Today should've been an SFD but he asked if I could stick a few quid of fuel in the car (theoretically, fair enough, he's given me a couple of lifts to work and will do so more often now that cycling gets tricky). He said it's because he'll be skint till Saturday. So I got quit upset and he asked what's wrong and I mentioned the £250 I gave/part lent him over the last 2 weeks....oh, some unexpected spends (his snowboard needed new straps, maybe the complete set of bindings, despite being part paid by vouchers, should've maybe waited) and trips (to where?). This money was meant to tie him over to payday on essentials because he overspend in December. He just doesn't get it. Ok he learnt and changed a lot in recent years, but sometimes...........I feel like I'm the only one making sacrifices, not spending anything on me, just food and the bills and saving for the wedding so we don't have to borrow any or the least amount. He's been telling me for the last few months, I'll start saving towards the wedding soon too, yeah right. He's probably maxed out his OD again too after that being cleared last year by PPI money. He only has to pay for lunch, bit of tabacco, a few pints maybe and petrol out of his spending money. Argghhh, sorry rant over, there are bigger problems in the world.i know EXACTLY how you feel because my DH is being the same.
Not opening bank statements, frivalous spending while I am working so hard on our joint account. What gets me is he moans about having no money but is always buying just random stuff! Still nothing I can do till he has an LBM and then i will help sort out a plan for him.
I feel your pain ladies, I am in the same boat with a very similar sounding OH. He spent all his pay in the first 3 weeks of a 6 week pay month! To be fair he is now cutting back his spending but I have still loaned him money to get to the end of the month, even though I've spent very little on me apart from buying things like tyres and a new kettle!LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

OOO, Lyneee, that’s interesting. I think I’ll try aldee then even with the staff discount at Morries.
Xspender – good luck with the hair. I used to have a bright red colour in a city centre salon done every 4 weeks, and a trim every 8. I have not had ANYTHING done it at all since August now!! It’s long and wild and of indistinguishable colour! I have to be very smart for work, so I wear it up, but I am planning to have some blond highlights through for summer (by which point hopefully it’ll be recovered from all the various dye) and have long beach-style waves. At the moment it’s more like hedge backwards curls! It has saved me about £450 quid tho! Jeepers, that is a lot isn’t it when you work it out! I should go for a trim tho, it’s been over 6 months.
Thrifty (and others) argggg! I feel your annoyance! My DH is mostly very good and we had our LBM together so I can’t complain but that would drive me nuts!
Well, another SFD here – double figures! Ate a lot of choccies at work – shame – and no exercise either. DH out for the eve, so me and the cat and kitty watching old comedies on Netflix and eating nonsense.

Evening everyone
First of all, I'm so sorry for your loss hismissus. I know we're a bunch of strangers, but we're all feeling your pain and offering a vitural hug.
So today was a SFD :j And I managed another yoga class. Just home and i have a large bowl of spinach, tomatoes, olives, brown rice and tofu - yummmmmm!! Hoping for at least two more SFDs this week as I hit the supermarket (namely Wholefoods) a few days ago to stock up on yummy healthy proper food! Budget's getting a bit tight, but I'm feeling fantastic now that I'm back on the vegan clean living track
I'll be back tomorrow for another thrilling instalment0 -
So, I've got to the end of the money for this month! A couple bills that I had forgotten from before christmas needed paying and now anything we spend is out of savings.
Which means, we can't spend anything!!!
Mmmm, I have about 80€ in my pocket which can pay for any food we need. That said, I have done a lot of batch cooking and it's all in the freezer so that will help. I also have a few basics in the cupboard (flour, sugar, pasta) and some tins of tomatoes etc., so I am going to do my best to get to next payday without buying more food other than fresh green stuff and bread/milk. it will depend a bit on the rest of the family as they have a lower tolerance than me for odd food concoctions.
Next pay day is the 26th, but it would be nice to get to the end of the official month without dipping into savings, but we'll see.
We have to get into the habit of living within our income and this challenge is doing me the world of good. This month I have been able to use up stores and extras but next month it will be harder as I won't have so much in the cupboards. Stricter planning needed I think.
Honestly, just keeping away from the shops had made a massive difference, and I haven't missed shopping at all.Seriously money saving0 -
Hi all, It's NEARLY FRIDAY! Woooo! :j
I have managed to steal another SFD. Total SFDs = 11 :T
I will most certainly require some top ups tomo so my Spend Free day run shall be stopped in it's tracks!
I have shocked myself at how much exercise I have partaken in today. The forecast was for really heavy rain this eve so I thought I'd get out early and go for a quick run solo- only 15 minutes (I am rubbish at road running alone!!). When the time came round for running with the girls (later on) the heavy showers still hadn't shown up so off I went again. We are running a new route and actually kept pace really well this eve for some unknown reason (maybe the prospect of a slice of cake after kept me going!), so another 45 minutes of running. Got back and actually googled the route and we covered a lot further than I thought. So a little bit proud of myself :A
Total exercise T.D= 4 hours 45 mins/ 4.5hours :T
All showered, in pjs, relaxing and immersing myself in MSE!
Hope those feeling poorly are on the mend, and kittys are feeling better!!:coffee:

Evening all,
Good luck for tomorrow splodge
Today was SFD number 10, took lunch to work, drank no alcohol, walked the dogs and have just got back from the gymPretty successful day, so I'm shattered and hungry but it's weigh in day tomorrow so I'll resist the urge for a snack!
It's payday a week tomorrow and I can't wait to reset my spending balances, and then not spend them! I've got a couple of potentially expensive social outings in February so need to keep them as cheap as possible and avoid all other spending. I've also got my fingers crossed for a bit of birthday money so I might be able to afford a treat, I'd really like a massage and haven't been to a beautician for over a year so would love to have some guilt free money to spend on myself.
Hope you, your families and pets are all well. I'm snuggled up in bed with all the dogsLBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Sorry his missus, I got your name wrong but the sentiment is the same. I am so sorry for your loss.
Spend day today but only £2.30 and I can justify it. I was on nightshift last night and it was an awful morning, really knocked me and my colleagues for six so I bought some condensed milk and digestives to make some truffles (we had been discussing it earlier in the evening). It was partly to cheer them up and partly to thank them for all their hard work.
So I feel that it was worth losing the spend-free day.
On the plus side, I bought tescimos own digestives so I have now dropped a brand. That's a whole one drop-down so far.
Hope everyone is getting ready for payday (I think mine is next Thursday). Hooray.
It's not that I need any more money or anything, I am just hoping that I can pay a large chunk off the card. (I am hoping for maybe £500 - £600 this month).
I have also booked four bank shifts for February so should hopefully be able to pay off a chunk in April too. (Won't get February's shifts paid until the end of March).
Have a great day tomorrow... Almost the weekend. Just hold on a wee while longer.
