Just a quick skim reveals sad news
thriftylass i hope you get the news you want from the doctor. calling - sending you my thoughts and best wishes.
i was seen on Friday - not had any feedback yet but they looked happy as they left. fingers crossed. NSD today (apart from paying my credit card - but don't think paying off debts count?). spent today painting models and watching youtube to prevent further spending.
my exercise and diet is still pretty much unchanged and am not doing well on that score. i hope to be under 12st next week (1lb loss) but we'll see what happens.
i have been given some petrol money so have put it in my 2K fund. am now 3% of the way there. huzzah.0 -

Aw calling, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. As others have said, you are really having a tough time of it at the moment. I hope 2014 starts to improve for you soon.
Hugs.

Evening all,
Hugs to all those having a tough day/week/month!
Spend day today, got food shopping and petrol to last until next Friday (payday). My food budget is now blown but if I reallocate my contingency money, under spend from animal money and unspent from dog sitter(!) then I have not overspent overall (if that makes sense). It's not great, but I'm proud I haven't gone into debt or used my ccard to survive the month. This is so different to how I was last year, I'm so grateful to NSK and her challenges, thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Done my exercise by walking the boys and did a class at the gym tooI helped a friend out today with a favour, but wouldn't accept the money she offered, so as she knew I was on a diet, she bought me a fruit basket
I'm really chuffed

Sorry to hear people having bad news. Hugs to all.
I liked the article, thanks for that and so agree that kids don't need the latest everything. We've never been in a position to give the kids the latest gadgets, having a large family and they survived, and thrived. Only DD1 is slightly materialistic, both DS and youngest DD are not at all bothered. DS2 is the youngest at 15 and doesn't have a phone and doesn't really want one, he's quite happy with CS clothes and doesn't even do Facebook, he did have an account but deleted it as he didn't use it. He does love his xbox though!
Have finally made my foodbank donation £3.24
Have been doing my dog walking and occasional yoga
Lunch taken to work every day
Not been counting SFD (sorry!)but its more than spendy days and nothing unaccounted for so I'm ok with that.
No toiletries.
No alcohol.

What a hard thing to read. So many of you with such a hard time at the moment. Calling I am sorry to hear about your sister. It's a horrible disease and I am sure your family is feeling a massive loss. You are right when you say your sister is no longer in pain - she is at peace and sleeping soundly. Sending you much love and hugs!
His_Missus how are you..?
Thrifty what has your Mum said to you? Would she want you to go with her knowing how you feel? Are you needing a Dr's note in order to fly?..
In the land of NSK I am putting things on eBay embracing the few pennies that might come my way like the good old days of penny pinching right at the very beginning. So 4 items on there now with one ending tomorrow and at £4.07 with 22 people watching it - I might get a fiver if I am lucky.
House move on the 2nd of January is scaring me a little. I want to move and while putting everything in my room think out loud "wow is this all I have" instead of "wow is this really all mine"... the purge has begun.
Motorbike is still at the Dr's - can't bare to call them as I dread to think how much it will be. Just sat awaiting their call and will try on Tuesday if they haven't called me first...
Fitness will commence properly once I have moved. It has now become a little depressing and less of a "want to lose weight" and more of a "NEED to lose weight".. it's an awful feeling really and one I need to shake off soon and the only way of doing that is to work off the weight!!!:(:(
SFD's have been growing although I haven't kept a very good record of them - I still have food money left which is always good and tomorrow is a baking day again - batch cooking will commence with vigour tomorrow morning as will a proper tidy up and scrub down for LLL coming home on Tuesday...
Archery on Monday again - and we will be given our own bow for the evening instead of sharing - :T:T:T
Right - that's it from me.. I gotta sleep now as I need to get up early....

Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -
Morning everyone,
Calling-I am so sorry for your loss. Sending lots of hugs and well wishes to you and your family.
Thriftylass- I hope it all goes well for you.
Well today should be a NSD as I doubt i'll be going out. I do feel slightly guilty that I cannot wait for my ex to pick the children up this afternoon:o I just feel so tired and snappy as I only get free time, on the few hours each Sunday he has them. Embarrassingly, although I've done plenty of overtime in the past I haven't worked full-time since I was 19 - I'm now 40 lol. I feel knackered. I just want to sleep, then have a shower without having anyone asking where I am and coming in, then read my book for a few hours. I just feel I need to rejuvenate, so I'm actually useful, as for a long time, I keep feeling I'm burning out.
On the plus side at least in a couple of weeks the figures in my signature will be going down :T I really hope I'm not coming across as selfish, I love my children with all my heart, but I just feel I'm in need of 40 winks.Although in reality, I will be batch cooking and making cakes, while they are out, lol!:A Your Always in my heart, you never ever will be forgotten-9/9/14:heart2:0 -
Missy - I hope it is good news for your mum tomorrow, a lump isn't always bad news, I had one and it turned out to just be a cyst.
I had a rude awakening yesterday when the postie brought the Tesco CC bill and two letters from them saying we have gone over the credit limit and need to pay £230 asap, also got £12 in charges which I will call about as soon as payday comes and I can pay the £230. We have never gone over a limit before.
It is payday next Friday and we start a new grocery shopping period on the 26th (we run 26-25 of the month), for a long time I have been using the Tesco CC to do the grocery shop for the extra points and then paying that figure off at the end of the month but we have been using the card for lots of other things too. As of next month I am going to use my debit card/cash for grocery shopping which will give me more scope on where I can shop but means I won't be able to pay as much off my cards this month. IYSWIM.
However it does mean that the balance on the Tesco card will stop going up and down from now on and just go down.
SFD here today after quite a spendy day yesterday. We had a few bits we needed to get but it was all planned.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler
