Rebecca - steamed veg should be fine in a pie.

Thanks for the HHC, Jue. I carried until 10am before having a break and missed your next one. So far I've washed most dishes, hoovered visible floor downstairs, folded/put away a load of towels and put the next load in the dryer. The shopping list is a WIP and I'ved rehomed a few bits as I went along.

Anyone for another HHC or two at 11am? After that I'll get dressed and make lunch.

  • Hi All

Well New Year and new intentions - wonder how long these will last for!!
I'm in this week anyway as I'm still of work until the 6th.

Monday Bathrooms and a bit of Everything Else
    Only got 15 minutes...

S&S toilets and sinks (including the kitchen) - need to wash up first :o
Have home been found for all the presents? Try to get one thing out of the house for each thing in - new socks, get rid of the religious ones etc
    30 minutes to spare....
HH Study Clean the bath and/or shower
Wipe any dusty surfaces in the bathroom
    Got an hour....
Use up/decant any dribbles from shampoo etc, bin the empties to make space for Christmas smellies.
    Meal plan for the week
Declutter floors not just into a box or binbag to hide away, try to put things where they belong, a home for everything will make life easier
Sweep/mop/hoover floors you can now see

    Extras
New year, New you, what would you like to learn to do this year (much more inspiring than the same old loosing weight and exercising)
Meal plan for the week - really needs to be done - sick of takeaways now
Call Stepchange and sort out DMP
Call Sky and try and get price down
Make mortgage payment Count some blessings from the year gone by
[STRIKE]Chill something fizzy to toast the New Year[/STRIKE] going to a friends house this year so they can have the stress of having a clean house!!
Made it - 15 years married!! Finally!! xx:beer:
  • Made a good start.

    Sinks shiney
Dusting done in utility and ds loo.
    Paintwork wiped down.
Kitchen floor washed (not on list, but I spilt something sticky on it just before bedtime and couldn't leave it)
    DH is on vacuuming duties!

Needed to sort some bits for a committee meeting this afternoon and that is mostly done - just one or two more bits to gather together.

I noticed that there is a mse flylady facebook page (closed list). Is it still active?
  • Morning flyladies, "old" and new alike  And thankyou to Dusty and natty for all your hard work.

I had a very lazy day yesterday, but I plan on making the most of my GUAG today :) DH has been dispatched to 1celand for party food as it's DSD's birthday on NYD and we're having the family 'round. I have never hosted a gathering before (quite a sad admission but when I was married to KH I was barely "allowed" friends and inviting them to the house would have been completely off-limits :() so I'm a little bit nervous. Hoping that making the house sparkly over the next two days will allay my fears.

DD and DSD are off into Brum and DSS is busy unpacking his xbox one which arrived this morning. DS1 and DS2 are dressed before lunchtime for the first time since they got back from their dad's :D and I'm about to get stuck in.

Have a great day, one and all. Let's go!
  • Good afternoon :D
I am posting an update from my shiney new iPad :)

I have cleared the DR, vac'd up & vaxed half of it. Just waiting for it to dry out a bit & then I will move the table & do the rest. Just had a cuppa & a play with my new toy :p

One teen is up & watching rubbish. She will be moaning when I switch the vax on again!

Going to sort some dinner out now and then see where we go from there.

I have vaccummed & mopped kitchen lounge and downstairs bathroom. Also done 2 loads of washing. DH even started to clean the cooker:T

    30 minutes to spare....
HHI going to do this now
    Got an hour....
Declutter floors not just into a box or binbag to hide away, try to put things where they belong, a home for everything will make life easier Hmm - WIP - I've sorted one box that has been sat on the kitchen floor since the summer :o

    Extras
New year, New you, what would you like to learn to do this year

This week - list 30 things on ebay before 5th Jan, buy DD some bedroom blinds
January - lose the Xmas weight
Rest of the year - declutter properly. ie don't just put it in a box and think "i'll ebay that later" - actually do it. AND if it doesn't sell, put in a charity bag & get rid. My cupboards are full of stuff that I think is worth a couple of quid, but never get round to doing anything with it.

Give the house a little TLC - fix fencing, finish kitchen decorate hall & stairs.

Spend more quality time with DH & kids.

Count some blessings from the year gone by - can't think of anything. Its been the worst year of my life so far & cannot wait for it to be over.
Chill something fizzy to toast the New Year
    - going to a party so will take some fizz along

Off to do HHI now :)

 Newbies! Best community in the world for getting some order (back) into our lives.

If the kitchen sink hadn't been on the list it wouldn't have been done - I even went and found a yellow microfibre cloth to do it. How's that for dedication, considering I'm still on (virtual) holiday. *virtuous feeling* Also did a kitchen tidy for an hour - I will have order in there eventually. *super-virtuous feeling*

I'd heard the very strange term "pack ups" some years ago from a Yorkshireman I met on a training course. I don't think he would have thought a bit of slimming world cheese and stale bread would qualify for the term. Btw, Valli, the Astor Hotel is now sadly defunct, along with two others literally next door. The 4* had a fire and is now flats, the other one has been pulled down, and will be flats. I don't know what will happen to the Astor, but we've noticed that a lot of other B&Bs and small hotels on the Hoe are now ... student flats. Bit of a trend going on, I think.

Can't ... fly ... any ... more .... Devil Cat on lap - missing his Dad, very clingy.
    Better is good enough.

Not working from the list at the moment although the bathroom does need doing :o
Had to take the dog to the vet this morning (I won't say what's been wrong cos it's a bit yukky _pale_ ), we also nipped to the Doctors to pick up prescriptions.
We've worked at putting Christmas presents away. The girls wouldn't let me take the tree down when I suggested it as "we always keep it up til new year" but I foresee noone being here to help in the new year
The DW has been on twice and the WM is on it's 2nd load, TD once so far. We have so much washing to do but have limited drying space :(
We are going to my best friend's house this afternoon. Our families normally have a sort of Christmas dinner on the 28th but so many of her's were working we had to change to today. Once we've been there that'll be another load of presents gone :T
This year I can't wait for everything to be packed away, which it very unlike me. I've just order some new wrapping paper storage bags, I hope they come quickly.
