Spend day planned:
I'm withdrawing all my bus fare money/tea fund for the month and am going to the cinema after work. Normally that's free, but we're seeing a 3D film so I have a small supplement to pay. My friend is bringing the 3D glasses though0 -
Morning all,
Spendy day planned here, need some porridge oats, flaked almonds and chorizo and I'm also going to get some herbal teas as I am drinking way too much tea (it's decaff so not too bad but I feel I need to hydrate more)
Worked last night so I am rather tired, after school rum and market shopping I'll be back home for a well earned rest!Squirrelling away in September No 33It's not about the money, it's about financial freedom, being in control of it and living in the natural world and not a material world0 -

so puss is ok! :j:T hes actually lost less than 1kg-my scales are obv faulty:o:o vet cheked him over and he was not impressed when he had a thermometer shoved up his bum! said he seems fine and wet food isnt great so not really an issue if hes gone off it as long as he has his biscuits. said small loss could be due to not eating wet food as its quite fatty. suggested i got some paste stuff for hair balls as he is very fluffy and he he is gagging a bit. just been trying to get him to eat it and he obv doesnt like it so just smeared it round his mouth and hes had to lick it to clean himself. had a little brown beard :rotfl:
vet was free as part of my £10pm plan and also got his flea and worm stuff. paste was £18 though
I have a cat that needs the paste on a regular basis, I buy it from Ama***,

much cheaper than the vet, we also crush up our cats tablets and hide them in the paste. (Giving her a tablet is a 2 person job) I just spread it on one of her front legs.0 -
Afternoon,
Had a very busy few hours this morning and must have walked a few miles round trip to school, the supermarket and then into the town to market.
I bought two packs of mince as they are half price at the moment so they will become a cottage pie and a lasagne and be portioned up for the freezer.
There is a fab stall on my local market that sells beans, pulses, spices and nuts soI always stock up here, 1.5kg of jumbo oats for £1.50 and 200g sliced almonds for £2.50, I use these to make granola because I hate paying £4 on a tiny box of it and I don't like dried friut which most of them have in and its so much tastier too and I know exactly what is in it!
I definitely feel in limbo now, pay day is next friday and it can't come quick enough! I want to pay more off the credit card and I have to pay off the money for the speed awareness course and order my car tax, I'll be skint before I've started!Squirrelling away in September No 33It's not about the money, it's about financial freedom, being in control of it and living in the natural world and not a material world0 -
Wow what a quiet day on here! I finally have an evening to sit down and read MSE with my feet up and there are only a few posts :rotfl:
Today is SFD number 11, drank no alcohol, walked one dog (rain stopped the others so I owe them a longer walk tomorrow) and took lunch to work. Feeling quite pleased, apart from my budget totals!
I am really itching for it to be next Friday and payday so I can pay off some more of the ccard. Can't wait to get rid of it (by June at the latest). Also OH has borrowed money off me so he will pay me that back a week on Monday and that can go towards the ccard monsterGot a super busy week next week so it should fly by :T
Hope you've all had a lovely FridayLBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

I'm glad it's Friday!
Today I raised 38€ by selling of some old toys and some Olive oil. Not to give too much away I have some litres of top notch olive oil and thought I'd test the market. One facebook post later and I could have sold the amount I have twice over, within an hour of the post going up.
SO I am looking into getting some more and selling it on.
Otherwise it's been a quiet day!Seriously money saving0 -
Hi everyone,
Just a quick check in as it has been a tough week here on all fronts. Very sorry to hear of others difficult times too – I hope things are going as smoothly as they can be expected to hismissus and that others are all shaking off the lurgy and mid-month blues too.
Exercise not really happening – I have been unable to shake a few health problems off and now scheduled for a (hopefully minor) op very soon. I am glad of the incentive through the challenge and it has made me walk more places than I might have done otherwise, feeling like I do at the moment. Just a bit sad as until mid-autumn I was commuting to work by bike and running several miles at a time. Hope to be back to that soon!
It’s been very interesting to scrutinise my fuel and food spends so carefully. Illness cancelled a couple of longer drives that I was planning for within the budget but has meant more use of the car for short trips. I’d hope to reduce the spend in this area quite significantly in future months. Its made me think twice about what I use the car for and I’m careful to try to get extra tasks in (trips to tip etc) while I’m running around in it anyway.
The challenge has kept me out of the big supermarkets since before the start of the month (hence not yet done my FB donation as this is in there – I will make a special trip (on foot) if I stay away for my food spending though! We have lived from the cupboards, on lots of frozen YS bargins from xmas time, and topped up milk and some veg from A1di. There is a new c00p nearby which is having some stock flow challenges I think – every evening that I’ve been in there has been a lot of YS and reduced right down to pennies. I’ve taken to popping in a couple times a week and have picked up lots of carbs for the freezer, meat for DD but also some veg and milk. Last time spent £6.50 but reductions were over £14! That has lost me some NSDs but I’ve made sure this was instead of, not as well as weekly shop. We are starting to eat eclectically though. I’ve taken money from the food budget instead of social budget for tea and cake out with friends (but still marked it down as a designated social outing) and buying a cuppa when watching DD do athletics etc.
I think I’ll struggle on the exercise and NSD totals, but I’ve been super strict with applying NSD’s - those are times when literally no money leaves my hands or bank account. If I can get to 15 I will be happy! Good luck everyone.

Torn. My mum phoned today to tell me her mother, my grandmother had died, she had cancer. Now I or my mum haven't spoken to her in 20 years (actually the other way round but too long a story). I'm glad my mum was at least able to see her in the last few months and they even made their peace on her death bed, which I'm glad about. Still I'm not sure if I can justify £300+ to attend a funeral of a woman I hardly knew nor loved but knew how she treated my mum etc., despite being totally emotional and upset about my last grandparent dying (feel like I lost her years ago). Not sure what to do, wish I wasn't n a differen country and could be there for my mum. Maybe sleep over it and see what mum thinks.
Anyway, low spend day, just got some fruit and bread for DS but will do big Also shop tomorrow.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250
