Arsenal it wasnt aimed at anyone in particular my one persons opinion. More my trying to explain how I don't reply to every poster as I have on other threads in the past and gone out of my way to be helpful spending my time and effort helping people for them to disappear without even saying thanks or acknowledging my post?!
Seeing as my opinion has caused upset I'm leaving.
Good luck to you all on your journeys ill no doubt lurk from time to time xStarted sw 02/09/13 - total loss so far -5st 1lb

Mildredd & arsenal (& anyone else for that matter)- Please dont leave the thread. Not everyone replies to my posts but thats fine. Thats how forums work...likewise i dont reply to everyone either unless i have something specific to say to that person.
2B - Please put me down for a 1lb loss :T
I have noticed that MSE bods have blocked quite a few words - M A G I C , L O V E & also S A L E. There is a thread in the feedback forum on this - apparently its do with spambots.
ETA - Looks like love & lovely are back to normal now.

No I haven't because I'm not too keen on the chicken style pieces either! Thanks for that - that explains it !!
Well done on your loss.
Mildredd you will certainly not be leaving the thread!! lol
Arsenelbarnie you are more than welcome as is everyone and all new people - all contributions are welcome from everyone. I know exactly what Mildredd is saying - please don't take unnecessary offence at an expressed opinion.
It is a fast moving thread and it can be hard to read all and comment on all - and it would be impossible to even try.
We are all here to help each other where and when we can - sometimes what we say needs no response at all just having the freedom to post does us the word of good.
So can we draw a line under this now? I love this wee thread and wouldn't like to see it lose its positivity!
Lets concentrate on what we are all here to do which it loose weight! xx0 -

No problem, I hope you find some things that you will enjoy
I'm not sure what ETA stands for (new to this forum business!) but they are absolutely amazing! I must make some more soon!
Re other diets. I have tried healthy eating, just cutting out the rubbish & eating salads for lunch quite a lot of years back. I lost one stone, then got to the weight I wanted to be and put two stone back on!
I joined WW and I did enjoy the diet, I'd always save my points for some of their pudding range, but I got bored of counting points for everything very easily so didn't stick to it.
SW is my third attempt, and hopefully last! I am really enjoying it so far as it is something that I can stick to for life and I'm at the stage now where I kind of know what I'm doing and what is/isn't syn free so am not always having to check what I eat.0 -
sarymclary wrote: »Out of interest, I was wondering how many other diets we may have all done, with varying degrees of success, and how we felt they affected or benefited us.
So, what have you guys done?
A bit like denise, SW is the only 'diet' I've ever done and I'm a convert!! I stayed the same weight and dress size for all my adult life and then a combination of things (stressful job, grabbing food on the go from garages, nightly consolation in wine glass) made me put weight on gradually over about ten years. I crept up from a small size 12 to size 16 getting too tight and decided enough was enough. I hated being fat and from lokking at the sample menus etc decided that SW would probably suit me best. So here I am!!ruby_eskimo wrote: »
It's going to be a long (extra easy) day at work today so I've come prepared food wise;
Breakfast - Activia 0% yogurt, 3 plums and a banana
Lunch - Tomato and Pepper soup, 1 laughing cow light blue cheese triangle (1.5 syns), 2 clemetines
Snacks - Cucumber, pepper and cherry tomatoes
Dinner - Carrot, kidney bean and cumin burgers with 2 slices of low low cheese (HEX), salad and a jacket potato
Evening Snack - Cup of tea with skimmed milk (0.5 syns), 2 alpen light bars (HEX)
That looks more like a Green Day to me ruby, then you needn't syn the laughing cow or the milk either (haven't worked it out but I'm sure you could make up a HEA between them and the some) and you'd have a HEB going spare.
I'm out for a pub meal this evening and could have steak, JP and salad but may go for chips. Breakfast baked beans and HEB, lunch a bowl of HM veg soup. So loosely on plan but some reining in needed. It's a fine balance at target.
Sorry some of you feel the need to up and go. I think it better to just accept that just as in RL you can't agree with everyone all of the time. I think 'leaving the thread' happens a lot on message boards, a new aspect of modern life. But if that's your choice then, sorry to hear it, thanks for your contributions and virtual company and hopefully you'll be around again sometime soon. I know I find this thread even more useful than going to group and it helps me keep on track.
I'm having a problem using the SW site at the moment so maybe asking for syn values myself!!0
