  • Evening all!

Well I have finally sat down to a bit of trash TV ( Lake Placid 3 anyone?) having made myself a banana cake, red lentil and carrot soup, red lentil humus ( Shyspender let's share recipes...:rotfl:) and a beanfeast and TVP shepherds pie. I have surpassed myself and actually found enough room in my freezer - packed new tupperware with pie and EDV vegetables for an easy defrostable meal when I get home from work! Phew!

Foodage top-up today. £11 or so from Lidls and £3 from Tescimo's with a £4.67 ( weird number ) donation to the food bank box that has finally arrived at my local branch. See facebook page for a list of what I bought... feels good! The box was stuffed as well so clearly many people are getting on board.

I have just had to change channel - what a rubbish film...

So I am sat here in hair rollers and a face mask relaxing before a crazy week begins. Quite looking forward to my first archery class tomorrow:T, finally handing over the deposit for my new flat on Tuesday and Wednesday I am working late then away Thursday and Friday so am so glad I have finally managed to get my food sorted cause I have some serious late-nightage coming up....

Beauty budget has been blown - with new mascara and clear mascara for my outrageously out-of-control eyebrows ....

Right I need to read back a bit - missed you guys!!...Awwwww!

  • Evening everyone,

Thanks for kind words and hugs, DGD is a bit better today, but still in hospital. On SFD 10, we went to aSda last night and got some fruit and veg and stuff for meals during the week. Made more sweet potato soup and a veg curry for tomorrows dinner.

Rosiecheekblossom - Well done paying your C C off :)

Thriftylass - Hope your lad is feeling better soon
    Total debt - £16,687.86 approx. - Paid so far - £13,156.30 - £350. a month to DMP - DFD 17/01/2019 But I WILL make it sooner!!
  • Evening all. Checking in with SFD number 5. Saturday was a predicted spendy day - £17.29 on food, £1.40 on parking. Also bought a new vacuum for £60 (on credit card which I will pay off when the bill comes in). It is a super duper one - I used it this afternoon and I didn't realise my carpets were so dirty so I think that is £60 well spent. My last one lasted me over 12 years so fingers crossed this will last as long!

Have done a lot of cooking with the slow cooker - cooked a casserole overnight which I have boxed up in to 6 portions which are now all in the freezer. Another casserole has just finished so will box that up tomorrow when it has cooled down.

Went out for a run yesterday morning, but no exercise today. Will go out for a run after work tomorrow.

Hoping tomorrow will be a SFD day.

    Have a good Monday everyone!
  • Hi!

Had a spend day yesterday - caved in and took myself off to see The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug. What an awesome film!!! I loved it...

    Today: SFD = 7

Having an early night tonight... aching and tired! I made 3 gym visits last week - so pretty chuffed with that!

    Catch you all tomorrow x

Thanks for the well wishes. DS is fine now. Must have been some strange 24h thing. This evening by half 6 it finally went down, he started drinking and eating a little bit and chatting away (hadn't really uttered a word all day, was just hot and limp). So hope he will be as good as new tomorrow.

All this cooking and baking going on.....I better make a wee plan for when mini-me 2 arrives and stock up the freezer too.

  • Evening one and all,

Well the end of the world happened yesterday...I turned 38

I guess I've been treading water this year waiting for it to happen and now it finally has I feel a lot better, a bit like a visit to the dentist you're dreading and when it's finally over you feel relieved :D

So in the spirit of new beginnnigs I can finally feel my motivation returning. I've finally completed my end of year financial review (how posh does that sound :rotfl:) and have my new plan all set up for this year, DFD 31/12/14 baring the wheels falling off!

As I'm looking after the money and the food/shopping the OH has agreed to sort out a fitness program for us both. OH plays basketball and football whereas I prefer the gym and running so this should be interesting :D

Have 4 SFD so far which is pretty poor for me, I think this reflects the general 'bleugh' I've been feeling in the run up to my B'day. Hopefully it's full steam ahead now. That said I've nearly run out of money so I'll be having SFD's whether I want them or not :o

I read the posts everyday so keep up with all your busy lives but will try and post more often, though somedays I just can't seem to get out of my own way :undecided

Hugs and high fives to all that want them ;)

    See you all tomorrow

  • Well done on surviving your birthday Lily! The anticipation for anything like that is always more tricky than the event, in my experience. So congratulations  and hugs to all others who need them.

Managed to dodge quite a bit of spending this weekend, but no NSD's. A friend came to stay in order to go to another friends birthday party, I declined the invite to join her at the meal out and instead stayed home dog sitting my mates mutt (which did encourage me out for a long walk, helping my fairly slow exercise total this month!)! It was great to catch up with my friend either side of the party though, and I got a lot of jobs done last night.

Had a paying guest staying this weekend too - hopefully money arriving from his visit tomorrow. Payday on Wed and I'm hanging out for it! Had to juggle tiny amounts of cash around on Sat pm to avoid the overdraft getting triggered. But I think I won!

An amazing friend visited today and we laid my new lino in the kitchen. Much needed as been a real saga since August of damp, massive voids in floor when wet wood cut out etc. So nice to have it finished and because he had lots of bits we needed - tools and odds and ends - it only cost me £10 on top of the lino cost which #i got earlier this month as a offcut and in the sale. The £10 was for finding a way to level the floor!! And now I'd feel ok having a go at the lino another time, plus lovely to catch up with him.

Ebay has ended and 3/4 items sold, making just under £40 when fees etc taken I think. I sorted a load of books out ;ast night - really varied price offers between zapper, amazon trade in and we buy books. Got another couple of boxes to go through before sending them off. Never done this before but we do get through a lot of books, so worth trying.

Pizza takeout tonight but a friend surprised me by picking it up on their way to mine, so was free to me. Ate lots of soup from the freezer over the weekend, One quick trip to Aldi yesterday but only for a few pre-planned things, mainly linked to having guest here. Just bought their oats as part of our downshift...hope we get on better with them than you, Suziebabe! Luckily we like flapjack too.

Got my eyebrows done yesterday but did some research online and tried out a little salon close to home rather than the in town / near work places I used to frequent that were pricy. Its at least £3 cheaper there, and they did really need a good taming after months of doing myself. Made me feel better anyway, and encouraged me to walk over :) then I walked into town to bank cheque. It was a lovely sunny day - glad to be out in it after this last few weeks! Also found a pair of shoes for work in a charity shop I popped into on spur of the moment - only £3. Result!

    Have a great week folks
  • Morning All,

Been up since 3.30am and tired already, going to be a long day!
Well 2 more SFD's this weekend, was hoping today would be but petrol light has come on and I have a 5p off voucher so will be filling up before work!

Plenty of food in cupboards/fridge and with meal planning I should be ok for the week.

Will be fitting in my exercise sessions this week also starting with 1 tonight!

Have a good day everyone! Eh xx

    Happy belated birthday, Lillyanna!

The good news is that DS is fine again, but we've been up since 5 because he slept so much yesterday. Usually get till half 7, and don't need to leave till half 8. That should be an interesting day as I'm only allowed two coffees. Guess it's good training for when baby comes.

Today should be an SFD and uneventful.

Everhopeful, gosh, I got off lightly with 5 am then. Hope the day goes quick.
