  • DS got his casts off today and replaced with splints. Exercises are starting on one arm so it looks like there is progress. How ironic is it that the wrist nurse went to school and uni a few miles from here and played basketball with one of his school friends. Not what you expect in Central London.

Looks like I have a one in nine chance of my new job with interviews happening over two or three days. I'm first up on day two which is good as I think it's harder for the first or last candidates to do well. Also had the offer of help from a friend to do some prep. I'm definitely gonna take her up on that.

Tomorrow I have a breakfast meeting and then a two o'clock for an hour but that's me. I'm also going to chase up the car guys as they still haven't confirmed my new car which could leave me in the automatic on Thursday to drive approx 230 miles. I'm not happy. Still, as first world problems go, it could be a lot worse.

Today I am grateful for supportive friends and colleagues.

Small world with the nurse :). Similar happened when my Dad was in hospital 20 odd years ago, the Consultant had gone to Uni with my Uncle. They spent more time catching up rather than telling us what was happening though :rotfl:

Sounds like very good progress for DS moving from plaster to splint already. Hopefully it's lifted your and his spirits to be moving forward in the healing process.

Useful information on the interview to have, where you are in the order is good. All sounding very positive and great you have hands on help for the prep.

And you're still in the automatic . Rocket up rear end time? ;)

    Hi INOD

Just checking in. Good to see DS is out of casts already and onto splints and exercises. That should make life easier. How is his pain?

Well done on the shortlisting for the interview. You will blow them away I am sure, conscientious, hard-working and you have great leadership skills and empathy. All fantastic qualities for any job-position. I will be cheering you on from here!

What a small world with the Dr's, consultants, nurses!! xxx

Glad to hear DS is doing well :).

Hope the driving goes smoothly today INOD unlike me yesterday who in a blockage took 7 hours to drive 50 miles :(

I got so stiff, I could hardly walk when I got out of the car :o

  • So, did jog club Wednesday evening. I'm getting worse. I also did the sainsbugs shop and used my £12 off voucher so an op is needed. Weird thing is I don't go near my bank account in the run up to month end. I get paid a few days pre month end but it is only due on last banking day so I pretend it's not there as I don't want to get used to early payments in case there is a blip some day.

Went to dublin yesterday and decided I will be car free rather than deal with that thing. Icing on the cake was the flat tyre warning that came on with indicators on all four tyres. Happily my last meeting have fleet maintenance on site who felt it was more likely to be an electrical issue as they couldn't find an issue with the tyres.

Still had 120 miles to do at no more that 55 mph. Called DS yesterday evening and found him whimpering in pain. So he plays down his injuries but can't cope with removing dressings to clean his wounds as it hurts his skin!

Apart from that, pretty much slept the evening away until being sent to bed. Need to have a productive weekend as have lots to get through as OH's parents arrive two weeks today which is the day after my interview.

  • So glad of the long weekend. Am tired and fed up of the cold and the rain. Dog and I are curled up on the sofa contemplating all that needs done but not bothering to do any of it. Oh well. Am determined to stick to housey things so this weekend should be low spend and hopefully high kondo. As a result of having weeded out some items, I was able to take back some books from dd's room and put in a bookcase. She has the most cluttered space so I'm hoping that by taking things from her room, she may see the benefits!

    Hey INOD,
So sorry to hear about your DS. I've been AWOL so haven't been keeping up with people. What happened (please feel free to tell me to butt out). Sending hugs and good wishes to you both.
Lots of luck with the interview - I'm sure you'll do great!
    Hugs,
