Morning all. I am loving my new breakfast - chopped apple, muesli, cinnamon and Vanilla ML. But how stupid am I? for some reason i had it in my head it was 25g muesli as HEB - which TBH was pitiful. I checked again today and its 35g ;p i've been robbed!
Is museli on the list as a Hex b? Ooh what brands can we have please? Your breakfast sounds lush

Was supposed to be a Green day today but DH didn't want to take the LO chicken leg & roasted veg from last night for his lunch today so I'm going EE today and will have the Green day tomorrow.
B: bacon, scrambled eggs, beans, mushrooms
L: LO chicken leg & roasted veg5 spice duck breast with stirfry veg & noodles
HEA: milk in tea throughout the day
HEB: no idea, may have some toast at some stage during the day
Syns: again, no idea - only had 0.5 yesterday as ended up not needing the pink 'n' white! If I have some toast I'll push the boat out and have some real butter, 5.5 syns
Hope everyone has a good day and good luck to those with WI today.

Morning all (again sorry for the pity party yesterday...we all have our moments at times don't we!)
Hubby is having the remainder of that abomination of a "macaroni cheese" from the SW mag for lunch today *spits* - I did not like it one bit!!
Today's food:
B: 2 boiled eggs, ML yog and some fruit (gonna have to pop to the shop as I forgot to bring any!
L: ham, cheese and salad sandwich (HEX a and b) with extra light salad !!!!! (1 syn?) with ML and yogCottage pie (I have my own recipe where I add a tin of baked beans and put in chilli powder so it's more like a chilli topped with mashed pots...it's really nice.
(I find that I'm quite happy to have the same breakfast and lunch every day but I HAVE to have variety in my evening meals or I get really, really bored...)
Still on the wagon...who's stupid idea was it to have FIVE weekends in January!!
(Trying to figure out why salad c r e a m has been edited like I was saying bad words lol!!)0 -

You are more than welcome to post on this thread arsenalbarnie - I know you from the giving up/cutting down thread and know you are definitely a contributor.
I always read the posts on here but don't post very often as I feel that when I do, I don't get much response as my problem is that I keep going below my target range and I struggle to maintain. I may be wrong but I get the feeling that annoys some of the other posterswhich I can understand as they are struggling to lose weight.
I do hope you come back and keep posting0 -

Don't take it personally, I think it was meant in a more general sense. For those who have been contributing to this thread in the long-term, imagine how many people pop up for a week or so asking lots of questions, then disappear. Those of us that keep popping back, well we eventually become part of the regular contributors, and we all ask questions from time to time, and we all help each other.
Well done on the loss too, brilliant result!
However I am fuming that the 'helper' tutted at my weight gain and remarked that isn't like you!!! So what I've gained twice since I started 1lb total!!! Fume!!! How dare she really :@
It seems the 'helper' is vicariously enjoying your successes, or maybe, just maybe, she's gratified to see you are human, and not simply a weightloss machine :rotfl: let's face it, the people on the 'top table' arent' exactly subjected to an interview to consider their appropriateness for the role are they?
My sister asked me last night how the ladies who do the money/weighing are chosen, because some seem completely useless... I said it was either because they've reached target, or they know someone else at the tables. The woman who takes the money at our's can't ever work the little machine that the card goes into (she's in her 80's mind), and the queue just gets longer and longer, especially at this time of year when numbers are swelled, but will they put her on the cash tin bit? Nope, despite the fact she gets more and more flustered about it. That said, the ladies on the weighing bit are much better organised, and are very supportive, they insist a 1/2lb loss is a 'whole half pound loss' :T
Right, I've already decided what I'm having to eat today, so I may as well put it down here now. I'm still trying to keep things mixed up to do the 3 plans.
Food plan today:
Green Day
B - Porridge HEB1, Mullerlight, banana
L - Savoury Rice, mushrooms, cabbage, leeks. Activia banana & toffee 2.5 syns
D - Omelet, cheese HEA1, onions, peppers, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, pickled onions. Dressing 1 syn. Ketchup 1 syn.
HEA2 - milk in teas
Total syns = 4.5 syns
I've not decided whether to have my 2nd HEB as 90g of ham with my omelet, if not, I may have a slice of wm bread, or a Kellogs Chewy bar.
It's a bit light on syns too, but I do tend to try make my meals filling, so that I don't look to go picking at stuff. Maybe I'll have a treat later, if so, I'll be sure to let you know
Good luck to those weighing in today, I hope you get the result you're after.
I think as we are now at the end of the 3rd week of the year, some may be tempted to fall off the wagon, or are struggling to stay on plan. My advice is to really try to stick with it, because the longer you do, the more likely you are to naturally adapt to healthy eating in the long-term.
Out of interest, I was wondering how many other diets we may have all done, with varying degrees of success, and how we felt they affected or benefited us.
I've done many over the years, well I am a lady of a certain age, don't you knowI've done SW a couple of times in the past, with good results, but I always tended to plateau, which led to loss of focus, I'm determined to not do that this time. I've also done a ketosis vlcd, with meal replacements, where I lost weight very quickly, kept it off a few months, then I had an intense relationship with McDonalds for a few months, and put it all back on! I did try WW *spits* too, but only lost about a stone on that, and was bliming starving all the time. Oh, and also slimfast, I did that too, and lost 2 stone, at the same time I joined the gym and it did have a quick effect, but again, it goes on fast too. This time around I have the most to lose, and I blame the vlcd in part for that. I feel slightly guilty that I just sold on my packs I had left over for £80
So, what have you guys done? One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home0 -
Hi Sary,
I did weightwatchers twice before - was always starving and lost about a stone both times before I quit.
I did my own low carb when I was 21 (13 years ago) this worked well and I lost about 3 stone and kept it off until 2006 when I started to pile it on again after a bad break up.
When I started at SW I was the biggest I have ever been and this has been the most I have ever lost - funnily enough I am now at the weight I graduated from Uni at.
I did try SW 4 years ago before this attempt - but my heart wasn't in it and I left after 3 weeks - it was a massive group and I felt a bit intimidated and the consultant didn't explain the plan very well so I assumed that it just wasn't going to work for me and left.
I !!!! SW as it means you can still have treats, don't have to go hungry and it does work. For me as someone who !!!!s food and is also an emotional eater it is something sustainable that I can stick too.
I've told myself that I will be going to group for the rest of my life or else I'll just pile it all back on again. I really hope I stick to that commitment !!0 -

Ok, here goes: I have done:
WW (several times),
SW (several starts),
low carbing (Atkins and dietician's version) and the CALP diet
meal replacements
XLS medical tablets
intermittent fasting (14:10)
Paul McKenna's plans
They all had some success, my problem is doing something long term and keeping the weight off, emotional eating.
The low carbing is quite good the CALP (carbohydrates addict Lifespan Programme) where you eat low carb all day apart from 1 hour a day where you can eat carbs with a meal etc called a reward meal, but with my history of dieting I find those kind of diets far too restricting and can't do it longer than about a week before I cave in and go on a binge.
and I am still morbidly obese:eek:
