£35 for me, should be enough if I hit up the outdoor rummage stall for outerwear and I can do basic button replacement, zip swapping etc. I do seem to go through a lot of socks for some reason....but bras and trousers are my immediate concern.0

2 vest tops and a shirt bought from Sainsbugs yesterday. They had 25% off everything and my sumer clothes are reaching the end of their natural lifespan now
Speaking of which my favourite knickers have a holebut I have plenty of underwear (bit of a junky pre mse) so they will be binned and not replaced.

So no spends to declare but I have spent the day clearing out my wardrobe and now have 2 bags of clothes for the charity shop and one for ebay (I will get round to it one day).
Doing this made me realise just how old and out of fashion a lot of my clothes were. I'm going to aim to slowly update things but I've realised that I'm a 35 year old woman trapped in the 90s style wiseand I need inspiration.
So, I'm here to ask all you lovely ladies (and gents) what your top 3 wardrobe must haves are and anything you think I should avoid like the plague.

Had to buy a new qork top this weekend as one of mine has an unreparable hole in it. I only have 4 work tops and 2 jumpers I wear for work (hoping I won't need jumpers now) so was a necessity. The flowery trousers I bought at the same time weren't though
£26 spend in Matalano.

Hi all,
no new spends to report.
FFloozie - have a look on pinterest -there are some nice ideas
my 3 top things in my wardrobe must be
jackets-especially my biker jacket
skinny jeans
ankle boots
Are you lot still wearing bootcut jeans?
my friend says they are out of fashion. but I like them in summer with flip flops/ sandals/ pumps.
the above worn with skinnies, I think, can look a bit clown feet, even though I'm only size 4 1/2.
not that I follow every fashion , but don't want to;
a. look out of date
or
b. not wear a perfectly good pair of jeans.:cool:0 -
I can't afford to follow fashion and bin perfectly wearable bootcut jeans.
I like my long tunic tops to wear over jumpers/blouses in winter and solo in summer, dual purpose items.
Scarves are a great way to lift an outfit and cheap too, I have a range of plain and floral ones.
Knickers. I have said this before, but will repeat.
Primarni's Sloggi type looky likies, 3 for £5.50 last time I bought some , Do Not Wear Out.
One of my pairs has developed a small ladder but I have another 26 pairs, (!) some of which must be 5 -6 years old now. I kept picking up a pack of three every time I was in Primarni, and the pile just grew... They wash like dishrags and dry quickly too. They have even outlasted an original pair of Sloggis that cost 4x the price.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Omar: I'm the same as you skinnies with long tops/cardies and boots in the winter and bootcuts with tshirts/sweatshirts/hoodies and trainers/converse in the summer!
Flacos: I'm no fashionista my sister says I dress like a teenage boy! (and I'm 44 now) (in fact I have a nearly teenage boy!)
Bought 2 t shirts and summer cotton trousers (grey) at weekend so £40 added to my sig. That should be it now except some sandals but don't need them yet.Crazy clothes challenge 140/1800 -

I'm not particularly fashionable, but.....
A nice mid-thigh coat that's warm, pretty windproof and smart enough to be worn to most things so you don't have to take it off when you arrive somewhere. It should also come in at the waist and flare out past the hips. Incredibly flattering and practical....
Also the jeggings that are bootcut jeans, normal denim but with an elasticated waist, they're good for when you're bloated and if you drop a few pounds they won't start slipping down. Just keep the waistband out of view (I tend to wear T-shirts which are a little long so I don't generally worry). Dark is a bonus (for me) as it slims the thighs.
...£2 spent so far, but it was on an Apt. 9 jacket which just needed a plain black button replacing, and can be worn with opaque tights in Summer.0 -
thanks I will definitely wear the bootcuts. :T
They are really nice ones from Next - skinny to knee, then bootcut and fit really well. I've also remembered I wore them last summer with some summery boots that don't go with skinnies.
I have to focus and remember I'm lining MY pockets from now on and not the fashion industry.:p
btw my friend is rich so can do what she likes:cool:0 -
Omarsgirl - I look ridiculous in skinny jeans! Partly because I have tree trunk legs and partly because I have huge hips. Bootcut jeans hide both issues0
