Get It Done Weekly Challenge

Hello, sorry for the delay mothernerd/anybody interested in this particular challenge,
1) Sunday, tidy up day and planning the next weekly tasks were almost done.
From last Sunday until the end of Saturday also:-
2) Mend the bicycle (puncture repair and general maintenance).
3) An online grocery order to be completed for this month.
4) To minimise unnecessary spending, update food left from July, acquire garden edibles and foraging.
5) Maybe send some personalised homemade cards to people i.e. "thanks"/"thinking of you" types.
6) C.V. again whenever possible to reduce paperwork/filing system.
1) Sundays routine tends to highlight what has been achieved the previous week and what might to tackle the next week.
2) The puncture is repaired and other bicycle maintenance jobs done.
3) Online grocery order done.
4) Updated food records so used this mainly to make the above order. However, a few reduced price groceries also acquired locally. Made use of garden edibles and local foraged food.
5) Decided to thank the person when seen shortly and other card undecided whether to send.
6) Still doing bits at a time so the C.V is taking shape and old notes hence recycled.
Today, tidy up day and planning for the next week.0 -
Realised earlier I need a plan for the coming week.
I have killed the paperwork giant, the remaining bits will be in place by the end of today. Floor (and the mini- landing outside the door) are clear. Bed is nearly sorted - just need to work out where I put things while I put clean sheets on.
DS1 isn't coming this week so bed can stay whole for the time being, just want it straight. Gardening, anything up a ladder or below knee height are out - they haven't made it clear what I can and can't do, surgeon appointment will be 6 weeks+ and the three books from the library all say keep going but don't do too much.
Managed to unscrew one fitting but not found a suitable angle to tackle the others. Tried sitting on the edge of the bath but can't get my head down far enough to see the screw (on the underside of the fitting) I am trying to undo whilst avoiding knocking myself out on the sink. Just using my fingers the screw feels damaged so may leave it for now.
THE PLAN
1 Will start on dining room - not sure how long I can sit comfortably for but need to tackle tools and equipment - could go in sideboard or free kitchen cupboard. Get DS3 to move spare doors to places they will be used - will pounce when he orders takeaway for himself and say just pick this up and put it there. Could do with table being dismantled again for the time being but it's a 2 people job and not sure how much I can contribute - easy if we manage to get it on it's side (I can just stand next to it 'balancing' it and he can unscrew the legs and prop it against the wall.
2 Tackle CDs and DVD - Music Magpie probably.
3 Find other things which can be listed - gumtree/fb/ freegle and list.
Search and get rid.
4 Investigate mobile phones - only need a cheap one (possibly take photos) but need people I want to, to be able to contact me, without me having to get up and down stairs - also need something to take photos for listings. DS3's gf had given him her old one but he can't find the charger (none of the 20 or so I have found are right.
5 Learn about facebook selling etc.
6 Formulate patterns to sell on etsy and gather information required - ask DS3 about formats - he mentioned doing pdfs and a different site that might be better for downloadable stuff.
7 Packing - some things I want to keep but don't need immediately ie have 4 large good bath sheets, DS3 and I can probably manage with 2 used alternately (have smaller scruffy ones) so 2 could go away. If DS2 gets the job he wants which involves moving, DS3 and I could move back into the little house (cuts our living costs). Christmas decs are already packed and listed, seed trays and small plant pots could be (shed is now waterproof, so out of the way).
Okay have a good week folks and keep plodding. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Wow Mothernerd you certainly are not giving in I don't pretend to know what exactly is wrong but wow respect for all your stubborness carrying on doing what you can and when...
Is magpie a fair earner as I have about 400 dvd's here I need to get rid of all in fab condition ..
Also regarding facebook selling I don't think there's many rules really my own rule tho is never have anyone pick anything up from my home whilst I am alone I feel uncomfortable not knowing who is coming here unless hubby is here in fact I have a woman coming here at 10pm to pick up a vibration plate cos hubby is out till then ... she sounds desperate or odd lol
Have a fab day xAug NSD 11/12.Sept 2/15£71.53/£150Sept £5 a day.0 -
Never done music magpie before - expect prices have dropped as so many people download stuff. but they are only keeping the cupboard warm and it's better to get rid of a load in one fell swoop than try listing them individually - had a few Spooks dvds and books on amazon and only sold 3 books and one dvd since beginning of the year. Took remaining text books to cs last week (before diagnosis) as highest priced was £4 and last one I posted cost £8 that size. Also think mm pick up from your house.
No worries with fb - DS3 rarely leaves his lair (working on the game that's going to make our fortune). He's very gentle but just scrapes under door frames and nearly fills the frame as well - he would never start a fight but no one messes with him these days (he was very badly bullied when he was at school, now he just looks at troublemakers and they back off).My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -

Good day I think (if I can't move tomorrow will know I have done too much)'
Sold 70 dvds and cds to Music magpie for the princely sum of £38.38. Keep telling myself we have had years of pleasure from them and they were only keeping the cupboard warm. It stopped at 70 items so will have another go in a couple of weeks. Also de-cluttered an awkward shaped box (long and thin) and used the end of the roll of wallpaper I used on the tiny bedroom to fill the space at the side of the box. It will be collected on Wednesday.
Another 29 to go to the cs (some are only the ones you get free with newspapers - brought a huge batch from mum's last year and have been working my way through them ever since). Hoping I can get rid of another 25 or so by the end of the week - there's a large charity wheelie bin in there so can drop off library books/ charity bag and food bank donation altogether. Had got into the habit of taking a bagful every time I went - need to restart.
Put the sewing machine away in the cupboard for the time being, so the dining room would be looking much clearer except for the boxes that had no/ the wrong dvd in them. Hoping to find a few stragglers in DS3's room when I can get in there.
Made a batch of rice salad, curried butter bean salad (good, have written the recipe into my book) and potato salad as I could check the pans now and then.
Also put washing out to dry, brought it in and put clean clothes away (I don't have many). Emptied a couple of dozen small plant pots and some mushroom boxes that I used for setting seeds off, cut back the 'lady's mantle' and managed half a dozen trips up and down watering plants. Bucket broke so that's binned as well (one side of the handle was adrift but manageable -now it's off altogether).
Had a sleep after the musmag-ing and feel okay at the moment. Will carry on tomorrow or have a rest day if I am stiff or in pain. Good chance to see if any of these films are worth keeping.
Keep plodding folks. The paperwork clearing must have been successful because it's up to 3" from the top of the paper recycling bin.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
