  • Evening all.

Checking in with SFD number 11.

Hugs to all those who need one today.

Went to the gym before work, then walked to work, then been out walking for some extra work I am doing for the next 2 weeks so very tired at the moment. Hoping for a few more SFDs this week.

When I go food shopping at the weekend I need to shop clever so my shop will last me to pay day. Plenty of meals in the freezer so will only be fresh stuff, and some more flour so I can make another cake at the weekend.

Off to bed now as tired. Have a good Tuesday all!

Today will be the 7th LTW day for me. I'm hoping for another SFD but I'm not declaring it until it's done :D I've made a number of sales on FB of old stuff I'm clearing out, so postage will need to be paid for but I'm not including that in this challenge as the buyer has paid it IYSWIM.

    Have a good day everyone!

    Hi all.

A SFD planned here today, am working most of the day, doing some ironing, and walking the dog which will be another exercise session to add.

I had my last grocery shop of this budget period delivered last night, it was my first online shop with Asda and we had loads of subs, including the most bizarre sub I have ever had with any supermarket, I ordered a tin of spaghetti letters at 45p and they sent me 4 tins of princes tuna which were £4 but as they price match I only paid 45p. A couple of subs went back with the driver so we will have to manage without those.

DH pointed out to me that next month should be a cheap grocery month because we have loads in, 12 jars of my favourite pasta sauce apparently, I stock up when it is on offer for a £1.

Thanks everyone for your virtual hugs and kind words. Unfortunately the results back from my sister in laws scan show cancer spread lungs and liver.
Was coping alright until this round of further bad news. Losing 2 family members in a month was tough enough.
Trying to focus on positive things, work want me full time, local zoo want me to take lodgers for them in summer, tf my cc to 0% till April 2015 gives me time to breathe a bit.
Today need to spend money, taking bottles of wine to nursing home as a thank you and need some root touch up dye.

As both bosses out another coffee break time.

Dolly84 Asda were a nightmare for me with home deliveries I stopped using them, failed to turn up once, 2 hrs later another time. Price match is good but not worth the hassle. Love Sainsbobs with their 1 hr delivery.

Hugs to all those who need/want them today.:grouphug:

I get paid tomorrow and have just under half a tank of diesel, cupboards and freezer full of food, £35 cash, £120 in the ISA, £6 in the 52 week challenge jar and £325 in the bank!!!!!:D:D:D:j:j

This is the first month I have tried this challenge and I never, ever have this much money left the day before payday and it’s thanks to this challenge and the lovely, supportive people on it. I will certainly be signing up for next month’s challenge if there is one.:T:T:T

Today will be a spend day as I have booked an exercise class and will be shopping at aldee for fresh fruit and lunch stuff for the rest of this week.

DH and I are away at work events the early part of next week so this shop will be stretched to last until next Tuesday when I will shop again. Next week’s shop will be out of next month’s food budget as I am going to work on pay day to payday to match my budget. There may be a small shop at the weekend for some beer for DH and any ingredients he needs for the new recipe he will cook on Saturday. He is very impressed with the little we have spent on food so I am hoping it will encourage him to ‘shop from home’.;)

DH is convinced we can get our food shop even lower next month and I am up for the challenge.:) Maybe a few funny combinations or meals where he has one thing and I have another though.

I only exercised once last week due to the rain so must fit in a couple of walks this week on top of my class.:o

I found a fiver in DH trousers (been through the wash) and he gave me it to buy a new book for my Kindle. I have a credit from Christmas so used that to buy I am Pilgrim and it is fabulous.:D The fiver went in the food purse;)

We are on the home straight of Janus! Into the last third of the month when many of us get paid, shuffle the pennies around, and plan for Feb.

For me it's day 2 of 15 of dh being abroad, so my economy drive enthusiasm is still high! Tuesdays are now my spendy day as I don't work. They are also my cleaning, washing, hoovering, exercise, clearing and sorting day!

I am chuffed to have found an Elsa doll for dd - the last one she wanted, so all her allocated bday money has been spent. Went to local town to get it and wandered up through shopping centre to get to bank to pay in cheque + cash. I went in a few shops as the place was nice and empty, but just could muster no enthusiasm for purchasing anything! Popped into the charity shops and came away with some tights for dd and some brightly coloured wools. A grand total of ... £1.25!

'Fess up time: got myself a coffe from Pr3t for 99p; also spent £9.50 on Ald1 roses as so many people are helping me with childcare at the mo and they need to be appreciated and thanked along the way. And there may be a few 'spare' roses that I have to look after myself...

Took a bag to Sally Army and got my £2 credit there. So am starting on the next bag now. And am clearing out a load of used jiffy bags to put on fr33cycle. We never use them, so I don't know why we save them!

Skimmed though the first page this morning and realised that many who signed up haven't posted. If that's you, then I hope you've been able to read the posts and find them helpful, and apply some of the challenges. Any change to our spending habits is good and can be trumpetted about on here. We all trip up, some of us 'fess up, others keep quiet, but we start again everyday in our bid to beat the consumerism, banks, cc companies, shops that operate out of greed. It is our money and WE will choose what we do with it!

    Go Hobbitses!
