Oh my goodness me. I do hope that you are okay INOD and had a better and calmer day today. I also hope that your complaint is looked at properly, dealt with and resolved in a way you are happy with. Sending you big strong hugs. Methinks you need to make some easy chocolate torte and wallow in it. Actually if you are, can I come? :rotfl:

Oh no, INOD, I hope you didn't resort to chocolate comfort as that wouldn't help in the long run. Best of luck with the complaint process, it won't be pretty, but make sure you write out your facts as well as your feelings.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?
  • Work is over and done with for the next week or so and I'm leaving everything at the office door. Heard about two deaths one this week and one a few years back that I was unaware of so have a funeral to go to this afternoon. Apart from that my plan is to spend time on my home. I fell out of love with it when my marriage was in its final throes but stayed here as my children wanted to maintain it as their home. Then the ex bought a property round the corner which didn't endear my to this place any more. However, I'm here and a lot of time has elapsed and I do actually like the house. I just need to keep on kondoing and then make better use of what remains. So, today's plan is to go to the shops early on and pick up the bits and pieces we need, get some laundry and deal with three piles of stuff that have accumulated in my hall. Also need to log into bank and pay the credit card, etc before meeting a friend at 1.30 to go to the funeral. I worked through my tea towels during the week. These used to spread across two kitchen drawers and are now comfortably contained in one. I may tackle some stuff in the dining room to enable sideboard drawers to open without a fight. As always, thanks for all the support.

  • Did the shopping and got enough in change to make up a £20 bag to lodge when the bank opens. I also have a £28 inbox£s cheque to lodge and I have 50p that the parking meter rejected so I chanced not paying and got away with it. I got another £2 voucher from gfk so that's towards the present fund. Also restocked the present cupboard with some items today that were on sale with further reductions. Tomorrow I do battle with the house. Dropped some stuff to the charity shop today and apart from the funeral, that was pretty much it. Oh, I applied for a new job yesterday which was the closing date. Met one of the other candidates today. Am back to having second, third and forth thoughts. Still, poldark beckons on catch up. Hope everyone is having a good break.

  • Hope you have a good week off, those savings look good and good luck with the job application.

It's amazing how much you've paid off your mortgage!

  • Well the good news is I finally transferred cash to the mortgage and updated my sig. Also paid my credit card. Bad news is DS called to say he has broken both wrists and has damaged one knee. That's the downside of sport. Does anyone believe that you ever reach the stage of not worrying about them. Good thing is we have an emergency fund that will cover cost of either me or dd going over to help with hospitals, scans etc. it just reinforces how essential this is. He will be off work for quite a while so if needs be, it can also go towards some of his expenses if needs be as he doesn't know what his sick pay arrangements will be. Am feeling sick right now. He shares a house with some friends but it's not the same as family when things go wrong. Just wish he could come home but it's not practical as he has a scan tomorrow and an appt on Friday.

    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • Well, dd spoke to her brother last night. He's even hard to contact as you don't want to waken him when he manages some sleep and email etc is difficult for him to reply to. He was adamant that he didn't need any help - typical male! She however has sold it that it's her only chance to get her expenses paid for a trip to see him so she's taking it. She has a shift today and tomorrow then nothing until Sunday so she flies first thing tomorrow and stays until Sunday morning.

Upside was that I couldn't settle myself at all yesterday, taught her boyfriend to roll towels and tea towels and generally tidied and cleared things out which is a plus. This kondoing thing is starting to take over a bit. Is it normal to waken up with a solution as to how a drawer can be organised? Today I am grateful for

What a time you've had of it this past week

Glad DD has got in there to go and see DS and hope his recovery goes smoothly.

    And your work too :(

Great news on your OPs - I'm soooo far behind you and might have to chop mine back a bit with a plan to split surplus income between pension/mortgage op/saving. And I expect ex to stop paying maintenance when DS is 16 so I'll have to support him through last year of school, As and Uni without that chunk of help.

I daren't look into Kondoing :rotfl:
