It's a long story, but to summarise, we did live together, then my job brought me 300 miles away. We've been long distance for a while, and now I'm looking for work back there. As we lived together before I'd kinda assumed we'd live together again, as we managed not to kill each other the last time around!

I hope it's nothing too serious! Hope you (or whoever the medical costs are for) get better soon!

Well I pointed this out. Apparently either I move in to his place and pay him rent (I said that was a big fat no) or we both buy separate places, live separately for a while, and then rent out one of them when we move in together (because that's not a hassle). He conceded that if I live with him and help him pay his mortgage, I could get my name on the deed. But surely I'd want to have an input on the place he buys then? I'm pretty peeved still, can you tell?

id outright ask why he doesnt want to live together!!! id be fuming, definitely not something id let lie

He wants to live together, but he doesn't want to buy together. I'm annoyed that after 5 years, I'm figuring we're a long term fixture, and think this comes across as him thinking we're rocky.

Unfortunately my OH had an accident and has needed several operations. We have medical insurance (thank god) but there will still be several thousand dollars we'll need to pay out. We'll be getting medical bills for months. The bill without insurance is likely to run into hundreds of thousands of dollars. I am dreading the amount of paperwork that's going to be involved with this.

Minicooper - hope you get things sorted out.

Britabroad - sorry to hear about your difficulties - I hope the medical costs are less than you think and that your OH recovers quickly. Small payment today of £59.32 making the total #058: £2,984.91/ £12,600 (23.69%)

  • Little update from me, wish it could of been more but dh had 2 days pay missing and no overtime, plus we have just paid for the car tax. I'm still rather pleased that we have managed a payment of £100.

  • So although I feel a little foolish that I "forgot" 1 card I am still feeling motivated to clear the debts. Clearing them all by Xmas is a big ask but I will give it my best shot.
Feeling organised - opening bank statements as soon as they arrive and filing them straight away is a good step forward for me.
