Thanks for the veg/pie advice MrsChaos and Dusty. Also to Juliejim and Ladyluck for the Q & A about chicken in a SC - I've got both and another 2014 hope is to learn about SCs.
Think food might be the order of the day - had an earlyish breakfast and tum is now rumbling, but am concentrating today on getting everything sorted in the Sitting Room (aka RoD) and at the moment, it is looking more than promising!0 -
Monday Bathrooms and a bit of Everything Else
Only got 15 minutes...
S&S toilets and sinks (including the kitchen) done the washing up in the kitchen will go back to wipe in a bit
Have home been found for all the presents? Try to get one thing out of the house for each thing in - new socks, get rid of the religious ones etc spent a couple of hours in dd2 room yesterday, 1 bag of old toys to recycle, 1 bag of rubbish & everything tidied, some of her stuff taken up but more to go in a bit! dd1 didn't take quite so long, 1 bag rubbish, 2 bags recycling (all her school books) and 1 clothes recycling - all of her stuff tidied away in her room
30 minutes to spare....

Meal plan for the week
Declutter floors not just into a box or binbag to hide away, try to put things where they belong, a home for everything will make life easier
Sweep/mop/hoover floors you can now see
Extras
New year, New you, what would you like to learn to do this year (much more inspiring than the same old loosing weight and exercising) - for me it is to make sourdough rolls and learn more knitting techniques
Meal plan for the week
Count some blessings from the year gone by
Chill something fizzy to toast the New Year
managed to make biscuits with dd2 this morning, helped dh to shave the bottom off the bedroom door (it didn't open over our new rug lol) and made lunch

I noticed that there is a mse flylady facebook page (closed list). Is it still active?
It is active but you need to let an admin - Pigpen or Lil-me I think - know who you are here against there when you send your request! PM is safest.
Thanks for the list Dusty.
Hello to all the newbies and returners, especially Serena :T
My dailies are done so I am putting yet more of the washing mountain in the machine before I hit the list. HHC at 14.45 anyone?'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
Having another cuppa
The DR carpet is now all clean. The 2nd half is still too wet to put everything back, so it will have to stay in the LR for the time being. I think the chaos is getting to the teens - they have both retreated to their rooms to tidy up - VOLUNTARILY!! DS has even stripped his bed - without being asked!
Bedding in WM. I think I will attempt to cover some more chairs (with wipe clean vinyl). I have 6. 1 is done, 5 to go. One needs mending too.
DS asked me to check the hamster with him as he can't remember seeing her for the last couple of nights  She was fine (phew). He has cleaned her out while she was up (who are you? And what have you done with my children?!) :rotfl:
Ok - anyone care to join me for HHC (chair covering for me!)?0 -

HonestGo hopefully into each new day, enjoy something from every day no matter how small, you never know when it will be your last0 -
Back a bit late from my 2pm HHC - I got distracted :-) Still, managed to do the bathroom, top to bottom (even cleaned windows outside where I could reach!) so I guess that's mine done for today! Grabbing a quick cuppa before starting on a little batch cooking (spag bol & cottage pie) to see me through the first couple of weeks back at work. Catch you all tomorrow x:A FLY FIRST, KNIT LATER :A0

I have ordered myself an ipad mini!! They said it would be delivered by 7/1 - but the tracking says it is at my local depot
I've got one - you'll love it. I'm waiting for a Mac laptop to be delivered; should be Thursday but am hoping it will be earlier as looking forward to having one of my own! Charging it against the business as typing has picked up a lot and I needed to make sure I don't have to pay tax this year.
Bit of a rubbish end to 2013 - part of my tooth has fallen out so got emergency appointment tomorrow am and full of a cold but apart from that all good. Kids happily playing and DD and I have sat in the empty bath with the gerbils again this afternoon; they're such cute little guys!
Welcome to the newbies; just do what you can each day and it really does make a difference. Nice to see some fellow returners too.
Flying wise I've done load of WM which is currently drying, made our bed, been sorting through bags of clothes from when we went away - apparently no one else is able to sort clean from dirty washing ! Meal planned for the week and been shopping to L*dl - that's it I think. I need to iron too as signed up for the challenge to have an empty ironing basket by midnight tomorrow; should be OK.
Going to make comfort food for dinner - shepherds pie. Should be nice and easy for my poor mouth!
Some of you are very organised putting your Christmas decorations away; I'm not allowed by the kids and we do the 12th night thing.Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0
