I am furious.. I spent most of yesterday feeding the DW and DD2 and her bf have absolutely trashed it.. there is washing everywhere (she emptied 2 basket in the middle of the floor to 'tidy her room') and there are pots and pans everywhere and the sink is full.. I chuffing hate pots in the sink.. makes it hard to fill the kettle :p.. so she is doing that next there is no way she is going out leaving it in that state.

AND.. I'm starting the new year with a clean bed after Dot wee'd on it this morning..

Pixie was sick all over her cot so she is too.. so annoying!!

    Afternoon lovelies

Late logging in cos this morning our daft but gorgeous husky dog decided to do one out the back gate unbeknownst to me  much handwringing, phone calls, searching later (5hrs) someone round the corner -would you believe it- rang her in to the local kennels who liase with the dog wardens and local police, shes now knackered after her exploits and is fast asleep, ill be following very shortly lol and ds2 who she 'belongs' to, and I use that very loosely has had a flea in his ear about getting the name tag done asap.

I have cleaned almost the entire house to keep busy, it looks gorgeous haha *flings self on chaise long* too much drama for a new years eve for me lol

Oh, embb, I am so glad you found your dog again. My boy recently went missing for 7 hrs after being clipped by a car - you must be so relieved to have yours back, safe & sound. Give him lots of hugs!

I'm off for a HHC in the bedroom at 13.45. I plan on:
    • Clearing the floordrobe;
    • Changing the bed;
    • Clearing surfaces;
    • Dust & polish (including mirrors)
    • Hoover

I won't get all that done in 30 mins, but I'll give it my best shot.

Quick list update while I munch an apple for my lunch (I'm too hot to have soup and really don't want a jam sandwich :o), I extended my HHC as I ended up texting DD and I was on a roll ;)

    Livingroom:
    Take down [STRIKE]garlands /[/STRIKE] Cards
[STRIKE]Put all decorations away (except DDs tree. Thats her job) [/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Label dec boxes so I know where stuff is next Christmas[/STRIKE]
Wash Christmas linens and put away when bone dry
    [STRIKE]binbag dance (probably only a carrier bag)[/STRIKE]
    Dust
    Vacuum

Kitchen (I have a small kitchen, so it sounds more work than it actually is ;))
    Wash up
Clear off tops of cupboards and put DDs goody tins up there.
    Tidy food cupboard/shelves up.
    Wash cupboard fronts/shelves/WM/TD/kickboards
    Wash worktops
    Clean out fridge
Clean window (inside only - chucking it down here)
    Wash floor mats
    Vacuum
    Mop

    DD Bedroom
[STRIKE] Put Christmas decoration boxes away[/STRIKE][STRIKE]
Find homes for her gifts (I was going to leave it to her, but her room looks so unsightly atm I'm going to do it myself)[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE] Laundry away[/STRIKE]
Change bed - stripped and currently in washer, will put the same stuff back on later ;)
    [STRIKE] Dust[/STRIKE]
    Vacuum
    [STRIKE] Clean window[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Take calender down, write dates on DDs noticeboard and then bin calender[/STRIKE]

    My Bedroom
[STRIKE] Take calender down & bin it[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE] Clear all clutter away [/STRIKE]
    Remake bed
    Vacuum
    [STRIKE] Dust[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE] Clean window[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE] Binbag dance (again only probably a carrier bags worth)[/STRIKE]

    Bathroom
    Wash shelves
    Clean up shower rail
    Clean sink/bath/toilet
Chuck toilet brush (I get a new one every new year)
    Vacuum
    Mop
Post bath after all cleaning done: S&S bath/sink, clean towels/mat

    Hall/stairs/landing
    Vacuum
    [STRIKE] Dust[/STRIKE]
    Clean brass on front door
    Clean front door

