Missyv30 - it will get better. Trust me. You are doing so well!!! It can be so disheartening sometimes but you need to keep pushing forward...
Shyspender- Whoop!!... would that all go in one pay packet next month?“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Evening All,
Checking in, I'm on 3 SFD's now, hoping to get another few in this week, just takes some organisation with lunches for work and planning my spends for the same day!
Had a lovely weekend with two 3 courses dinners, paid for by OH and b'day dinner and cocktails last night, which I had to pay for but totally worth it!
Spent a couple hours tonight reviewing my finances, after a discussion with parents repayment of money lent, a third is knocked off as my nan is giving me some money. I'm now even more motivated to pay it back!

Had a NSD yesterday so that's 3 now. I knew it would be like this at the beginning of the month but everything is going as planned, which is an achievement in itself.
Today will also be a NSD and so will the next few hopefully.
I've got to take the cat to the vets this month for his vaccinations and the MOT is also due but I've put the money in envelopes for these.
I'm hoping it's going to be a nice day so that I can get some walking done.
Really enjoying this challenge so thanks very much NSK for all your effort. Much appreciated.

NSK I'm a little way off being able to pay £850 odd from one pay packet.
I had £550 left in the bank when my wages went in and then took the plunge and transferred £300, being cautious, plus the £72.22 because I wanted to round the number down. I think the reason I had more than my normal £400 ish was because December was a mortgage free month for me, one of the benefits of 13 pay packets, rather than 12.
My aim, in order to reach my DFD is £450 a month, which is manageable without too much suffering.Feb NST #4

Should be a SFD today as I'm working at home, although I've noticed that Mr Mooo has eaten most of a loaf in two days  I'm pretty sure he thinks there's a bread tree in the garden :rotfl:0

Morning all,
Shopping day today, will be going to hey diddle and Sainsbos, just discovered my supermarket too so I have used the app to do my list. I'm going to seriously brand down shift as well as do my food bank items. So two birds one stone.Squirrelling away in September No 33It's not about the money, it's about financial freedom, being in control of it and living in the natural world and not a material world0 -
Will have to spend today as we need to do some grocery shopping, fridge is almost bare now. Aldi is not an option for us on a regular basis as the nearest is a 14 mile round trip, I do call when I am in the area but am put off by the queues at the till and if you do a full shop on your own there is barely enough space at the end of the till for two items so would involve some frantic packing.
Kids went back to swimming club last night and picked up the letter about membership fees, £25 per child for one year plus normal weekly fees. Also DD brought home a form for her guitar exam in March which costs £36.25 and is held miles away. It never seems to end sometimes.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Morning folks
Mrs Toast - well done on the weight loss
Splodge - hope you are feeling better this morning and today is a better day at work. Is it worth explaining to your boss how you are feeling and what you need from them?
Today will be a SFD, I have eaten breakfast at home and have my lunch and snacks with me.
Today I MUST EXERCISE. My own NY resoloution was to exercise a minimum of twice a week and I want to do something mid week and not just pile it all in to the weekend when we have long walks planned. I am planning to take the dog around the block when I get in.
DH spent £2 on the euro lottery with work yesterday, a one off because it was a big prize. If they win I will refund him if not it can come out of his personal spends;):rotfl:
I have crunched some numbers regarding what I have left in my envelopes and I think the food budget is going to be tight but the diesel budget will have spare. The diesel is less as I wasn't sure which branch I would be at this month and based it on the one furthest away.
I will finish listing my freezers and stores this week and use this to meal plan until the 31st so I buy as little as possible. It is the amount of fresh fruit that we eat that takes the biggest chunk of our budget.
As long as overall I dont go over my total budget I will be happy and it will gove me a starting point for next month.Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
