugs. xx

Well yesterday I wrote a war and peace post and lost it all. So that's the job for tomorrow. This evening I'm just finished a mug of tea and am heading to bed shortly. Right now, I am grateful for a comfy bed and the chance to have an early night.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. not quite sure what happened to me except from my head disappearing up an oriface. i'd been into my kondoing but ran out of steam and was stalled on my sock drawer. other bits and pieces were sent on their way but little to no progress had been made. enter superdave who tugged from the shoulders and got things underway again. still unsure as to why i stopped but this morning i finished to sock drawer, discarding as i went and now have a large deep drawer free (or while have when dd wakens and allows me to check for the match of 6 spare socks in her room of doom)
I also tacked the downstairs sideboard and have kondoed boxes from things freeing up so much more space and reducing the risk of breakages. yesterday, i got some help and clarity from OH. i explained my confusion about how to restart as i knew where some things should go but wasnt sure if i should put them there as that category of items hadnt been kondoed, his answer, put the things away and put kondoing those items onto a list. it seems so straightforward, why couldnt i have come up with that myself.
I have also been struggling moneywise due to the loss of my notebook that showedd bills, payments, logins, etc. I had still been using my coupons etc and keeping a record of where OPs had to be made. This morning however, OH printed out my scanned in log in details so I threw caution to the winds and OPed £495.23 to my mortgage account. This combined with Tuesday's monthly payment will bring my mortgage to below the 100k mark. i'm now aiming to overpay another £155 over the course of the month to keep it below that figure when my interest gets added on at the end of June. :T:T:T:T
On other news, didnt manage Wednesday's jog club. had migraine and a dodgy tummy so it wasnt a good option for me. i'll be back on Monday though. i just need to stick at it. did weigh myself this morning. still 4lbs heavier than the start of the year which generally means my sugar control is poor.
so, what else? last week got the all time bargain of the year. Had Ja8gar loyalty vouchers to use by end of May so headed to their outlet on the basis that we could always get OH another white share to have as a spare. instead i got a 100% wool full length black coat. starting proce £499, reduced several times to £99. they were have a 20% off day and i had £20 voucher so it cost £59. it's a total classic and is something that i will wear on work days in the winter.
also picked up onesies in M*S reduced to £5 each from £25 and got DS cheap chocs, including a chocolate Mr Bump from thorntonnes.
work wise, things are hectic but am just trying to focus on it paying the bills. am out with two friends tomorrow evening for dinner but it tends to be cheap and cheerful. DS is healing but not quickly enough to suit him and DD heads to USA to work for 3 months week after next. will miss both her and the dog who goes to stay with a friend who can spend time with her during the day.
anyhow, if you've made it to here, today i am grateful for
enduring patience:)

Just caught up on all your news INOD. Commiserations on the job front, I'm sure the positive feedback has softened the disappointment somewhat.
Glad to hear that your DS continues to heal. Has he got more use of his hands yet or is he still very reliant on others for day to day care? Poor thing must be so frustrated, I've no doubt Mr Bump will have brightened his day considerably
Don't feel guilty about being glad when your outlaws left. We recently had my cousin to stay. Whilst we'd have her back again willingly, hosting is hard work and it isn't pleasant feeling like you can't quite be off duty in your own home. It has confirmed to me that I could never share my home with lodgers unless I had a self contained flat to room them in.
I feel your frustration on the kondo front. I find I'm a bit all-or-nothing with it. I often start with grand plans and then run out of time or steam (or both)! It isn't an instant solution, but it does seem to work better than any other process I have come across. Stick with it, even if you are doing it on your own terms. Whilst I like her categories idea, I also like the snowball feeling of picking off the small fry, and knowing that room X is completely done. Cherry pick from it, and do what works for you and yours.know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -

Cut yourself some slack INOD - it's not as though you have been sitting around twiddling your thumbs. You've had the worry of DS, the visit from the iL's and the interview prep and hoop-jumping to contend with. I agree with pavlovs_dog - kondoing is something that can quite easily be set aside without necessarily losing momentum in the long run.
I haven't done any kondoing for an age - but we moved a whole heap of stuff out when we did - and it was easy. Today, we have sort of picked up the baton again, and have moved something out of the house, that has served it's purpose, and, unfortunately, being unrecyclable, had to be taken to the tip. But now that it has gone, there is room to remove more *stuff* (which can and will be recycled) and DP and I are feeling that we are making progress again
And we haven't had hurt children, visiting iL's nor job interviews to contend with - so more bad US! :rotfl: But we're making progress again - as are you, which is, actually the very important bit
And WELL DONE on taking your mortgage sub £100k :T:T:T:T:T - that takes you into 'Team Tilly Territory' - pretty super smashing place to be I reckon:D:D
So, chin up, you're doing more marvellously than you're giving yourself credit for. So it's a very good job you've us here to [STRIKE]nag[/STRIKE] cheer you on :T:T:j:j:beer:

To quote Greying, visitors, how nice. Even nicer that they are all so lovely and supportive. Tonight I had pasta bolognaise with the sauce coming from the freezer. It's been an age since I've had it accompanied by whoopsied garlic bread. I'm not one to sing my own culinary praises but the home made sauce delicious. Mentioned to OH our mortgage target for this month. He checked his £co and tcb accounts and withdrew £175. On one hand I'm happy, on the other I could kill him for not taking the cash and making or saving some interest with it. I did put his advice into action again today and tidied away jewellery that I'd left out to clean. I think I'm just going to diary a total clean of all my bits and pieces next weekend. DS is clearly recovering. He has reverted to type and not answering when I call. He did however call back this evening and continues to tell me that he's improving.
Two items identified for the charity shop and a drawer of stuff to be investigated when dd (a hoarder in training) is away for the summer.
DD will get her shifts this evening for the next week and if she has a weekend evening off, the plan is to kondo the alcohol and freezer contents and have a barbecue for her friends and ours. I'm always a bit nervous of opening the house to friends. That whole is it good enough feeling but I need to learn how to deal with this and the only way is by doing it. It does help though to have dd on hand as she has a take us as you find us attitude.
Anyhow, bed beckons. Today I am grateful for

What's that old saying? 'Friends come to see you, not your house'. DD has it right ...we call it the 'lived in look'
. Relax and you'll enjoy.
Dinner sounded good and OH's financial contribution makes that a very good day :T
