Happy new year everyone! I'm excited for the challenge to begin... having a very glamorous start to the new year today; spring clean before I go back to work tomorrow
Numbers are below:
SFDs: 0/20
Food budget: £0/£120
Brand downshift: 0/5 (slightly struggling with this; as my pay month runs from the 15th-15th I'm hoping to only have to buy veg etc from now until I go on holiday, so I've decided if I do have to buy anything, I will downgrade it, but I'm not going to buy just to buy value!)
Foodbank: £0/£3
Exercise sessions: 0/15
Socialising: 0/£20
LTW: 0/20
I'm hoping to participate in as much of the challenge as I can; off on holiday 12th-19th so I'll see if I can keep it going while away. Let's do this!Proud to be debt free September 2014. :j

Morning all, I've just updated my signature and am very excited to get started
My budgets are already partly spent, my spends budget is nearly all gonebut this is because I was paid on 20th Dec and I therefore run my monies from payday to payday, but my SFDs etc run from 1st to 31st. Hope that makes sense.
I don't intend on going out at all this month except to celebrate my dad's birthday (which should be a free meal) and maybe for my birthday (but this is after my next payday).
My financial goals for the year mean that I need to earn as much extra money as possible and cut back on spending further. I am aiming to be 50% debt free by this time next year :j
I have added two personal aims for the month to my signature. I want to give up chocolate so will be keeping a tally of how many days I eat chocolate on and I will be keeping track of extra money made.
I hope you all have a relaxing day today, I'm trying to convince myself to go the gym :j :rotfl:LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Thrifty lass - I was in bed by 10.15pm! We hadn't planned to but were both falling asleep on the sofa.
I did a food shop on Monday but as what I bought will cover the first 5 days of the challenge I am going to include it and I even down shifted on an item too:) Oh and I bought diesel that will cover the fist week too. Will check the exact amount and update my totals later.
Numbers for me are:
0/20 SFDs - today should be my first:)
0/£130 food budget - lowest I have ever attempted but we are well stocked up
0/£100 diesel
0/5 brand downshift
0/£3 food bank - this is something I am keen to support
0/15 exercise sessions - 10k walk planned for today. Will take a couple of hours but will count it as one session
0/£40 going out, family fun etc
0/22 LTW
DH and I are doing dry January and both hoping to lose a few pounds by cutting out the rubbish and exercising more.
Good luck everyone and Happy New Year:)Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
Make £2021 extra income - £99.750 -
Happy New Year everyone - and happy January! I have the rest of the grocery budget in my envelope ready for the month (did the shopping a couple of days ago as really needed things but counted it under January).
I made chicken in white wine sauce the other night (wine given as a present) and for the first time I chopped up a whole chicken. I honestly hated it but couldnt believe the amount of meat that came from it! It was £5 which would barely get you 2 chicken breasts seperatly. I used 1 breast for the meal, 1 I chopped u and going to make a pie with today for the freezer (chicken and stuffing), and cooked off the legs and wings for the kids lunch yesterday.
I have written down on a spreadsheet everything I bought so I can see where the money goes.£2 Savers club £0/£150

Good morning and a happy new year to all! Very excited to get going on a shiny new challenge!
New start and fresh beginnings slightly scuppered this morning. Had planned to weigh myself first thing so I could start on health kick with a target in mind but the scales are broken! Not sure whether I am gutted or pleased! I think there might be a new battery in the house somewhere for them, if not, I am not spending money on one, so I'll just have to guess and go by how loose / tight my clothes are.
Should be a SFD today and not planning on leaving the house so no cafes or anything to tempt us.
Right, off back to have a 'little lie down' as champers and a head cold do not make for feeling perky this morning. sigh.
Hope everyone had a good one last night and is ready and rearing for the challenge!
x
