Hi mavvymoo,
Thanks for your latest news. I understand how other things dominate time but anyway you did well with your fete.
Yes, we are both "plodding on" with things although (me) somewhat starting and stopping this week!0 -
Sorry, wrote a post yesterday but it got lost (laptop conked out several times.
My scan appointment wasn't great - didn't get a scan but several x-rays instead. I have severe arthritis in my right hip, severe enough for a surgery referral (port of last resort - may not get a new hip but possibly injections).
So lots of re-thinking to do. Mum has offered to pay for any remaining work to be done (buying a house suitable for both of us with part of the sale proceeds). Not happy about taking money from mum but not got much choice. I need to sell this house and the doctor I saw wasn't pleased that I had walked to the appointment, let alone that I had been going up ladders.
I am not abandoning you. Work will still need to be done and organised and I may need somewhere to vent. We have a mr and mrs builder who are very cheap (I am just too poor to afford even them) but DS3 (who lives here) does not like mrs builder (or anyone who tries to tell him what he should or shouldn't be doing - he's 23). DS1 will still come to help (had to dissuade him from moving me downstairs asap when he phoned yesterday). DS3's friend is still on stair mending duty - when he gets back from France and before he goes to his dad's in Jersey for a month. So working out who does what and getting everyone to get along is a job and a half in itself.
Plans for today are to do more tidying (on Monday I cleared the wardrobe bottom and it and the cupboards are filled with neatly folded/ stacked organised items - I even have a list of where everything is. So another day like that would be good. The alternative (bed-based) is to sort these escaped bits of business tax work back into relevant years. I am starting with a hot bath and washing my hair. I took a couple of things out of the freezer yesterday so food is sorted.
We shall plod on (very lightly). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -

Welcome Karens100dayys no rules so far as I know, just put whatever you feel comfortable with - it's more a way of looking at that infinite list of things you will do when you get 'a round tuit' and saying right this, this and this. Making a commitment to us and yourself and focusing on something rather than getting overwhelmed by a whole raft of stuff.
Certainly helped me when I was posting earlier this year and I need the focus now, dealing with the events of this week and working out how to proceed from here.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -

Sorry to hear that your appointment "wasn't great" mothernerd. I can relate to how difficult it is to tackle tasks when other events affect things.
karens100dayys - hello and good luck.0 -

Well todays sunny day has turned into a grey stinker of an afternoon here in Wales, Autumn is definitely chasing out Summer faster than I would like I have had a lil think and have come up with a few weekly tasks that I have put off for a long while as we have been so busy decorating and whiling days away decking and de-cluttering the garden. I am going to start with a dozen jobs for the week..
1. Do a final check on Monday evening with hubby to make sure we have exact amount of vouchers etc on order from Park Hampers that all our customers have ordered update the books and cards accordingly, also offer to reduce any customers orders that have fallen behind(MIL especially)..I love handing the vouchers out on xmastime but now its hitting 10k its a bit stressy too.
2.Get to the end of my ironing basket.
3.Get the toothbrush and bleach on kitchen grout, bathroom and loo walls are gleaming.
4.Take a huge pile of carrier bags down to the fruit shop.
5.Pay in DS savings jar contents and let him buy some Euros with the contents ready for Disney.
6.Research the best way to fill out my tickler-file,I labelled up dates months and bills section I want to add a section for my grocery receipts for groc challenge and bits like that...
7. Rehome all the dvd's and Cd's somewhere so I can get rid of the cupboard that's squeezed in behind my loo door and stops us opening door properly.
8.Start a jar collection for pickling onions for hubby, plus order a gallon of 99p vinegar from Tesco next shop.
9.Finally finish moving bedrooms around.
10.Get hubby to jet-wash drive.
11.Price up insurance for Euro Disney in November- cheapest is £8.odd so nothing nasty to worry about..
12.Last but not least join Flylady Monday and start a spending diary Monday- Started Saturday instead.Aug NSD 11/12.Sept 2/15£71.53/£150Sept £5 a day.0 -
Wow, what a list - do you want to come and help me when you have done?
Just managed to clear another corner using a synthetic feather duster to 'sweep'. It was just long enough to get everything out (a mixture of dust, wood bits from stair mending and wallpaper scraps from the stripping I managed 2 weeks ago) without bending too far (and painfully). Picked out all the drill bits, screws and tools first.
Also done a job I put on the list (4 weeks ago?:o). I said I didn't know what half the twiddly bits on my laptop did, having struggled for six years with a computer that thought letting me have my e-mails once a week was too much effort. Was going to try to learn 3 new bits a week and have just learned an e-bay bit and an etsy bit (looked before but found it too big and didn't know how to refine my search). Have a design for a cross stitch pattern I did a while ago - there are several small versions of the same thing so if they aren't getting prosecuted (it's from a game) neither will I and mine is more complex and larger (mine would work as a cushion, theirs are badge size). my son took it to a convention and several people liked the finished article but said they would like to do their own - so just need to copy my finished one down as a pattern (have the original outline I worked out on graph paper but developed it as I went along), upload it and hopefully start making some money.:j (well I would if I could). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0
