  • Wooohoo!
Happy new year to all of you!!

I went for a walk for two hours under the rain and now I am feeling very high :-)
I have printed the Janus Illusion rules and went on the fridge!
Uff I have conquered last year my fear of ALDI shopping :-)! Now I am enjoying being back there and I found that their feta cheese in combination with the smoked salmon, their roseto rose wine taste so good!!!
I bought some ski equipment before Christmas from TKmax but I cannot wait till tomorrow to take all back because ALDI is selling for half the price! I am glad I kept the receipts..!
It is the first time in my live that I am going to use envelopes where I have already allocated in each money for food, travelling, etc! My kids and husband said that this time I look more determined to make all this to work!

    NSD 1/20

    Regards!
    No debts 🙌

Hello this is my first day on MSE, my New Years Resolution of course is to try to become more savvy with my cash and make a dent in my £50,000 of debt. So getting some control seems to be the first step. Please bear with me… I have written down the rules for this challenge and I have starting speaking to OH about it. I feel very motivated, obviously, its the first day of January! I know what I am like and I am so all or nothing so I have to get addicted to this! You may get bored of me. Good luck everyone x

Hello and happy new year to everyone

    SFD - 1/20
    Food - 0/45
    Fuel - 0/30
    Brand downshift 0/5
Outings - none planned so I will have to keep it that way
    Food bank 0/3
    Fitness - 0/20mins per week
Beauty buys - none needed this month

First the good news and this doesn't happen very often to me, I had solar panels fitted (free) in November and the fuel company have reassessed my DD downwards by £15 a month, so that's extra off the debts.

OK then, my food is being bought by my penny pot that I emptied, food left from Xmas, coupons and store cupboard.

Food bank will have to come from food stores, so I will have to guess the price of the tins

Down shift brands, well most are basic anyway, but after some thought I think I will use the market or reduced only for fruit and veggies instead of sm, if that's alright KAT

Exercise, well as its 3 times a week, I think I will call at the local park after work and go around the lake once, as I have been told its a mile long, second thoughts Id better keep going for 20 mins and see how far I get!!

I cant seem to get the smileys to work for me - but they would be in post if I could have.

Happy Sparkly New Year everyone - looking forward to this challenge and I've got the hatches battened down. Still plenty of food in the freezer and cupboards and I have been for a good hike with the doggy this morning and will be ebaying later. My mantra for 2014 is "You can do it" !!!

    SFD 1/20
Fitness - will be walking dog for at least 1 hour every day (shes a Cocker so needs lots of exercise - as do I!!!)
  • Happy new year one and all!
Have managed to pay a good chunk off the credit cards today leaving us with a super tight budget for the month! Can't really drop the petrol budget as its the money hubby and I use in fuel just to get to work and back but have really dropped our food budget. Went to Aldi yesterday where they had lots of their meat, bread and fruit/veg half price so did a large freezer stock up. This is definitely the area where we can make the biggest saving. Don't have too much food budget left for the rest of the month so might have to get a bit imaginative as the money that is left will probably be needed for nappies for the twins, animal food and milk for the twins.
Had to go to the emergency vets this morning with a very poorly !!!!! cat which is going to entail a hefty bill but they are going to send the bill within 14 days and then has to be paid within 28 days so can budget in advance to take that out of next months wages.
Hope everyone else is having a productive day!
    Budgets for month:
    Food - £143.20/£400 left
    Misc - £10/50 left
    Fuel - £218.30/£400 left
