I've had to pay £50 on my credit card today.

Very rare that a alloy wheel for my car has popped up on eBay so I bought it as I need to get the damaged wheel on my car replaced asap.

I am hoping to pay the debt off in next weeks salary so I am not going to adjust my totals for now.

Mehh, note to self. Never self diagnose a tyre/wheel issue on a car.

Wasted £50 buying this wheel and I don't even need it. Now stuck £50 down and can't send it back :(

Can you stick it back on eBay? You said its rare they come up so hopefully someone is out there looking to :) You might lose a bit in fees, but not the whole £50 :)

car FAILED! it could be cheap - £17.50 - or it could be more expensive - £150 - obviously hoping for the former, they will call us back shortly....but it could've been a lot worse!

ohhh dear... it's not £150, it's £300!!!!! because of the amount of labour involved. OH is trained mechanic so will try and do the work himself if possible, we're going to buy the parts tomorrow, parts may be around the £150 mark.

Labour is always the killer. When I was getting my car fixed it was £600, the part was only £120! My dad restores old cars, but can't work on modern cars with all their fancy bits and bobs. Hope your OH can do most of the work himself! What part is it?

brake callipers, something to do with the handbrake. a 2 and a half hour job! the parts aren't particularly cheap but with the labour it all adds up!

Mine was the timing chain, bane of my life as it was only replaced just before I bought it (hence being able to get it fixed under warranty, thank god)

I'm just gonna run my car into the ground, and hopefully by the time she goes I'll have my house deposit sorted and have saved enough for a second hand Fiat 500 in Pistachio green! :D

Hope your partner can fix it. I'm so reliant on my Dad to service and fix my car up, really should start learning myself!
