    Afternoon!

A low spend day today so far and hopefully will stay that way.

I think this challenging is really starting to kick in. I'm taking January as a training run as I was so far off being able to meet the challenge rules when I first read them. I can't guarantee that I will succeed next month, but I feel a lot more confident about my chances than I did a couple of weeks ago!

Oops was going to be a Sfd but bought the Asda bespoke offer so doubled my money 10 voucher for 5 pounds. :j Help food shop next weekend, Offer sold out now, lucky to get it.:T

This week I can't afford to spend looking at my bank account so going to be on best behaviour from now on, this month is going to a hard one. Sure I can start eating through my cupboards:rotfl:

Afternoon everyone :) How are you all today? I managed another SFD on Saturday, but yesterday was a different story. Rather than visit the supermarket on Saturday after work, I decided porridge would make a good dinner :) This meant when I woke yesterday I had nothing for breakfast/lunch. I had a busy busy day working plus a yoga class to contend with so I splurged on a brunch in an organic cafe. I also had a pre-yoga smoothie to keep my energy levels up during the class. All good stuff :)

So, I managed 5 yoga classes in the last week and best of all I'm back on the healthy eating wagon - hurrah, I thought I'd never get round to it!! I guess that means my food bill will go up now...

I also used the rest of my petrol allowance. I have around three quarters of a tank and we're nearly half way through the month (hurrah!!!) so I may need an extra splash towards the end of the month, but I'll drive as carefully as I can and try to stick with what I have.

Just having a late lunch (rye bread, hummus and avocado - mmmmm) then I'll swing by the Post Office on my way to yoga and post last night's Ebay stuff. I have a super expensive month ahead (tax return, bleugh!) so any extra money for old stuff on ebay is very welcome :)
  • Hello all! A slightly deflated feeling KarmaChi checking in.

I had a mix of spending and non-spending days this weekend, and my SFD total is now 7!

Which is all fine and dnady, but I have to say I don't feel it. I'm feeling very January flat, and a bit like I'm treading water with the debt busting *sigh* I'm sure it's just a mood and this too will pass.

    Evening all

Happy belated birthday lilyanna, hope you had a lovely day.

Plodding on with the challenge and mid-month boredom. SFD number 8 today and alcohol free day too. Took work to lunch, although I am running out of sensible combinations so will have some weird lunches for the rest of the week I think.

I feel I am constantly wishing my months away, waiting for the next payday so I can pay off the next chunk of debt. Anyone else the same?

Fmess, I'm the same. Wishing the month away, to get closet to payday, put more into wedding saving and to get closer to get this baby out :)

The nursery just told us which months will be 4 or 5-week months this year in terms of fees. So I'll fiddle with my numbers for the next few months and maybe also figure out what pay I'll have n maternity leave in more detail. We'll keep DS in fulltime nursery till week 42 of my pregnancy or the end of March. After that he'll go in just one day a week which will be covered by on set of childcare vouchers. The other set we'll save so we have a bit of a cushion for when they both will be going to nursery and baby is still in the expensive one.

    Anyway, sorry, enough waffles
    Tada
finally tea total but in still in (more) debt (Oct 25 CC £1800, loan £6453, mortgage £59,924/158,000)

    Happy Monday :)

Small spend today- some little bits for my Ma's Birthday cake. No exercise today, hopefully a run tomorrow.

Had a bit of scare earlier when a massive van started reversing towards my little car and I couldn't get my car in reverse (gear wouldn't go quite into place) so had to sit tight and keep honking my lil rusty horn until they stopped. Literally a whisker from crushing my lil rust bucket (and me).

Thanks, do you count it as a nospend day if uou use it thiugh.

Yes because it's already allocated. Although buying a cuppa tea there out of the money I would class as a spend. Lol. Does that make sense? In my head it's only the admission/class that is covered. L2B.x

Eek, Loveadove - close call! glad you are ok!

Fmess, I definitely feel like that.. I can’t wait to see the debt come down, but a bit worried life is passing me by or even worse I am wishing time away. I seem to spend a lot of time looking at how many days till the end of the month / till the next card is paid off / till the one after that is paid off and on and on… DFD seems too far away to dream about yet.

And KarmaChi, I hear ya – No matter how well I achieve in SFDs or exercising it all just feels a bit flat and a bit meh. I hope we’ll get through it soon. I guess the trick is to just keep going no matter flat how we feel.

SFD here, but no exercise. Hoping for a post work run tomorrow and no spends till Friday at least.

    Another SFD :D

I've made a massive pot of soup too, so that should be my LTW for the rest of the week as well!
