:j Happy New Year Everyone! :j
Hope you are all having a productive/ reflective/ relaxed day!
Had a lovely evening out with friends, came £10 under budget due to getting lifts as opposed to taxis and not drinking much- so that saving has covered the cost of my Lonely Planet book purchase from yesterday! :T
1/ 25sfds -No spends today and a lovely day in with my Ma watching Les Mis is planned.
Petrol- £60.05 for January- had to put some of my Jan fuel budget in the car a couple of days ago when doing an extra festive trip to my Nan's.(Usually £80 budget)
Foodbank -£3
Exercise -4.5 Hours
Beauty - £10
All brands currently own brand or value. Eat lunch at home on work at home days and lunch provided when at work. Rarely enter coffee shop/ restaurant have a take away unless very special pre-arranged occasion. Sticking obsessively to my Spreadsheetsand going T-total for the rest of the month.
Have been creating a bucket list the last few days so imagine I will be continuing to add to it the next few days!
Hope you all have an excellent 1st of Jan! xx:coffee:

Hi again...
I've had a really odd New Year to start with... I'd pencilled it in as a day out, being NY and all... but I've been super dithery... I changed my mind loads about going out... it was raining... the people I was going to meet wanted to go to a coffee shop  - yes they're even open on Jan 01st!!! I eventually made my excuses and decided I wanted to be at home sorting and clearing!!!
I now have 1 box of stuff to send to the charity shop and/or e-bay... I have 1 full bin liner of stuff to throw out that can't be recycled... Am slowly re-arranging my room so it's even more minimalist lol... I've yet to go under the bed to sort through the rest of the boxes there... but will aim to do this month, along with clear the ebay/charity things... I've never put stuff on ebay so am a bit daunted lol...!!!
Out this evening with the guy I'm seeing but am eating here first so I can be good!
SFD = 01/20
Enjoy the rest of your New Year - I'm going to go and chill out and watch some TV!!! Laters x

Lynneee, TennisFanatic, DanielleNic87, The Green Lady, WizzyPop and EyesWideOpen = you have all been numbered! Welcome to the challenge.
CatShark88 = would you like a number?“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -
So Abundant I took a look out the window and thought the same thing - there was NO way I was going outside!
I am pleased to announce that with a little bravery and patience I have reinstalled my big 14inch laptop with it's recovery discs and now have a large laptop connected to the internet and am using write now to type to you!!! :j:j:j
I no longer have to rely on my minuscule 10 inch about-to-lose-my-eyesight net-book AND this has kinda waylaid my desire for a very expensive Apple laptop. For now anyway...
I nearly have ALL my music cd's onto iTunes as well which means I can get rid of them - it's taking a while to say the least and I never knew what a hideous taste in music I have but I am really getting into this down-sizing malarky!!! Shame I discovered a certain fur-baby has chewed through another pair of headphones. This would be number 3. Hummph! They are £9.99 a piece. Sneaky moggy!
Right enough wittering... I got more stuff to be getting on with....and dinner to munch!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Happy new year everyone! :j And good luck to all challengers old and new!
We were in bed by 12:30 last night, after a nice evening in and quite a lot of alcohol... However as it was such an early finish we were both fine today! Hope those of you who had rather wilder nights are recovered!
Today has not been an NSD as had a pre-arranged trip to the cinema to see The Hobbit, taking advantage of Orange Wednesday :money:.
The plan (and progress so far) for this month is as follows. A bit of shopping was done pre-1st due to when our paydays fall, so I'm effectively doing the money bits of the challenge 28th-28th:
Food: £60.66/£200
Misc: £19.24/£60 (didn't have a 'misc' budget last month and realised we need one!)
Spends: £34.13/£100 (Will try to cut this back...)
Drop brands:3/5
Food bank:£0/£5
Diesel: £0/200
Outings:1/5
Exercise: 0/25
I've also booked myself in for a free haircut as a victim of trainees next week. I usually only get my hair cut about every six months, but might do it a bit more often if I can continue to get it done for free! Used to do this all the time but stopped when the time became an issue (they take longer as need supervision etc.) but as I can work from home now, no reason I shouldn't take a couple of hours out and work later in the evening.Debt: [STRIKE]£8652[/STRIKE]£8550:eek:
Honeymoon and post-job savings: £50/£1100,
DFD target: December 2015
Saving for Xmas 15 #35: - £4/£365
NST December #28 - Food etc- £200.71/£260, :xmastree: & decs £0/40, Diesel £48/£110, Christmas presents and spending money £335.59/£380, Food Bank £5/5, SFDs 1/15.0 -

Before you go away, do ensure you've got all your techie stuff backed up! Either on an external hard drive or up in a cloud somewhere. We did this for dh's kids when they went travelling and it was invaluable - sea water, sand, snow, beer, falling from great heights onto hard surfaces, etc don't tend to mingle well with gadgets and gizmos! Are you taking a tablet / laptop with you? If not, then just gloss over what I've written!

Happy New Year!
I would like to be included in this challenge. My goals need to be tweaked slightly so will be as follows:
1. 0/10 SFD
2. 80/400 food budget
3. 20/80 petrol budget
4. 0/10 beauty buy
My DD and SO don't allow for any more than 15 SFD. I have already set myself 10 SFD for the month on another challenge (cos I'm new to this!!)
My food budget is £100 per week for a family of 4. I have decided to stop going to Morrisons and shop at Aldi instead, so I am down shifting all of my shopping not just a couple of brands!
I rely on my car but will walk where ever I can.
My generous family stocked me up on beauty products for xmas but I have allowed myself 1 purchase a month which I am hoping not to need.
I will also calculate my debt free date but will need to look at it closer before I can put it on here cos Icurrently have no idea!! I have my SOA worked out so it should just be a matter of a little maths..... :eek:0 -
So day one and signing on to record totals
1/20SFD
0/£80 Food Budget ( starts on the 10th as payday)
0/£3 Food Bank
1/15 Exercise
0/5 Brand shift
So started the day with a very wet and windy 9 mile run - mad I know but if I can do it on a day like today I can do it anyday.
So after drying out and continuing to eat the Xmas leftovers - Yule Log anyone? have plotted and planned and feel in the right place for this time of year.
I have just £859 left to pay off my cc's and then need to save £5000 this year, so colouring chart added to my notebook/diary/life planner:D .Nothing expensive planned in for January other than the MOT ( but car savings account will cover that, probably need a new tyre) so am hoping to wipe out 1 cc completly this month.
Right off to find my yoga dvd - feel the need for more stretching this year0 -
WELL!!!! Harumph.....
Have sat here patiently working out all my budgets, wrote my shopping lists with the help of mysupermarket then ventured out in the rain to fill my cupboards...only to get to Tesco and be very disappointedthe shelves were nearly empty and the staff very disinterested. So I've had to fill up with petrol but will have to go back tomorrow to shop properly, what a wasted SFD...
AND.....
Aldi was closedwhats that all about?
Not a happy bunny

I currently have a 1TB external hardrive on the go.. with movies and everything.. It was from an ex and has seen better days so I have budgeted for a very good, small, tough new one which is actually reduced on fleabay now... but you are right - invaluable piece of kit!!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence.
