Gosh you have been busy. I know its a hard move for them in saying goodbye to the old house but it does sound like a good move all round.

  • O M G ...... I have slept ALL day :o

Wasn't feeling too great last night (just couldn't get warm etc) but slept OK

Up at 6 for Maisie to have a wee & thought I'd go back to bed for an hour..... dragged myself up at about 9 :o - fed her & the cats, cleaned trays etc, put stew into SC*, and thought I'd have an hour on the sofa ...... got up about 1 to put washing on / stir stew etc .... felt awful so went back to sofa and ....... :o

How on earth can I sleep that long?

Feel totally drained - poor Maisie's not even had a walk yet (and can feel a quick trip around the park coming on as I really don't think it would be a wise idea to drive as feeling .... odd)

Deary me - looks like it's been quite nice too :(

    * funny how you just go - I want xx - isn't it. I was in Mr T lunchtime yesterday & came across YS baby courgettes and thought 'mmmm they'd be nice in beef stew' so had to buy them & then some beef chunks

Not had a beef stew for ages (TBH doesn't do me a huge amount of good but once in a while is ON) so huge pot full on the go & will get loads of portions for the freezer too :)

Now - really must drag poor Maisie to the park (we normally go to the beaches / woods at the weekend too:o)

Hope your weekend if proving more fruitful!

  • So ..... stew was yum! :)

Well, I can say it's been one of the laziest weekends I've had for ages :o

Got up at 7 (quite late for me!) - fed & sorted everyone & then decided to take Maisie to the beach as it was looking a bit 'iffy' out

Had a nice walk along the beach (although getting parked is a total nightmare atm - honestly, the place is full of camper vans :() and came back across the rock pools (which Maisie loves :)) so was paddling about 9am!

Popped to Mr T for a few bits - but got 1/2 way around and realised I was over £20 so might as well go to £30 to use my till spit from last week (luckily I'd taken it with me)

Came home to discover next door's visitors had parked across my drive  honestly if there's one thing guaranteed to make me REALLY cross, it's blocking my drive.

There's NO excuse for it here as there's loads of parking on the street & there's even space for 2 cars between our drive & the street ..... grrrrrrr

Anyway ...... home by 10:30 so breakfast for me, quick hoover & then a wee snooze on the sofa with Maisie along the front & Mia on her wee bed - heaven :)

Up about 12:30, had lunch - Maisie's still flat out & Mia has scarpered upstairs (after a wee trip outside ) so prob time to play musical swap-a-cat and let Archie out for a bit *sigh*

Going to be lazy the rest of the day - going to make a big pot of bolognaise sauce later on which will make a few portions, a spot of ironing to do & that's me!

Glad I went out when we did as it started to rain about 11 :( Supposed to be horrid later on so much stick the recycling boxes in the garage

Hope it's OK wherever you are

  • Not disappeared again - honest .... just trying to be good!

Popped to Mr T at lunchtime for a few bits - have managed to replenish stocks to do lunches for the remainder of the week (AND I usually treat myself to a bought lunch on Fridays ..... NOT this week :money:)

Need to start hunting around for car insurance - ended up putting the new car on my current policy (was just easier & knew it was about to end) - renewal on 4th Sept (unfortunately don't have money put aside to cover it this year :o)

    *sigh*

I started a new money jar at the start of the year - intention was to save £1 / week until I'm 50  and then treat myself to something nice (whether that's towards a holiday as I can never afford to go or something else) BUT not sure if I should keep it up or not when things are so tight

Seems silly £1 / week BUT still need to find the rest of the money for my blasted tooth / bridge AND now new winter wheels & tyres (had no luck selling the old ones yet :()

  • Good new on the car insurance front!

Renewal arrived yesterday and ...... new car is £7 / YEAR more :j

Not bad considering it's a bigger car, bigger engine & worth over double the old one!

On a slightly less MSE front - I think I'm going to have to pay if by d/debit this year :(

I do have the money to pay it BUT also need to find somewhere between £400 - £500 for my winter wheels & tyres

If I pay the car insurance in full, then I've nothing towards the wheels / tyres & can't see anyway to save up that much in such a short space of time

It adds £25 to the premium so a couple of £s a month but I guess needs must

  • Just realised ....... 5 days until moving day

Visiting tomorrow which will be my last 'proper' visit IYKWIM so feeling quite sad really :(

New house is lovely but ........

Also (and I know this is morbid so sorry) - all our pets (with the exception of Ben) are buried there ..... really quite sad to leave them behind

Start new job on Monday so a bit stressed atm :o

Will be glad when it's next Friday ....

Keep the £1 jar going even when things get tough, as sadly they probably will do. (sorry). But you will deserve a treat when you are fifty, you need something to look forward to. I have a sealed tin which is opened twice a year, when I first started to collect every couple of week I wanted to open it to pay for something or other but resisted, now I just put all my loose change in it and don't even think about it. Fingers crossed for Monday.xx
