  • Back to work today :(

Been lovely being off & having lovely long dog walks *sigh*

Maisie knows - not sure how but she was really clingy yesterday .......

First dark walk this morning too

  • Been a funny week - back to work but it seems to have flown by!

Ended up having to go to Glasgow for a meeting on Thurs which was interesting (and nice to get out of the office & make some contacts!)

    Train was £27

    Spends this week ......

    Mattress topper for my bed

Physio suggested it when I was there (really hurt my back in the summer & have long term problems with it) but looked at the price of them and :o wow!

Have been keeping an eye on prices (some good deals around as I think many places are switching from summer to winter stock) but all were out of stock :(

I'm afraid I'm not spending £100+ on one!

Anyway, saw one on Mr T's site the other day at 1/2 price (£18) and I have a load of clubcard vouchers ....... put £7 towards it (didn't want to spend all of them on one thing - & they're my last resort should I run out of stuff so like to keep a few £s for emergencies :o) so paid £11 for it

Got it out the packaging and thought - well that's not going to do anything .......

How wrong I was :o OMG what a difference :)

    It's fantastic! :T

My bed is still like a rock (like a hard mattress) so I don't sink, but just a little bit of softness on the top .... well pleased! :)

  • Now ...... I need some suggestions please

I've listed a few things on the local buy/swap site on FB - nothing grand but stuff lying around doing nothing

    So far, I've sold:

    Earmuffs (new) - £5
    Handheld vacuum - £5
    Cat water fountain - £8

I'm not going to get rich but decided I'd try to put any money raised into a piggy (I have a new one - well ... got it for £2 at a charity shop!) and save up for a treat

I don't really treat myself much TBH - funds won't allow once essentials are paid and I have my massage (health reasons) which I really count as my treat

    So ..... treat suggestions welcomed!

Something different - but not wildly expensive (or I'll never reach the amount needed!)

  • Depends on what you enjoy.

Could be some new books, a new kitchen gadget, a manicure, a meal out with a friend, some new garden ornaments, a trip to the cinema...what kinds of things do you like doing?
  • The day turned to frustration .....

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=66601737&postcount=271

Had to spend nearly 2 hours on phone (new insurer, old insurer & bank) ..... not happy!

Wanttobe .... mmm will have a think

I don't really like cinema too often (too far away for starters) as I don't like large groups of people BUT I do really enjoy films - maybe I could save it up for a subscription to NetFlix or LoveFilm ... :T thanks!

  • Have to say my treats would be - a home magazine, a new book, a lipstick, a crafting item.......... Or a DVD currently collecting Silent Witness as I can watch them over and over again
As a dear MSE friend says “keep plodding” or

Or as my Mum would say, brush yourself down, tomorrow is another day or

    mmmm liking your list bubblesmum:)

Thinking I might add some nice smellies to it - I (finally) finished my stash of Imperial Leather Japanese Spa Bubble Baths & Shower Gels (they were BOG2F a while back & bought a load!

Been pootering about all day - usual Sun stuff - lovely walk in the woods / beach with Maisie, washing / ironing, catching up on some TV (had the last 3 episodes of Falling Skies to watch - last one to go) etc

    Off for a soak shortly!

Making Quorn bolognaise with Chorizo for dinner :) mmm yum!

i am longing to get agog, but we've got to make the garden doggy friendly.... I love Falling Skies but not quite sure about this series? I am on catch up to.

  • re Falling Skies - I really didn't 'get' the start of this season

I'm not sure if it's because I watched Seasons 1-3 in very quick succession on demand through the box sets (which I no longer have & why they had to be watched quickly! ;)) OR if it was just odd ...

I struggled through about 4 episodes & then had a break from it (knowing I could watch them when I wanted)

I watched 4 episodes last Sunday - and loved it again!

Had 3 to watch today .... on the last one!

    Now I'll miss it! :o
