Happy birthday lilyanna.
Spend day today. Ran out of fruit and veg so had to get some, realised that I was low on milk, coffee, tea, salad and bread too. So scanned my food planner and bought all the bits to tide us through. OH gets paid Friday and we still have a few pounds in the bank.......unheard of for January!! £39.99 spent in supermarket which was a little more than I intended but still good for me!!LBM 2008 [STRIKE]£45,091.23[/STRIKE] eek: now £7889:T Debt free date 18/07/20180 -

Ok so today was a NSD and I walked the school run so thats another exercisey day under my belt.
Hopefully tomorrow will be a NSD but Wednesday will be a spendy day as need to get ingredients for DS's birthday cake and I'm off out for dinner with my friends which I am so excited about.
Set myself some savings goals through my bank and the online budget planner they have on the website so goals are feeling clearer.

on my 9th sfd. def agree with those feeling flat, i wish i could just magic this debt away, although i did turn down a rare offer of overtime tonight, just couldn't face a residential shift backed onto my usual 8 hour shift-esp as it would only net me about 20quid.
as for wishing life away-i'm already trying to plan febs food budget! feb is difficult, i live with my parents in feb so away from my freezer and cupboards and mum won't feed me but complains i'm in the way when i try to cook. in part i'm planning feb cuz i get paid on wed's and want to work out how much i can throw at debts.
i'm going to look in my cupboards for sweeties and sulk in front of the tv.Credit card respend 2551.58 (15/02/17)0 -

Lilyanna Happy Belated 38th birthday wishes to you
MrsGSR Hope your GP appointment went ok today
Soldiering on with the mid month boredom also but have felt the days go quickly! Im on SFD 13 today and have found that the challenge of no spending and putting my brain to imaginative uses has kept me occupied :T
I checked my on line mobile phone account earlier and it shows that my £9 per month sim only contract bill is £22 due to voicemail, pictures, internet and 0845 no's! I rang to ask if they could switch off my voicemail facility and they have now upgraded my bundle and this will be a free service from now on :T I also queried why I had been charged extra for internet usage when my account shows that I am well within my limit and they have agreed to refund £5 off my next bill :T
The bargain smartphone I was going to buy to replace the one I have with the charging problem has increased in price! So after doing some research I have decided to get the battery replaced at a local shop for £20, so technically that will be money saved :T
I anticipate that tomorrow or the following day will be a big spend day! I have RAC cover to pay for, food and fuel top ups and other bits like buying birthday cards etc.. I think WH$mith sells a book of 12 second class stamps for £6, do you folk know of anywhere thats cheaper?
Am about to sign off now to have my tea and while Ive been typing up this post and gassing on my phone, the bloomin handset microphone has conked out! My voice can be heard but I cant hear the speaker on the other end! Good job I hadnt replaced that battery! Time to invest a new one me thinks

Dd's bday today:bdaycake:. She's been opening presents since her party on Sat. Oh to be 6 and to get soo excited! And I'm happy because she was really thrilled with the knitted owl I made her.
I divide the month into 3, with 'things to do' in each third. Some are part of the challenge (shopping days, exercise...), others are things I want to get done (declutter 10 items, knit 3 items, sugar + grain free days). I love having a tally to do, or jobs to tick off! This helps keep the ''meh'' feeling at bay as I have things other than money to concentrate on....
Thanks for the advice on bleaching mould - will give that a go tomorrow.
Today makes NSD 8 and day 12 with no sugar or grains passing my lips. I had some of dd's bday cake on sat plus a treacle flapjack I'd made last week for dh. Not surprisingly, it didn't sit well in my tum! So I'm spurred on to keep off the stuff again.
Hang in there all you who are feeling meh and bleugh. The days will pass; payday will come; debts will decrease; and we will sign up for Feb with NSK!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Apple Muncher I second what you say about dividing the month into sections. I get some comfort in looking at my little black book (Im not technical enough for spreadsheets!) where the days/dates of the month are written down on one page and I separate each week into blocks. I then break that week into a sub section, (i.e. a chunk of days that Im doing 12 hour shifts and have no life) so half of that week is distracted at work and the other half I need to find distraction. I feel that focussing on a week at a time is manageable whereas looking at the month ahead is daunting and overwhelming. I have the utmost pleasure in crossing each day off in my book (black book/wall planner and work diary!) and seeing the gap in that week block get smaller and Im closer to entering the next week.. Its the visual element of seeing it that helps.. You must think Im bonkers :rotfl:
I have been trundling through this month like its been groundhog day.. focussing on one day at a time, trying to live in the moment and not spending each moment thinking too far in the future..
The days do pass but its important to remember how far we have come and not how far one has to go.Ninja Saving Turtle

Oh, Applemuncher, as is the case so often, you have cheered me up and re-focused me on the things that matter! What a great idea splitting the month into three with challenges / to-do's for each third... I love ticking things off to-do lists, and having mini goals and thus mini achievements. I am so going to implement this. I need to re-focus on some of my non debt goals for a better life (that still don't include spending!) that NSK asked us to identify (was that in December's challenge or this one? I forget) . I am in awe of your no sugar success to date and glad DD had a great day! And knitted toys are the best!LBM Aug 2013 - DEBTS AS OF THEN £25,150  now: £0 :j

Evening all. SFD number 6 today. Nothing much else to report - no exercise today - and too many sweets in work - we are chomping through the remains of the Christmas stash.
I'm feeling a bit flat too today. It's a long time until pay day! At least the evenings are (gradually) drawing out. Just need the mornings to get lighter now.
Have a good Tuesday everyone!0
