Valli and msgnomey My herbs and spices live in a drawer so I have written the names on the lids so I can see at a glance what I have. Silver paint pen for the black lids.
I have just emptied the DW yet again. A self emptying DW would be a wonderful thing.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
I have a mobile phoneBossymoo
Away with the fairies :beer:0 -
That sounds posh Hex - mine have a small shelf in a small cupboard- but right by the hob so they ar e'to hand'.
All ironing done. Picked DD up from work. Have removed glasses and dirty clothes and rubbish from DS's rioom - he snuck out to his GFs when I was at the vets (two jabs - £40 gone.) Bald patch is probably chewing vet thinks- but she might be being chewed by another cat - I've never seen her chew herself; it won't be the old cat so it could be an outside cat. I have decided to keep her in. She has had steroids for irritation and anti-biotics.
New phone Bossy?
I know what you mean about the online dating - I found it way to disheartening. All the rejection. It's offensive, in a way (I feel) to suggest that to be happy you have to have someone in your life.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear0 -
I have spent most of the day curled up on the sofa, nursing a cold, but this evening I dragged myself into standing position long enough to do all the ironing :T - the basket is now empty :j and will remain so until after New Year
GI, so glad to hear that things are going better for you now.0 -

Managed to get a bit more done, but not as much as I'd hoped for. Hopeful for finishing tomorrow though and that will make the start of 2014 a very nice one!0 -
Valli I don't have a lot of cupboard space as the kitchen isn't finished yet but two full sized drawers that are in place mean one for cutlery and the other is the right depth for the spice jars. The alternative was a basket but that took up too much shelf space.
Dusting books is boring. Why do I own so many books?'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
To do
1. Change bed
2. Dust bedroom
3. Sort under the bed
4. Declutter desk
5. Filing
6. News letter
7. Planning
8. Write up lesson study so far
10. Sort sideboard
11. Rainbow accounts
12. Rainbow bag, planning and organisation!
13. Handbag
14. Deep clean bathroom
[STRIKE] 15. Deep clean kitchen[/STRIKE]
hmm the kitchen took a lot longer than I expected................ho hum, have also fed the troops and washed up etc etc
knackered now LOL
I have actually only managed to do the work surfaces the spice cupboard, the glasses cupboard, wash out and refill 2x cat litter trays, tack out the recycling, mopped the floor and moved the 'fridge out to clean under it (yuk :eek::eek::eek:)
hey ho it looks a lot better even tho' I'm not finished

Valli, if you have excess nutmeg, you could try a facial scrub!
Mix one teaspoon of ground nutmeg (freshly grated or pre-ground) with one and a half teaspoons of milk -- you want to make a thinnish paste. Cleanse your skin however you usually would, then gently rub the nutmeg mixture over your face for a minute or two. I apply all over and give an extra rub to my problem (read: spotty) areas -- I'm 35 but I get horrible spots on my chin
Rinse well with warm water and BOOM! Baby soft skin. I'm not joking, it's amazing stuff. Also works well on dry/bumpy skin which often affects the back of arms etc.
Two warnings:
A) it's fairly messy -- if you try it, do it before S&Sing your basin, and
2) you'll smell like eggnog for a while0