    General:
    Shredding
Laundry: Dark, light, towels, cleaning cloths, kitchen mats [STRIKE] DDs bedding (1 full load on its own!)[/STRIKE]
    Ironing
    Eat properly!
Update finances - money transfer to where it should be. Will update accounts file when I have my laptop out
Pay work account (check money to pay other bills first)
[STRIKE]Watch my progs on the DVR so DDs progs can be recorded as we're fast running out of space![/STRIKE]

I've also have 4 cardboard boxes to fling, after putting stuff away upstairs :D Next job, taking the vacuum upstairs and doing up there. Will also take a binbag up for all the rubbish I've got in a pile in my room. DD's bin has been changed out for her new one, and her old plastic one is going in the bathroom behind the current bin for all the upstairs recycling to go in ;)

The house is so much easier to clean and keep on top of when DD isn't here :rotfl::rotfl:

    wow - an hour!

In my defence the kitchen is spotless. I got a chair so have wiped the 'trim' and the very tops of the cupboard doors (I had very tall cupboards fitted as I knew full well that if I had standard ones I would plonk stuff on top anyway - I cannot reach the tops normally or, for that matter, the top shelf!) and I got a knife and had a scrape at the paint splashes..

Valli: There are dustsheets here, in this case..
    Dad: No, I wont splash

    yeah right...

so I was still working on the paint splashes - they were tiny spatters IYSWIM so that's a Toots job done!

and I finished off with a hands-and-knees mop of the floor!

Just having a :coffee:. LR next.

ETA You SURE you live in Liverpool Nicki? - or are you using the word sandwich so that the Southerners know what you're talking about. I'm a jam butty fan, meself :rotfl:

    Afternoon all

We have made a start on DH office this morning. Been to town and got carpet samples for stairs/landing and 2 boys bedrooms. Booked a day for the measuring too. Not sure yet if we will go ahead but quite a good price atm plus staff discount.

Got all the bits for tonight so I need to:

    cook sausages and sausage rolls
    hoover downstairs
    another HH in DH office
    make mince pies

Still mainly having 'use it up' meals which suits me very well (everybody else maybe getting a bit fed up but I love leftovers)

    Hi all

GI major amounts of healing vibes for your friend - life is so damn unfair at times.

:oThanks. He can be a tad clueless at times, but he does his level best, bless him; probably me being decidedly OCD about some things is the problem, not him really being clueless.:D

Absolutely right - tell DS2 that Aunty Wolfy says he must get the tag done, too. I've found many, many wandering dogs over the years, and it's so much better to be able to frog-march them straight back to where they belong than muck about with vets and dog wardens and such-like to get microchips read (although I'm very much in favour of 'chipping as well).

Of course you can join - welcome aboard!

Well, all is not going to plan today in the Wolf's Lair - another head-down-the-loo morning for Yours Truly.:( Lupus really is a total and utter *several expletives deleted* embu88erance!
Ah well - this too shall pass.

Ronnie's been for a nice long walk (if a slightly soggy one) and is now sprawled on the sofa, so the important task for the day has been done.:o I reckon his name suits him, as he's certainly a talented Barker!:D

Tagliatelle with tinned toms and veggie hot dogs for dins tonight - this was Mr LW's request; so an easy meal to prepare, at least. Just hope I can eat by then!:o
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Only managed to clear the floordrobe in my HHC - in my defence, it was bad! I'm going back now to do the remainder...well, all except vacuum. I'll need a break before I tackle that! I am being kind to myself, and only setting bite-sized goals so I don't beat myself up.

Re dogs/chipping, etc, yes definitely get a tag - RSPCA advice when I got my boy was that metal ones with inscriptions are better than the plastic/paper tubes, which can be illegible, don't put the dog's name on it though, just put your surname and any contact numbers. Remember to update address with the microchip people when moving house too. Also, a little plastic disc on the collar saying the pet is microchipped is useful. Really helped me when my boy went awol. He's currently snoring on the sofa after a stodgy field walk!
