  • Monday yeuck but I should manage my Wednesday off this week. Am in dublin Tuesday and Thursday which should present a minor issue for the car lease people as my replacement is only in place until Wednesday. OH still feeling rough and has agreed to not go into work today. It's not often he sees sense. I have lots to get through today so better get a wiggle on. Take care everyone.

  • Today DS called to say his surgery had been brought forward to tomorrow. Cue major panic to get dd on a flight this evening to be with him. Am not sure how I feel about it. It's good that he's getting treated sooner but I can't help wondering if things are worse than he's telling me. Grateful for the emergency fund as today was another £200 killed. It was cheaper to book from scratch than to change a flight. OH still feeling a bit ropey and I'm in dublin tomorrow so the dog will be on her own for a full day. I hate when that happens. However, need to get some stuff sorted while watching masterchef. If it occurs to anyone tomorrow, please send good wishes in DS's direction. Who'd be a parent!

Shall send positive vibes to DS tomorrow and be thinking of you too INOD - and your doggie home alone for the day. Is she fully better now?

Fingers crossed DD will have good news post-surgery to share with you. :)

  • Dd called half nineish last night. He was back on the ward and as high as a kite. We have no idea what was done or how it went but he came through it. It's his first ever op under a general so there's always a concern as no one can predict how he will react. Hopefully we will find out more today. I did tell dd to try and get a decent night's sleep. While I could cheerfully throttle my two, esp when they are together, they totally have each other's back and she hung around the hospital from nine yesterday til after ten last night. Those places are so draining. She also called at one point quite upset as he couldn't be located via patient records. Today I am grateful for
A lovely nurse who went out of her way to find him both while working and again when she was heading off duty.

Glad to hear DS is safely through yesterday and what a trooper DD is. That's one heck of a long time anywhere, let alone a hospital.

Look after yourself too, worrying uses up alot of energy. Pot and kettle I know ;)
