Morning, had a pretty busy day yesterday so have just been catching up.
Yesterday was a spend day, I went to pick up a parcel from the PO, pay christmas money into various accounts, charity shop some clothes and books and realised I needed coffee, I buy fresh ground from the health food shop so it is a lot cheaper than supermarket and nicer too. I also saw a bob the builder digger toy in a charity shop for £1 so I got it for DS, they are usually about £8 full price, saw a lot of really decent toys in there so will bear in mind for birthdays.
In my parcel was my new onesie, I got it with amazon vouchers so it cost me 24pspent the rest of the day in it! Vaccumed the house, made bread rolls for DDs lunches, made a beef stew for tea and did a few loads of washing. Also fitted in a sleep as it all caught up with me.
Today we are off to my parents for Sunday lunch, had hoped it would be a SFD but I will need to get some more petrol I think.
I'm not feeling very positive this month I must admit, I don't think I will make all the SFDs for a start as I have money going out for stuff like DDs ballet, I need to get some shopping and nappies next week too and even though this money is allocated for these I just constantly feel like I'm spending!Squirrelling away in September No 33It's not about the money, it's about financial freedom, being in control of it and living in the natural world and not a material world0 -

Clippygirl-I think I will be submerge myself into planning my debt free trip next year too:T
Yesterday I did do 20 minutes walking briskly and today will be the same. I go back to work and the school run on Tuesday, so I will be back to walking all the time.

Back at home now and neither yesterday nor today a SF. the damage is:
Food 41.05 spend in supermarket, plus a MacDonalds for 33.00 (we were late home, hungry, tired:o),
Total of 74.00.
SFD 3/20
Today I have meal planned the week and sorted out some kitchen cupboards - I've found an infestation of meal moths in the draw so have had to chuck out a load of open packets and I'll get a pheromone trap tomorrow. A waste of food but they are really difficult to get rid of and it's the best way to get rid quickly.
Tomorrow will be a trip to the supermarket, so spend.Seriously money saving0 -
Happy lazy Sunday morning everyone
I'm still on my sofa, trying hard to drag myself out of the door. I have a quick afternoon's work to do today followed by a yoga workshop that I'm hoping kicks my a$$ back into shape! I had a busy December work wise, but the exercise and healthy eating took a bit of a back seat, so this workshop is very very necessary for me!!
January 1st, 2nd and 3rd were all SFDs for me :j but yesterday I needed petrol, food and cleanser so I hit the shops after work and managed to get a birthday gift for my niece as well - not necessary for another week but a) the sales were on and b) it saves ruining a future SFD! I was so exhausted when I got home that I fell asleep on the sofa til 1am and then toddled off to bed where I slept til 9 this morning!! I'll update my spreadsheets etc when I get back from yoga tonight and report back with my updated figures.
Have a nice evening everyone0 -
Good morning.
SFD number 4 today. OH went snowboarding and I got months worth of paperwork sorted & shredded, the last herbs cut down in the garden, my clothes sorted (things that fit now vs not till after the baby is born and things to chuck out). and the usual dishes, washing etc.
Now going to relax, eat ice cream with DS and enjoy the last day off before work starts properly tomorrow.
Have a nice sundayDEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Hi all on sfd #3. Hubby was late cancelling his warcraft sub on my mbna card so found an over limit fee there. Paid £60 on it and got the charge waived so ended up over paying. Silver lining. He has no money this month as hasn't been managing his personal account well. This has meant he hasn't been able to pay half towards ds birthday present meaning I'm having a very tight month. I am below budget on groceries though so onwards and upwards.0

