*sigh*
Signed up to do the election count ....... seemed a good idea at the time BUT I'm not great with late nights (usually in bed by 10 :rotfl:)
Oops!
Wondering whether to have a nap .... or not .... I'm not tired atm but can pretty much guarantee I will be later!
Also had a thumping headache since 5am ......
It's made me remember the days of working full time & in the pub in the evenings - they were 19 hour days and I used to hate waking up on one of them and thinking 'oh, 19 hours till I finish work' BUT I always managed ...... wish me luck tonight!Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

I quite enjoyed it BM!
I'd do it again - the only downside is that it would have to be when I'm on hols as there's no way I could go to work as well!Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

So -getting to the point in the month of plodding along to payday ..... I have some good news
My job has been extended by 6 weeks - not a huge amount but better than nothing!
I'm due an increment in June which will be about £50 / month (meaning job will be £100 / month more than my real one)
I'll be in current job until mid August, so thinking if I put the extra £50 away from June & July, I can top up my salary when I go back to my own job in both Sept and Oct (hope that makes sense) (Aug should balance out as 1/2 at the higher rate & 1/2 at the lower rate)
So - it'll be Oct before I drop down again *sigh*
Honestly, even having the extra £50 has made such a big difference ...... love the job too - just wish I could stay in it ...Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Is it a mat leave cover or similar?
Other way to look at it is how can you increase your income by a tenner a week?I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. In a roundabout way - backfill: the person whose job I'm doing is away covering a maternity leave for someone else
Suggestions to increase income happily accepted!
I can't do a 2nd job - really not feasible both health wise unfortunatelyGrocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Bit annoyed tonight .....rising_from_the_ashes wrote: »Well - had a bit of a (rather annoying!) disappointment tonight when I got in from work.
I finally got a proper copy of 'the quote' to get the house maintenance done - I've asked my neighbour several times for it (he doesn't live here) to no avail previously.
He'd said the quote was for both houses and was £250 each on a 50:50 split
I wanted to see the quote as a) he does have more external paintwork than me (they have a small bit extra on the side of the house) and b) I wanted to know exactly what was included.
Anyway, got home to 'a quote' through my door - except it's only for my house AND for £370!
Not sure what's going on tbh but I'm certainly not paying that (I'm still struggling towards the £250!) ..... I don't want to fall out with him but at the same time, I'm not going to be made a mug of
I will need to get the work done at some point but it will probably be OK for another year fingers crossed.
On the good side, it means the immediate panic to reach the £250 is over and I can now officially count this money in my EF :T
