Ok, so this .am has been rather lazy, although I have been out and got supplies for bulk cooking - does thinking about a meal plan count?! Now I need to walk my stinky boy (while the rain and wind are holding off) but will be in for a HHC at 2pm, if anyone would like to join me? I plan on cleaning the bathroom. Tbh, it's relatively tidy already (shock! Horror!) so I can give it a bit of a deep clean.

Off to brave the Great Outdoors, back soon xxx

Thanks for the company, Jue. More washing up done and some sorting in the kitchen, followed by updating the budget. WM also on.

DH has just gone back to work, but he's not been busy at all and may well be home within an hour. He wants to go into town and I can live with that - means I don't have to go tomorrow. :D Best check the mealplan and shopping list first.

Lunch made and eaten - bacon sarnies for DH and DS2, HM cream of spinach soup with a quartered boiled egg for me. :) Now I'm going to finish my cuppa and update the list.

Before we go out I still need to sort the laundry and clear/hoover the stairs. Oh, and wash the dishes from lunch... Anyone for a HHC from 13.45? ETA I'll get a head start and you can join me, ZCC72.

Welcome to all newbies and returners.

I still want to hibernate but really need to do something! I need to pop to the corner shop for a couple of bits in between rain showers.

Hi Froddington! Yes, all well here. DS1 is now running his own business, although currently in Madrid visiting girlfriend. DS2 finished his A levels, got his B, and his place at Bath Spa, where he has been since late Sept, and is loving it! DD and I visited in halfterm as missing him badly. DD is applying now for uni, fingers crossed! I have been working full time on and off covering for colleagues over past year, hence disappearing from Flylady. I hope you are well!

I'm doing ok - thanks. Good to hear the updates from your lot and pleased to hear all is well :) Maybe 2014 will be the year we manage to meet up again ............... ?

Hi all; I'm in as far as lupus and looking after Ronnie for the week allow. Many thanks to Natty (last week) and Dusty (this week) for running the thread for us.
Also, a warm welcome to new and returning Flyers.

Tree will be coming down Wednesday, when Mr LW will be here to help, and he can also put the box of [STRIKE]carp[/STRIKE] decs back in the loft. :o

I also want him to retrieve from the loft the two lamps we used to have as bedside lamps; I replaced them with the sort you just touch to operate, as my hands are useless without my splints on and I was having trouble with the switches; but now we've got rid of the old XP pc there's space on my desk, and the lounge could use a bit of atmospheric lighting as well as the main lights, so they can go on there, and make the lounge look a bit “friendlier” iyswim.:o

I am literally going to take a single day at a time, and survive that. The best I can do at present is getting up in the morning and deciding “today is NOT a good day to die”.
    Meal plan for the week
    Done (see above)
Count some blessings from the year gone by

Chill something fizzy to toast the New Year
Will do as soon as there's a bit of room in the fridge (may need to do Fridge Tetris later) – we have the bottle (half price, I forget which SM as I use several), it's in the spare room at present!

Hoping that making the house sparkly over the next two days will allay my fears.
FW, I've never hosted a gathering, either. It's so far out of my comfort zone that it's probably on another continent! Best of luck; I'm sure you'll be fine.:o

 Newbies! Best community in the world for getting some order (back) into our lives.

I'd heard the very strange term "pack ups" some years ago from a Yorkshireman I met on a training course. I don't think he would have thought a bit of slimming world cheese and stale bread would qualify for the term. Btw, Valli, the Astor Hotel is now sadly defunct, along with two others literally next door. The 4* had a fire and is now flats, the other one has been pulled down, and will be flats. I don't know what will happen to the Astor, but we've noticed that a lot of other B&Bs and small hotels on the Hoe are now ... student flats. Bit of a trend going on, I think.
Lol you're quite right - that would not qualify for a pack-up:p

and thanks for the info on the Astor - I didn't hold out much hope for it! Sad though.

I have run all the laundry through the TD, put away ironed and aired stuff and ironed or hung (as appropriate) a maidenful.

I have removed whoopsied mince from the freezer and made a bolgognaise. Left it as that for DD (in a casserole dish) and added mushrooms (whoopsied) to the remainder and made lasagne, to use up some of the cheese brought home on Christmas day. DD doesn't like it so it's a DS-is-home treat as we both do.

(DD would not eat bolognaise at all at one point - she started off with pasta only, then graduated to a spoonful of sauce on a separate plate until, after years of offering/serving she now eats spag bog;) - I use this story to persuade reluctant eaters to, at least, have a taste;))

I'm sitting here with my phonics planning file.

My 2014 plan is to definitely be more MSE, up my income in any way possible with the view to increasing my family a little bit more, to let go of the past and stop dwelling on things that I can no longer change. Finally to finish painting the blasted hallway it should not take 15 months in a flat; or even 15 hours for that matter.
:rotfl::rotfl: and hope your plans work out
Meal plan for the week - Please see question below
Can steamed veggies be used as a pie filling? I've got enough veg to last until next Christmas :rotfl:and thought about this late last night. My original plan was to chop some sausages, fry them, add some veggies and put a flavoured mash topping on to make a sort of pie. But then I thought it would be more healthy to steam the veg but didn't know if that would be possible ..... Thanks for any advice.

    Rebecca

I would bung the veg in with the sausages half way through but if you've steamed them it will be fine.

Hope it goes well and you enjoy it. We have friends round a fair bit and i still find the food part stressful :o

Had another lazy start a my foot joint kept me awake in the night. DH is busy sorting hundreds of CDs, DS2 busy with homework, DS3 needs to get his done too.

    Afternoon all.

I managed to get another 3.5hrs sleep and feel much more human now. I'm in the middle of watching Shirley Valentine and laughing my head off. I appreciate the humour so much more now I'm in my 30s as opposed to 18 when I first saw it. ;)

Going to run to join in the HHC by putting the WM on and putting my work stuff that arrived this morning away in the cupboard. :D Bathroom is looking pretty good so won't need much doing to it.

Kitchen half done. Interrupted by a lift to work for DS2, a quick fresh food shop, and a longish phone call from my sister. As she was ill over Christmas, it was good to chat although she still sounds full of cold.

Just waiting for DD to finish her late lunch, then I'm determined to finish the kitchen....

Still lashing it down with rain and blowing a gale.
