Happy New Year everyone!
Soo, here goes...- 20 SFDs for January
- Food budget - DH does all food shopping, so £0 here for me! I will commit to taking lunch to work when I start back on 6th Jan, for the whole month = 20 days (I will put £5 into an envelop today in preparation a la NSK advice)
- Petrol budget = £100
- No brands to downshift (DH is VERY MSE)
- Outings - no parties planned (still hungover from last night at a friend's party so no hardship there). However I will budget for 5 horse events at a cost of £80 - this is dependent on whether my horse comes sound again or not, plus any horse competition entries will come from my freelance teaching money
- Commit to £3 to a local food bank
- Fitness - commit to 3 fitness sessions per week - have already investigated entering a half marathon at begining of June, which I have never done before!
- Maintain spending diary
- Beauty spends - haircut already booked for 18th Jan @ £28
- Money pots already in place
- I will also buy all bday cards for the year before the end of Jan, write them and put stamps on so that I do not miss anyone's bday this year (I'm totally rubbish at remembering all the dates, miss them and then feel super guilty)
Wow, now that's scarey!
Onwards to find some more painkillers & coffee
Have a good day everyone

Clippy it was supposed to be my first day of 100% doing The Skinny Rules but we had left over pizza on the fridge and I didn't want to waste it (OH would never eat it). I have therefore ate it for lunch so that I don't have carbs after lunch and I am going to the gym soon so I will hopefully work it off and minimise the damage. :rotfl:

Hi all, please can I be part of this? I have only just spotted this challenge but seems like a fab one to bring in a positive New Year! I will sort all my totals out later, me and hubby were already planning on sitting down this evening and checking out our finances after december so will set all aims and work out our debt after the kids are in bed
Good luck to everyone for a prosperous New Year!mortgage £800 overpayment 2022. £600/£2400 2023 🙂 savings £1853/£1800 😊0 -
Happy New Year everyone!!!
I hope everyone is having a good day and starting as they mean to go on... I'm doing some chores... clearing washing and going through old stuff... going to write to Orange to see when my phone contract expires so I can downgrade to a SIM only for £30 less a month
No gym today as is closed - but healthier eating starts NOW <trying to ignore the big bag of Walkers Extra Crunchy sat in my treat box> lol...

I've just got back from family and logged onto the computer. Apologies i fell off the challenge last month but i'm channelling the positive approach i took in NOvember and am ready to be strict in January. NSK - can i still join in this month or is the challenge closed now?0

Well... here I am. Sitting watching football after getting home at about 06:30 or some silly time like that.
It cost us a bottle of whisky (£13) and OH drank a fair bit of it.
I am going to go out on a limb and class this as a spend-free day... just cause I have no energy today and don't think I will make it further than my parent's house.
Anyways... the challenge:
debt-free date is: 12/12/14 (hopefully).
my diet starts on 3/1/14 so the exercise thing is going to help out greatly.
I have one pre-planned outing for definite, however OH and I might go to the cinema at one point this month (got vouchers for xmas).
No issues with anything else and sig is all updated. Here we gooooooooo!!

Happy New Year everyone! Glad to be back on this challenge as it really motivates me
I couldn't manage last month's challenge but am determined to make this month's work. I've started off well today by paying £300 off my credit card (my DFD is set to assume I can only pay £250 a month as there are going to be some months when I can only manage that).
Numbers for me are:

Groceries: £0/£200
Petrol: £0/£70
