Howdy
Well after turning down a night out last night And tonight in favour of preserving SFDs I got myself out of the doldrums and did some Exercise this evening! :T
The shops didn't close until 7 tonight, so I wrapped up nice and warm before walking the back streets, nosey-ing through open curtained windows. Lovely40 minutes of walking all in all! And not a penny spent as I deliberately left my cards at home.. other than my Waitrose loyalty card to claim my free latte of course
So its 4 SFDs in a row! I could have really done with bread, milk and potatoes but while I am in this mindset of Make Do, I will hold off from spending for as long as possible and eat what I have in the freezer, fridge and cupboards, whether the combinations of food go together or not! I love the term fiscal fasting MoneyMash, I will aim to do that..
I still havent withdrawn £260 from the bank to last me the month (£65 per week). If I can hold out until Monday (just one more day!!) a week will have passed and I will withdraw £190 and try my hardest to make this last the next 3 weeks! :A
Hope you all have a lovely evening whatever youre upto

dd's ballet fees were due today, so I also went to the PO, charity shops, D1sney store and Arg0s. Quite a random mix!
However today has been day 4 of no sugar and no grains and I'm really feeling the difference round my tum and on the scales :j. So tomorrow is day 5, and if all goes well, I'll get to 7 in a row, which will be a first for me. Love the chatter about chocs - a week ago I'd have been pming people with my address to send them to me! But I am reformed, and the fact that I would have to 'fess up on here, makes any justification for eating sugar/chocs seem so poor!
Well done to those of you on your personal fiscal fasts. I think the most I've ever done was 4.
The decluttering continues. Dd announced that she has a load of books we can get rid of. I'm trying to tackle my own stuff too, honest.
Dh gets paid a few days before me, so we can't throw money at the mortgage and savings until the start of Feb. Ooh, it seems a long way away! But there's a whole lot of January still to enjoy.
Am grateful for dh cooking tea, for dd being so stoical about the dolls we couldn't find, for butter (yummy stuff!), for finding 2 Barb1e dvds in the charity shop, for yesterday's knitting actually looking rather good!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Hello all.
Another SFD today & a decent walk out with the family this morning. Managed to persuade DH that we didn't need to take the kids to soft play & if he 'needed' anything he had to buy it himself. He 's been so frustrating today.
My frugal things today have been making fresh bread & fruit flapjacks. I've also cancelled my Amazon Prime so they are gonna refund my £49. Thats going towards DHs motorbike tyresTomorrow will be another SFD as I'm taking the kids to the zoo with our yearly pass. They have an indoor picnic lodge so we can take all our refreshments.

Gosh everyone is doing so well! I am yet to clock up my first SFD
and we'll need to spend tomorrow to get fresh things for our lunches.
We always take our own lunch into work anyway so that is no hardship. I think I'm going to struggle with the brand downshift tho cos apart from coffee (and DH is very particular) we can't think of anything we eat that we don't tart ourselves when the price is cheaper(hmm, just had a thought - we do buy branded pet food - wonder if the cats will eat cheapo?? might give it a go)
We did have a meal out on the 2nd, my mum has been over for 2 weeks and was going home again on the 3rd. The day after she arrived one of the dogs was rushed to vets and had an emergency op, was touch and go for a few days, and it meant we never left the dog on her own the entire time mum was over, so we felt she deserved a meal out as a thank you (mum, that is, not the dog!)From Monday we will get back into our routine and will work extra hard to stay on track (December budget went out the window between mum being here and the dog being nearly dead! And OMG the vet bill will be HUGE  )
On a more positive note we counted up our terramundi and a couple of other money pots we have, and banked a whopping £665 :T:T:T I am feeling VERY chuffed about that:D:D
Anyway, as I said at the beginning, well done everyone else! Keep up the good work. you are all :A

If you go into user cp in the green banner above the messages, then down the left hand side is edit signature - it took me ages to work that out the first time, and then ages to remember for the first few times afterwards!LBM Aug 2013 - DEBTS AS OF THEN £25,150  now: £0 :j
