Are you still keeping a diary? (will have a hunt - oh my, I've so much to catch up on!!)

Now ..... does anyone know where I can get a decent & cheap set of car mats?
Unfortunately the car didn't come with any- Hyundai ones are £45  and I've found similar ones online for £20 (delivered) BUT you have to be in to sign for them so no good for me
Typically (and I guess to try to get you to buy theirs) there are clips they have to fit too AND the footwell is very oddly shaped
My dad gave me an old set of his today & the back ones are fine :T BUT the front ones are awful if I'm totally honest (they came out a car they had several years so are very worn - could live with that BUT they've also been cut to fit that cars' footwell - and don't fit mine at all!)
Any suggestions please
I also need to try to save up around £400-£450 (to add to the £360 I've still to pay for my tooth ) for new winter tyres & wheels ...
As I'm going to keep this car min 4 & hopefully at least 5 years, it makes sense to buy another set of wheels & put the winter tyres onto those
Putting tyres on / off wheels twice a year isn't that great for the wheels (my alloys on the old car were quite scratched / marked from this) - not to mention the cost ...... about £50-£60 each time
So, the cost of the wheels (approx £200 if I can find a 2nd hand set) will be more than made back in a couple of years:T
Have 7 months tax to get back from the old car (approx £70) which can go towards them & hoping to sell the winter tyres from the old car as they should have a good 12-15k left in them ..... and have £100 saved which would've gone towards the service on the old car
Still a fair bit short though .....Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

M & D's moveGood they will be nearer :j
Really pleased M&D are moving - their current house is beautiful BUT very isolated (they were cut off for 7 weeks in the bad winter) and my dad doesn't keep the best AND the garden is just getting too much for them (approx 3 aces )
I think they're a bit disappointed they're not closer - they were trying to find somewhere here but there wasn't really anything on the market at the time (last min offer & we must be in ASAP type of offer) and they didn't want to rent for a bit (which I suggested) as my dad didn't want to move twice - and I can see where he's coming from
TBH they've got a LOT more for their money than they would've done here - and it's a lot closer than now (30 mins compared to just under an hour - the extra 15 miles took nearly 30 mins )
It's a lovely wee village & there's a couple of buses (no public transport where they are now) and a village shop (again nothing like that!) so if they can't drive, they can still get about
Garden is what I'd still call huge but tiny compared to their old one & much more manageable AND it's a bungalow which will be great for dad as he does struggle with the stairs now
All in all, it's a lovely house & I can see them being there IYKWIM
Also, I said to him yesterday - I took Maisie to Yellowcraig on Weds night (trying to use up fuel in old car!) and it took over 20 mins ... and that's only about 12 miles from me

Plan for today
Have decided to go & get the car mats - the ones in are awful
I have £5+ in Nectar points :T (can't remember if you can only spend these in set amounts?), £3 from the 20p coin jar(really need to get a grip on these as they've got a bit out of control again
) so that only leaves me £5 to pay :T
Will also pop into Lidl (not one near here unfortunately) as use their washing liquid & love a few of their food bits
Last stop will be the big Mr T - must try not to get carried away as there's so much more stuff than in our small ones  BUT need a few bits I can't get here & have a £4 off £30 spend till spit :money:
Hopefully the sun will still be out when I get back (this is when I wish shops opened really early on Sunday!) and I'll get some bits of housework done & then Maisie for a nice walk
Must fill in CPP forms - I had already done this ages ago but rang them last week as I'd never heard anything (not even a 'no' letter) and they said they'd never received them
Can't believe I need to do them all againBUT have found Martin's templates :money: so sure that will cut down on the time spent AND make them better than the original ones I sent off
Have a fabby Sunday all - just realised how much I've missed rambling away on here!!Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Had to dig out UK road atlas to find Musselburgh (g00gle earth not working). Alas, it's further away from the Perth area than I was hoping. CD isn't very well, so I need to find a sympathetic vet in each of the places we'll be visiting - still, given the overall distances involved I may well get back to you for your vet's number.. :cool2:
Hope you found the 'right' mats for your new car - all those shops open on Sundays now? Wow.0 -

Ahhhhh - one of my pals lives near Perth so I've dropped her a quick message asking if she can recommend any vets
Will drop you a PM if I hear anything ...... happy to give you my vets no too if it helps (and at least you know there's on site out of hours as well)