Afternoon everyone
Ive had a productive laptop morning and have signed up for $wagbuck$ (which a few of you have previously mentioned) as a way of increasing my income from home .
I then checked my on line bank account to find that somewhere along the daily christmas spending frenzy, I had forgotten to add a £16 spend which I have now amended in my signature! It could have been worse as I did lose track of my spending on more than one occasion!
I have also looked up the cost of renewing the insurance for my £400 car on a comparison site and have managed to find a deal with my current insurer for £145! _party_ _party_. I am not one to just click and buy, I much prefer discussing my cover with a call taker just to make sure nothing has been missed and there is no risk of invalidating my insurance. However, since I own a mobile phone and its an 0800 number I will call from my friend's landline next month, closer to the renewal date. A £120 saving is not to be sniffed at, so all I ask is that my trusty rusty l:heart2:vable charabanc will last me a good while yet :A
I hope today will be a no spend day, making it a five day fiscal fast but there is a small risk that a small spend may occur when I meet up with a friend later. I have 2 yellow stickered Pizza Expre$$e$ in my freezer so I may dig those out to save a few bob!
I am going to have a long hot soak followed by a bite to eat..
Hope you all have a good day

Afternoon
Avon orders sorted, customers texted and books prepped for next 2 campaigns.
My personal spends came in just under £10. 2 shampoo, 2 conditioner, 2 bubble bath, and liquid black eye liner (used mine up on Halloween face painting!)
I have also done a January sale leaflet to get rid of some of my stock. I really hope I get some takers. These are demo products or those bought in batch purchases or special offers. In my sale I am undercutting both rrp and current brochure price so fingers crossed for some sales.
Just had leftovers for lunch. M had leftover mash with cheese and beans and I had leftover sprouts (fried), leftover mash and leftover veggie curry! Hubby had cereal as he had missed breakfast (other than hobnobs). We are a funny lotOnly M had proper breakfast today, I had hobnobs and cake! We have pasta sauce in the fridge ready for tea. Diet starts tomorrow!
Might make some smash scones and curry noodles in a bit.'Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain'0 -
Love this thread! Am checking in now as I plan to be knee deep in clutter for the rest of the day, maximising the EBay free listing window.
Re. Amazon - I've sold quite a few books on Amazon, the ones that tend to go well I've found are either very obscure ones or text books - most novels aren't worth the listing fee unless they're really light. I've got DH and DS to go through their book cases and they've boxed up the ones they're happy to sell - I sit and work through a box at a time, seeing what they're going for, and if it's more than £2 or so, will list them - the rest are going into another box which I'm hoping to take to a car boot in the spring & sell for 50p each or 3 for £1. Failing that, they'll go to charity. It's worth checking out all the listings of other used books - sometimes the cheapest ones are international sellers, and some buyers don't want the wait and prefer UK sellers. Whenever a book sells, I get an email notifying me, and when I log on to mark as dispatched I have a quick check of my inventory to see whether I should raise/lower my price. I find it a LOT easier than listing on EBay, but don't think its worth it for cheap books unless they're cheap to post, it's too easy for a heavy book to eat into the £2.80 per book fee Amazon charge. Hope that helps!
Oh, and I get DS and DH to leave the boxes of books in the living room, where they're guaranteed to get on my nerves, that way I know I'll get round to listing them !:rotfl:
Here's my update for today:
SFDs: 2/20 - been out for a beach walk, so spent on car parking
Groceries: £70/£200 - just under £40 for the week, using up freezer food
Petrol: £0/£60
Downshift: 4/5 - remembered I also downshifted to Aldi's cream crackers. I can confirm there's no difference to any other supermarket's own brand - ditto fizzy water!
Lunch to work: 2/22
Outings: £3/£40 - just the car park at the beach
Food bank: £0/£3
Exercise: 3/3 x 20 minutes - and some! 2 hours walking on soft sand for a lovely sunny dog walk on the beach this morning, my legs are killing me now! Maybe I should try doing my exercise in smaller chunks
Beauty spends: £0/£10
Alcohol: 5/31(365) - counting today already, not even tempted!
Pay Towards Your Debt First: £99
Should have a few SFDs next week, but probably not much else!
Now, ebay or a little snooze first ??:rotfl::rotfl:LBM Dec 2013, Total Debt £31,992.06 Debt Free Date June 20220
