Happy birthday Lilyanna!:bdaycake:
My dd had her bday party on Sat, so I broke my sugar/grain free ness by having some bday cake - homemade, gluten-free, iced by dd herself. It was initially nice, but didn't settle well in my tum, so wished I hadn't bothered! She also went to another party on Sun, so had a very sociable w/end. The poor mite is struggling to wake up now for school - despite me telling her she has a couple of presents on the bed to open, the snores are winning.
I racked up a couple of NSD over the weekend, but only because dh went to the shops for me while I got the party things ready, so I'm counting that as a spendy day. But got no exercise done - worn out from work + dd's stuff!
Money management is pottering on, and I've knitted 3 items so far this month which is on target.
Anyone know how to get rid of the black mould that you get round the bath? (maybr no one ekse gets tHis, but we certainly do!)NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Happy birthday Lilyanna!
Thriftylass – glad to hear DS is on the mend
I have had what feels like a spendy weekend and have spent on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Funny thing is, when I add it up it isn’t anywhere near what I would normally have spent before doing this challenge. The damage was:
Swimming with DH and DS and armbands (for DS;)) - £14
T – shirt for DS - £2
Beer for DH - £10
Haircut for DH - £10 – I budget for this but forgot to include it in my cash total that I took out of the bank
Gaitors and stuff to waterproof boots - £35
2 tickets for the Hobbit in 3D and snacks - £37!
Food – I need to check the receipts but £21 in M&S and a spend in Morries. I think I will have spent my budget now with over 2 weeks to go! I knew this would be a tough budget to stick to so damage limitation in place now.
We hardly ever go to the cinema and the film was fabulous, there was only 4 people in a huge cinema so it was almost like a private screening. The cost made me wince though and I certainly won’t be going on a regular basis at the price:eek:
I spent 45p on a bag of crisps to go with my lunch on Friday, unnecessary really so I have lost a LTW day.:o:(
Swimming on Saturday and an almost 2 hour dog walk yesterday so I am keeping up with the exercise.:)
I need to get my eyebrows done (presonal spends budget) and they have a food bank drop off at the Mr T where I get them done so I will buy the items rather than donate as I would prefer to do this.
Aiming for NSD every day this week except Tuesday when I will need more fruit and milk. I managed to list the contents of my larder/pantry/big cupboard thingy on Saturday and was shocked by just how much food I have in. I still have 1 freezer to list which has mainly bread in it. I am going to plan my meals around what I have in and only buy fruit, bread, milk, cheese and yogurts between now and the end of the month.
A colleague reminded me it is pay day next week and I was shocked as I have been using cash and working 1st to 31st instead of pay day to pay day this month and still have a good amount in the bank.:DSave £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
Make £2021 extra income - £99.750 -

I have a cinema pass so pay £15.90 per month and can go to as many films as I like for that price - although I do pay a supplement if I go to see something in 3D. I just went online to check how much it would be if I went without it and am shocked to see it's £9.10
You can save a lot of money by going on Wednesdays too if you're an Orange customer as you can get a code which gets you two for one. I use that with my cinema pass so the person coming with me gets in completely for freeI rarely buy snacks at the cinema - a large handbag serves me well
You can also follow this thread which shows you codes for free films in your area. If you're near a major city you'll usually get some good ones.0 -
Now, sth. strange is going on. I have £26 in my wallet, £39 in my account = 65 quid. But only £33 in my spreadsheets???? I double and triple checked everything but can't find the solution. Well, better have more than expected than lessDEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250

Two SF days on the trot - go me! Mainly down to deliberately leaving my purse at home when going out and about as willpower isn't a strong point of mine
Visited DD2 in her student accommodation at the weekend - lovely house but with laminate floors in all rooms and blinds not curtains at the windows - very practical but it was cold everywhere despite the heating being on so I am on the lookout for some inexpensive rugs or carpet runners/offcuts for her bedroom to take the chill off for her. She has an attic bedroom + has three quilts on her bed, - one to sleep on and two on top to keep her warm...it was so cold, we could see our breath!!

Evening all,
Tried to post this morning but it went all dolally on me.
Worked some OT today then got home and cooked tea, have only just sat down after tidying up, folding nappies and ironing shirts!
It was a spend day today, I had seen a top that I thought would be ideal for DS that was heavily reduced the other night but couldn't get it and it was still there so I got it today. In fact all my purchases were reduced so that's ok right?
I have a question NSK, forgive me if you have already clarified this but when it comes to children's activities where the money is already allocated does that mean it's a spend day?
I have a kids budget and I allocate the money at start of month so its already accounted for. Hope that helps. L2B.xLBM 2008 [STRIKE]£45,091.23[/STRIKE] eek: now £7889:T Debt free date 18/07/20180 -
