don't tell satchmo but it's what it causes me to do to my sugar levels that's the big concern. still, i am moving more than usual - can't sit still. today i did my tcb and ebay profit transfers plus the £12 sainsbug voucher used today. It's ridiculous how little you get for £60 but there are some extra nice bits and pieces for everyone even the dog!
still no word from either offspring but hopefully that means that they are both resting a bit. how weird a thought that is!
thanks again everyone for the good wishes. they are truly appreciated.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. I can hardly talk, INOD, I've spent the last week sugar-binging! Let's agree to draw a veil over it and start anew. I feel like I've got a hangover, purely from too much chocolate.
I do hope your DS got the best treatment and is soon on the mend. Double ouch to both wrists,What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0 -
Satchmo, I start a jog belfast programme on Monday so that will hopefully help with the sugar. The expected pains may make a journey to the cupboard too sore.
DS is out of hospital and taking good painkillers. His sister is making him watch stupid movies and dragged him as far as the shop yesterday. We booked to go next fri and sat. His father is going next wed but I'm not sure for how long. I just can't be bothered with him over the way he treats his children but that's a totally different story. Yesterday was a long day, lots of travel and things popping out of woodwork. Today I am office based which means I can nip home to let the dog out at lunchtime. First things first though, I need to go in early but not to the office and hopefully get tix to a Michael Palin show in October that will be two birthday presents.
Thanks for all the support. Hope everyone manages that crunchie feeling.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. Well, got one thing cleared up work wise yesterday but got hit with a bombshell where my temporary car had to be changed for another temp car. No one told me it was an automatic. I've never driven one before and I'm a nervous wreck. Anyhow, I have to make do for another week. Fingers crossed no trips to dublin are required. No news from either of the parasites so I'm guessing things have settled down a bit. I'm cautious about calling in case DS is getting some sleep as his night time rest isn't easy. In the meantime I'm fielding calls from non helpful relatives who ask about brittle bones, his lack of weight, etc and other imagined contributory factors that we send me into a panic if they weren't so ludicrous.
He's incredibly active so despite eating like pacman carries no weight and picks up more injuries than average as he's incredibly active and an adrenal junkie.
Anyhow, to other news, serious kondoing will occur of random boxes I have held onto just in case. A few clothing items en route to the charity shop too. Am a bit antsy so need to Declutter to avoid the feeling of rooms closing in on me.
Hope everyone has a good day.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. I'm sorry you are feeling so anxious, but it's a good use of that energy to attack the clutter.
Have you been able to talk to DS yet? Does DD have a mobile phone - can you ring/text her to check, without disturbing DS?What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0 -
Hi satchmo, I have spoken to him but it was while dd was holding the phone to his ear so it was a bit short and not too reassuring as all he could tell me was that he had no memory of his feedback from the surgeon. I know that he's been well looked after but kinda don't believe he's ok until I see for myself. He's so independent, he will rarely admit to needing help.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. Hi INOD
Glad to hear DS op was dealt with swiftly. I am in the SE of England and can vouch for the fact that the hospitals do seem to expedite things very quickly as so many operations are cancelled, if they have a willing participant they will slice you up the same day. I've had to leave work an hour early to prep for a trip to the hospital the next morning at 6am to start an op so hopefully he was just the lucky beneficiary of a cancellation spot rather than that it was something that needed attending to fast.
As for your DD< bless her. I HATE hospitals, and much more so when I have to hang around waiting for news. I love automatic carsin fact I can't drive manual but fly in automatics!
Hope you have a peaceful day de-cluttering. 2 bin bags down and 2 bags to charity so far today! x

I'm in the disliking Automatic camp - a case of feeling I lose a bit of control over the car and have a spare leg :rotfl:
Useful advice I was given is, if you can, bend spare leg at the knee and have ankle/ foot go under accelerator/brake leg. Weird, but works for the brain quickly to remember no clutch action needed
Keeping busy sounds like the best plan and hopefully the days will pass quickly until you get to see him for yourselfBack on the DFW Wagon:
