So far I've put yesterday's laundry away (or at least moved it to the correct room), the dryer is on with the first load and the WM is on with our bedding.

DS2 is up and playing on the Wii, I've had breakfast and am now trying to decide on which job to tackle next. A quick bath and then the washing up, I think.

Anyone for a HHC at 10.15?

I've been trying really hard to keep my kitchen clear, which has really helped recently! I reckon I can go for the full levels today. I was really hoping that bedrooms would come up, because tbh, mine's a bit of a midden! If I finish the kitchen this morning though, I will tackle the bedroom with a series of HHC's, so I can sleep in splendour tonight and wake to calm tomorrow!

Monday Bathrooms and a bit of Everything Else
    Only got 15 minutes...

[STRIKE]S&S toilets and sinks (including the kitchen)[/STRIKE]
    30 minutes to spare....
HHI - washing isn't dry yet so can't do it until tomorrow!!
    [STRIKE]Clean the bath and/or shower
Wipe any dusty surfaces in the bathroom[/STRIKE]
    Got an hour....
    [STRIKE]Meal plan for the week
Declutter floors not just into a box or binbag to hide away, try to put things where they belong, a home for everything will make life easier
Sweep/mop/hoover floors you can now see[/STRIKE]

New Year's Eve - Kitchen and Dining Room
    Only got 15 minutes...

Wipe the table and work surfaces put everything away that shouldn't be there
    Descale kettle, iron, taps etc
    30 minutes to spare....
    Sweep/mop/hoover floors
Wipe kickboards or legs of cupboards and tables
    30 minutes to spare....
Wash or exchange washing up brush, teatowels, cloths, dusters
    Declutter one cupboard
Dust any furniture in the dining Room

    Extras
Some me time enjoying your own company!
[STRIKE]Are any thank you notes/phone calls still outstanding[/STRIKE]

p.s. Was going to 'declutter' (charity shop) and old leather-style magazine basket, but realised it holds the yarn for the blanket I am working on perfectly and looks fab by my sofa. Keeping it and feeling happy as it looks so much tidier than keeping it all in random bags!

    Morning!

Been to chemist - nearly ran out of DD meds and meant to get some the last 3 times we were out. That wouldn't have been pretty! Now have a nice large bottle!

I have two of DDs tshirts to iron, and a small wash to do but probably no ironing from that. I want to have a spare room sort this afternoon, lots of decs to go in loft (will probs take tree down tomorrow) and some bedding to sort through. Might take some bin bags and sticky labels up with me...

Also need a mini paperwork sort and might attend to my eyebrows before going to my friends later. Don't want to scare the children

My plan to make life easier for 2014 is meal planning. Other than that I just want to be a bit happier. Having 2.5 weeks off work and home with the kids has reminded me what my priorities are, and how much fun they can be <right now they are on pretend phones, DS asking for a parcel :rotfl: and DD saying there's no parcels anymore as it's not christmas now, but he can have her purple dressing up shoe :D>

I second Pinterest for anyone seeking inspiration. I have some fab ideas for DD room. It's very American, but lots of ideas can be adapted, even if the products aren't readily available. DD loves dressing up and thanks to Pinterest I'll be making her a small hanging rail under her new midsleeper bed to hang her fairy dresses :D

Mix one teaspoon of ground nutmeg (freshly grated or pre-ground) with one and a half teaspoons of milk -- you want to make a thinnish paste. Cleanse your skin however you usually would, then gently rub the nutmeg mixture over your face for a minute or two.

Thanks for that Fizz. I buy spices at the Chinese supermarket around the corner, and they don't do feeble supermarket sizes. I have a nutmeg mountain to get through, so this sounds just the ticket.
I just lurk and keep reading all your lovely posts.

Welcome back, Kazwookie. Devil Cat is a nightmare when OH has been away for even one night. He is a bitey, squeaky little monster for about 24 hours, or at least until he gets a serious amount of testosterone attention. I don't count, apparently, whether I'm here or not, nor do my ministrations.

I'm dealing with 3kg of whoopsied onions and the house stinks.
    Better is good enough.

    Morning all :D

I've decided to do my own list today to get as much of the house clean & put away by the New Year. I'm hoping if I can clean out as much of 2013 today as possible, then 2014 will be more prosperous ;) So todays plan:

    Livingroom:
    Take down garlands / Cards
Put all decorations away (except DDs tree. Thats her job)
Label dec boxes so I know where stuff is next Christmas
Wash Christmas linens and put away when bone dry
binbag dance (probably only a carrier bag)
    Dust
    Vacuum

Kitchen (I have a small kitchen, so it sounds more work than it actually is ;))
    Wash up
Clear off tops of cupboards and put DDs goody tins up there.
    Tidy food cupboard/shelves up.
    Wash cupboard fronts/shelves/WM/TD/kickboards
    Wash worktops
    Clean out fridge
Clean window (inside only - chucking it down here)
    Wash floor mats
    Vacuum
    Mop

    DD Bedroom
    Put Christmas decoration boxes away
Find homes for her gifts (I was going to leave it to her, but her room looks so unsightly atm I'm going to do it myself)
    Laundry away
    Change bed
    Dust
    Vacuum
    Clean window
Take calender down, write dates on DDs noticeboard and then bin calender

    My Bedroom
Take calender down & bin it
    Clear all clutter away
    Remake bed
    Vacuum
    Dust
    Clean window
Binbag dance (again only probably a carrier bags worth)

    Bathroom
    Wash shelves
    Clean up shower rail
    Clean sink/bath/toilet
Chuck toilet brush (I get a new one every new year)
    Vacuum
    Mop
Post bath after all cleaning done: S&S bath/sink, clean towels/mat

    Hall/stairs/landing
    Vacuum
    Dust
    Clean brass on front door
    Clean front door

    General:
    Shredding
Laundry: Dark bedding, light bedding, DDs bedding (1 full load on its own!)
    Ironing
    Eat properly!
    Update finances
Pay work account (check money to pay other bills first)
Watch my progs on the DVR so DDs progs can be recorded as we're fast running out of space!

Right, well now I've finished my breakfast coffee I best get a move on if I want to achieve all this :o I'm off for a HHC of clearing decoration boxes which are all over my livingroom.
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.
Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!

    All ironing finished!

Just 1 load of washing left in the WM but that hasn't finished yet. I might strip the beds later but I don't iron bedding so that won't matter.

Not sure what the plan is for the rest of the day but we might nip out this afternoon before we drop the kids off at my mum's at 3.30.

My goodness Nicki, that's a huge list! Good luck on getting through it. I should crack on with mine, but have become distracted (what, moi?) and am trying to find DIY instructions for an old fashioned wooden clothes horse so I can dry my laundry in front of the stove. They are sooo expensive to buy. Any ideas?

Am going for for a HHC in the kitchen to tackle today's list at 12 noon, if anyone cares to join me?

HHC started a bit late, but I carried on. Washing up defeated, dry laundry sorted and ready to go upstairs, our bedding in dryer and DS2 is now getting his ready to be washed. Then I think I'll put towels in and finish with cleaning cloths. :D

Need to go to the market now, before it finishes for the day. If I keep my hood up (it's raining) I won't need to 'do' my hair first. ;)

ETA I'll join you if I'm back in time, Zcc72.
