i have a feeling that it's going to be a very long and expensive month :(
  • Next month should feel pretty short for me - three weeks then I'm on night shifts again and it's pay day :D Much nicer than 6 weeks between monies!!

I have realised that i underestimated what i owe by about £800. On a better note i have nearly paid off all of the extra owed. Trying to do lots of overtime to make up for it.

  • Firstly, huge congratulations to Sandypan - £54k to £0! What an amazing achievement. I'm so pleased for you, the feeling must be fantastic!

Welcome to Jo3y83, truebluemummy and stitchintime :hello:

Mat_Lock - well done on those winnings!

braddy970 - don't be too frustrated, hopefully you will have a bit more to throw at those debts come February. I'm sure everyone is here willing you on and I'll be sure to keep an eye out for your posts next month:)

This will be my last payment this month, although I'll update if I get my Halifax One statement before month end. I had an email from Amazon today to say that they are crediting my card due to a returned product - I paid on my Capital One card which I have now cleared so I am going to have to use the card next month to pay for groceries in order to get the money back. It has been on my to-do list to cancel the card so I'm glad I didn't! I imagine it would have been a headache trying to sort out getting the money otherwise!

Made a payment of £120 to my Argos card today, which leaves me with a total of #66 £1817/£12500

    Thanks for updating :)

haha thanks, I haven't won anything since but still got £15 of the original £20 left in account. Once that's gone it's gone.

Can't you just phone the CC company and ask them to send the money to your bank account and close the CC account rather than having to spend on it to get it back?
  • Well it's getting ever closer to pay day - THANK GOD!! I had a real craving for cereal and we've none in the house and it was a bit sad when I tried to convince my DH to go pick up a box and his reply was "we have no money!" I mean CEREAL-OUSLY who can't afford a box of cheerios?! It's bonkers really as we've stuck to budget all month but there is no slack in it whatsoever at this point *sigh* Only today to get through now though and plenty of real food in the house - my payday treat this month will be a giant box of cheerios which I suppose at least saves some money for next month :rotfl:

Otherwise I'm making the most of my time off work and getting jobs done around the house - for the first time in AGES I've got all my ironing done - woohoo! My house gets very neglected when I'm on night shifts and DH is pretty pants at picking up the slack so it's nice to be back on top of things :A In bad news though the left mouse button on my laptop is on it's way out which is bloody awful timing but I will battle on with the dodgy touch pad thing until I can afford to buy a new one with my own money which may be a while! :p

I assumed that they would charge me as a cash withdrawl if I did this? I've given them more than enough money in the form of interest - I don't want to give them any more;)

Does anyone know if this would be seen as a cash payment?
