Well done everybody :T
Checking in with updated sig. Went to great lengths to preserve NSD yesterday and in doing so discovered a free parking spot within reasonable distance of the hospital. Only available after work hours but thats when I tend to be visiting and stay longer so on that one visit alone, saved me £5.40:money: I begrudge hosp car park fees a bit as with relatives in three different places including one whose been in for 10 weeks, it really mounts up. Combatted by the amazing free care they are getting I guess.
LTW and no purchasing choc is going well, challenge is particularly helping me to resist the vending machine at work. Not been much chance to cycle in yet but hope weather will ease enough soon, and flooded cycle paths subside!
Loving reading all the things folk are doing to stay on track. We are still eating up our cupboards at the moment - today it was using some of the reduced toms I cooked up for crumble a few days ago with our reduced pasta (10p for 2 x 2 portions). Yum!
Was prompted by the challenge to invite neighbours in from both sides to talk about leaks in roof. Agreed to see if we can get one roofer to do all of the jobs that need to be done on the three houses. Then moved onto inside the house - perhaps we can also get an electrician out once as we all have a few odd jobs we'd like done. We don't know the neighbours well so it was great to make some plans together. Must be some savings in combining requests, surely...Its good to talk!
Also - my boss said yes to some overtime. Unusual circumstances for me. Not sure yet how much but very pleased.
Must dash - dozing off now! Nighty night x

Today will be LTW #4 for me and I'm aiming to get my exercise done too. Hoping for a SFD as well, but the office is always a temptation for me, so hopefully I don't succumb!0

Checking in with my scores - these spend-free-days are the toughies for me as the shops have some brilliant deals on at the moment and the temptation to splurge is strong! But so far, so good
I am very guilty of the "its only £1" mentality and its enlightening how these odd pounds chip away at the housekeeping money

DFD 1st December 2014
Need to get organised with a comprehensive shopping list this weekend so I buy only what I need - reviewing the main household budget has made me realise that I've failed to budget for several things like pet vaccinations and meds so I will need to be very strict to be able to achieve my DFD target of 1st December.
Slightly depressed at the prospect of pulling the belt even tighter but it needs to be done for my peace of mind.
Need to join a credit union to get any spare money squirrelled away - if its not in my purse, it can't be spent:heartpuls The best things in life aren't things :heartpuls

Ooh ok!
I'm actually new to the area so I only really know my mum, grandparents and the people I work with!!
I've been given a territory including the road my mum works on (handy!) the road the convent is on (do nuns use Avon?!) and the flats on my road (I'll meet the neighbours!)
I have slight concerns about getting into a routine because I work in a restaurant and my shifts, days etc change every week but the Avon guy said I can just fit it around my shifts.
I'd like to hold parties too, if I can get people to turn up! I might invite people from my mums work coz they used to order quite a bit of Avon but the lady that did it has left now.
Fingers crossed it works out!! X
I used to be an Avon rep, from Jan 2011 to Jan 2013, I agree that if you want to make real money pounding the streets is the only way. I made around £50 a campaign at one point then I dropped a street when I became pregnant with DS.
I did enjoy it but once I dropped to friends (customers from streets I canvassed) and family I only made enough to cover my toiletries.
It's really good if you can get a work place as customers like your mums work, I used to sell to a dental surgery and they bought loads!Squirrelling away in September No 33It's not about the money, it's about financial freedom, being in control of it and living in the natural world and not a material world0 -
Well done for getting back to the gym yesterday Kat... was right there with you... 30 minutes of weights too - but I struggled even lifting what I had previously... and I did just 15 minutes cardio after and I felt it... amazing how much you can lose after just 2 weeks...
Like you said - that broke my general inertia - and the diet is back on track-ish! Made stuff for today to take in and restocked on healthy fruit, veg and fish etc yesterday. Hoorah!
Today should be a SFD...!!! Have a great day folks!!!

Morning all
I did a 40 minute dog walk last night and my right knee was a bit sore last night and stiff this morning when I got up but is almost back to normal now. I walked quickly with the dog pulling on his lead and in normal trainers on pavement so this may be why. I may dust off my bike and do 3 miles at the weekend on the flat as well.
DH fancied a kebab last night so I said get one if you want but I dont want anything as with coeliac disease I should not eat them and because he would have had to go and get one himself he didnt bother:) We didnt stick to the meal plan but had sausages from the freezer instead of store cupboard chilli but no money spent:)
My totals including yesterday are:
1. SFD 6/20
2. Food £67/£130 including bin clean
3. Diesel £50/£100
4. Fun money £6/£40 DS haircut
5. Brand downshift 5/5
6. LTW 5/22
7. Exercise 4/10 sessions
8. Beauty 0/£10
9. Food bank £0/£3
10. Booze free days 8/31
I tried to pay the food bank on line yesterday but the system at work is so old it wouldn't go through and I forgot to do it at home last night.
Oh and I found 5p roadkill so I am up on the day:D
I am not planning to spend today, have my lunch and breakfast with me and won't be drinking or exercising today.

Went grocery shopping last night to Mr T's, £89.12 spent on food etc and a further £3 on a birthday gift. They must think customers are very forgetful, I have been buying their own brand pesto for 99p a jar, last night when I looked for it they have changed the label and it is now £1.30, how can they justify it.
They overcharged me on a reduced item so I went to CS and she tried to forget about the double the difference, I reminded her and amid much muttering she gave me £1.32 back. Also swapped some oranges at the CS till, I wanted tangerines for £1 but DH said he wanted satsumas and they were also £1, turns out they were £2.25:eek: but they had put them all out in the display with the £1 price, not an accident methinks.
SFD today, I am spending the day cleaning and delivering Avon books and then back to work tomorrow.
DS came home from cubs last night with a letter about a trip at the end of this month costing £10. It just will not end.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Went to the Mr T yesterday (the things I needed didn't justify driving all the way to Aldee) and spend £23 on groceries (bread, fruit, cold cuts) and £9 on HH items and razors for OH. Today and tomorrow should be SFDs.
Managed to cycle in again today, hoping the weather holds a bit longer and any budgeted bus money not used will go to the savings.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
A SFD for me yesterday :j:j
Really helps leaving my purse in the office when I go out on appointments (I'm an estate agent) stops the temptation of popping into a shop
Today should be a SFD as well lunches for all family taken into work/school.
My DD just made me smile had planned on going to pub at weekend with her bf and friends but said they are now all coming round to our house for pizza and wine as much cheaper than going to pub. I'm teaching her well and I don't mind them coming to our house gives OH and me a chance to go out for a meal that we have a voucher for
Will update my sig now with my new SFD totalsJJ #81 6/20 NSD £100.48/£400 food budget (5 people plus doggy). £118/£150 petrol budget.
