  • not being ungrateful but did get a slightly weird present this year. A set of 4 very nice quality (and probably quite expensive) saucepans. Rarely use saucepans as steam or roast all veg (electric steamer), mainly use my existing 2 big old stockpots for soupmaking/cooking pasta and small saucepan for boiling eggs/heating sauces. I've only got a tiny kitchen with little cupboard space. They are nice but won't get used much (if at all, one more would have been useful, but another 4?) as they don't replace the stockpans I actually do use. Seems like an odd present to buy without asking first - you either need more saucepans or you don't. I don't.

The Lovely Fella got a gift wrapped Brussels Sprout. He loved it.

LOL One year when I was a child we got sprouts in our stockings, turned out Santa had a few drinks before sorting them out, couldn't remember where the apples were and decided as sprouts were green they would be a great substitute. We had to give them back for dinner!

My aunt and uncle love to give unique gifts but this years were definitely in the 'weird' group. We got this

We also got the matching teeth and eye. I have no idea what to do with them other than wait for the summer and put them in the garden, either they'll scare off the local children or they'll be pinched within a week!

Were they there when you unwrapped it? What was your reaction when you saw what it was? I'm afraid I would have said exactly what I was thinking - !!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Who would even invent those?

As for buying them, that has to be a case of drunken internetting, surely... doesn't explain inflicting them on others though.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.
