Missy keeping my fingers crossed for your mum.

Tiptoes love that story too. I'm planning on getting mine for £200 new in the sales at BHS or similar. And since I'm having a daughter soon, I might keep it. Looking for a vintage style dress but won't buy it till much closer to the wedding (maybe July) once I got my prebaby figure back.

Re the funeral, my dad made the decision I shouldn't come. My "gran" is not worth the effort and money, although they appreciate that I would have come for my mum's sake. Plus he's a little scared because he thinks it would be too close to my due date.

Rubbish weather and all loaded with the cold so SFD number 11 I think.

thriftylass glad you have a resolution to your dilemma about the funeral. I think your dad is probably right about the due date and I am sure your other family members will support your mum on the day.

I am having an evening on the sofa playing with my spreadsheets, after finishing my chores. Does anyone else play with their spreadsheets by putting in different possible future payments towards debt to see how it affects the totals and DFD?

  • Evening all. Hugs and best wishes to all who need them.

Nothing much to report from me. I'm now up to 10 SFDs so chuffed with that.

Not doing very well with the diet and exercise at the moment but will try again tomorrow - just found out tonight have a school reunion to go to in April so that will be an extra incentive to get moving!

I have been keeping all my figures and totals in a notebook but think I will move on to a spreadsheet for next month.

Hoping to have some SFDs this week before I have to top up with fresh food - when that happens I will take advantage of a spendy day and get petrol and pay my teaboat and lotto syndicate dues.

Hope everyone has a good Monday!
  • I've had a very busy weekend and today has been SF! At last!
I was away from home but packed myself a sandwich and some fruit. It would have bern easy to pop into a petrol station and buy something but I resisted.

Off to catch up with the thread.
    Seriously money saving

    Debt-free and Proud!
I've felt like I haven't really had much to add as I have had two spendy days planned aand within budget.
DS has had a birthday and we went to a nearby arboretum for a walk, both DC loved jumping in puddles, spends incurred at a yellow arches for birthday treat lunch although I was given money towards this from my mum. Sadly DD is poorly, high temp and all limp, I think she has a flu bug as she is shivering yet boiling hot :(
Looks like tomorrow will be a NSD as will Tuesday and Wednesday.

  • Good day one and all... I am sat here watching catch-up Call The Midwives. I love this programme. Could never do it myself but it's such a good show!...

So a busy day for me. 12 items on eBay, food cooked for four meals at least, banana cake for a friend as he is doing me a favour, vacuuming the entire house, two loads of washing and a seperate one of blankets for a animals charity with some towels I don't need, a pile of items that are going to a charity shop, and all my vintage dresses wrapped carefully in tissue paper and stashed in a box away from naughty moths....Phew!

Now trying to figure out how to get some items home to Norn Iron the cheaest way possible....

However I have a super long day tomorrow and shall bid thee all good night right now...

Thirfty I am glad your Dad made the decision for you!! Tiptoes so nice of the girl to send you a photo - very sweet!

Short and sweet from me tonight....

  • I haven't posted for a while, been so busy working 6 days a week, and single parent to 3 boys.

Got paid on Friday. Really pleased I have managed to pay off £652, this month. So I have updated my signature. :T

Next month dropping my weekly cash spend to £60 a week, so I can pay more.

Evening all :) I've had the laziest day - was still in my PJs at 5pm! I typed an update where I confessed forgetting my lunch at work yesterday so ended up spending £4 on a slice of vegan pizza and Liquorice Mint tea. The update got lost so maybe I should just keep quiet and not bother confessing again :o

Tonight I managed another yoga class. My SFD was ruined when I stopped at my local petrol station's M+S. I had no food prepared at home and it was too late to start cooking so I thought I'd get a carton of soup or something. I managed a yellow sticker nut salad for 50p which made me happy. I ended up buying another salad for a further 50p which'll do me for lunch tomorrow.

So, my yoga gear's in the washing machine and I'm showered and back into my PJs planning my activities for tomorrow. Got to clean my house in the morning as my friend's coming over tomorrow night. Also gotta put some lentils in the slow cooker so we can eat! And I have an afternoon of work to do - it'll definitely be busier than today ;)
