  • mmmmm I might just give it a soak in a bowl with some rock salt later .... ta!

I think it's a bit better today but I'm not sure if I'm just trying to convince myself of that rather than it actually being any better

If it's no better tomorrow, I will have to go and get it seen ..... but ...... it's my birthday so don't think I really want to do it then!

It surely can't get much worse by Friday ..... can it!

  • Oh beanielou - don't you start! ;)

I've had people at work nagging me about my toe today!

'in my defense' :p I had a look this morning and managed to dig a huge bit of nail out .... so decided I should give it another 24 hours to see if that makes an improvement to it

So far ...... actually it's not felt too sore most of the day but it's not feeling to happy now :(

I promise I'll go tomorrow if it's not better!

  • Oh dear :(

So .... it was looking a lot better yesterday after having the extra bit dug out :) - not nearly as red & angry or painful

Until I went to bed ..... honestly, I turned over and went 'owwwww, what was that?) and realised it was 'the toe'

Decided to leave it alone (was knackered!)

This morning .... it's back to being really horrible again

I don't know what's happened - I deliberately put sandals on yesterday (it was lovely & warm - winter has returned today :rotfl:) to let the air at it and it was absolutely fine ....

It's really, really sore today :( have put cream & a plaster back on it .... I will go on Monday to get it looked at

  • Arrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

    I am an eejit!

I saw one of my (favourite) handbags somewhere about a month ago - I was looking for something and opened 'something' and saw the bag and thought 'oh, that's in there is it?' .....

Now I want the handbag, I have absolutely NO idea where I saw it ...
(it would maybe help if I could remember what I was looking for when I saw it .... but can't!)

It was in a really silly place for a bag to be ... (I keep my bags in a big laundry basket in my ensuite!) - why on earth did I not pull it out of the 'silly place' when I saw it and put it away properly!

    *sigh*

I've been in all the drawers in the house so am thinking it must be in the garage somewhere ..... (I've already looked in there & still not found it though)

  • Ahhhhh but handbags are 'my shoes' ;)

Good news is that I found it about 1/2 an hour ago :j it was in the most ridiculously stupid place imaginable :o (I nearly even discounted looking in there as I though I'd never have been that silly! :rotfl:)

Not so good news ..... the toe :(

Without giving too much detail (just an case anyone is eating) ... it's really, really horrible :( Looks the worst yet :(

I've just had a bath so it's been soaked and I've put some more cream on it - even the plaster being on it is hurting :(

I will phone 1st thing tomorrow ..... (omg, the thought of anyone going anywhere near it makes me feel sick)

  • *sigh*

I guess I'll need to start going back to 'my foot lady' again

I really should go regularly (I have my granny's terrible toes! :p) but it's just so bloomin' expensive i can't afford to :(

I go through spates when they get bad and go once or twice for her to sort them but then just can't afford to keep going so it always happens again ..... they have actually been OK for ages

It'll be the nhs clinic I go to tomorrow - they are great at sorting an issue out BUT they will only sort the bad toe and there's no option to have regular 'maintenance' done ... I'd be happy to pay towards it if there was! (a bit like dentists - if it was part subsidised)

I have huge problems with my feet (as many of you know) but I also can't reach my toes to cut the nails properly myself so what are you supposed to do?

  • Toe update ...... slight hiccup in that I was carrying a huge rock (mum wanted some to create a rockery in her new garden) and it literally sheared (must've had a fault in it) and .... landed on my big toe (next to the infected one) AND I had my hiking boots on:eek:

Went to Dr on Thurs morning after sevearl colleagues had seen it and went 'O M G' etc and thought she'd sent me to the local hospital for an x-ray (nearest A&E is 20 miles away). She was worried I'd crushed the join between foot & toe so sent me to A&E anyway! (local hosp apparently send x-rays to big hosp, someone looks at them & sends a report & it can take several days - what's the use in that?)

Anyway .... after a long wait .... it's thankfully not broken but has a big crack in it so I've to be very careful for the next month or it's likely to break .... awful journey home (had to get bus into town and then another bus back to here)

Went to podiatrist on Fri and warned her to steer clear of the big toe .... she thinks it's broken and says as the bones are so small it's often impossible to see the break and it's only when it's healed that you can see the calcification on the x-ray!

Anyway, she inspected my toes (and I think was pretty horrified :o), found ingrown toenail in the infected one (which is looking much better :T) and another in the toe next to it .... and another on the left foot :o

We went through my 'foot history' and she did sensation tests - as suspected fine on the right and no feeling in places on the left.

So ... I've got a cracked big toe and dressings on 3 others :rotfl:

    Leading to .......
