  • Hi GingerFurball - welcome - you're number 156! Good luck :)

garmcqui welcome too - you're number 157! Good luck :)

Thanks Loopymadlover - I've added your total in now.

Jonesy - I'm liking the 25% on the nose! It's great when you hit a milestone like that :T

amr that's really frustrating - I've never had a landlord who gave me notice when he was coming round, it's a right pest! But it's not up to them to be telling you how to manage your house, as long as it's not leading to damage tell them to sod off!
  • Havn't paid any extra off my debt, as it isn't payday until next Tuesday...however, today spent nothing! And have cancelled drinks tomorrow with a friend until next week. Otherwise it would have gone on the CC. Will go instead next week, and use cash.

i thougt i had 30 quid left, ive got 18. bah...... definitely a month of being strict next month!
  • amr547 - I agree with marliepanda. Change the locks!! If you have a Yale type lock then you just have to change the barrel. Take a look on YouTube to see how it is done - it really is very simple to do. Be sure to keep the original lock and replace it when you leave and don't worry about the landlord - it is perfectly legal to do this (but do remember to replace landlords lock!).

Although the shortest month, February really seems to have been dragging - I can't wait for March as we will have a little extra £££ coming in to throw at the debt and we will also be able to start planting out in the garden. We're hoping to get quite a few (edible) seeds sown this year in a bid to cut down on our grocery shop a little more. Simple, easy things to grow but it will still save a few pennies. I'm spending a bit of time lurking over on the Greenfingered board at the moment!

I've been throwing cash at the credit cards as it comes in and I made a £700 payment to the Argos card yesterday. All the statements have come in now and it looks like we have paid off a good amount over the last two months. We are still horrifically in debt (£22.5k *sigh*), but getting below £20k is in sight and I am hoping that we will be there by June. I'm seeing this as a bit like losing weight and setting myself smaller aims as I reach for each goal!

Anyway, update for me is #66 £2650/£12500

Just got a call from the garage about my parts warranty claim, theyre paying up! So happy. I hadnt even considered it in my debts as as far as I was concerned I was NOT going to pay it, but its nice to know that I officially don't owe anything anymore!

Natwest have put a random charge of £6 on my account which has annoyed me, but I have contacted live chat and they will refund it when it actually gets taken on 4th March, so must remember to get that sorted!

Pay is also £12 short from what I was expecting due to some weird overtime confusion, so I will definitely be stretching it to hit £1000 this month, but hopefully if some survey money comes through I might do it. I keep reminding myself I'm still ahead and not to set targets then be annoyed when i don't hit them!
  • Hi I've only just found this thread, can in please join?
I will need to add up my debts but have just moved the last to a 0% so need to make sure I clear them before they turn into interest payments.
This year I've decided against a holiday, paying on cc, and decided it is the year to clear the debts.

Forgot to update the end of last month, another £200.00 tucked away, not as much as I hoped for but don't want to leave myself short. Hopefully I will have a little bit left the end of the month.
